In the pre-match presser, Mr Let’s Go stated that it would be “eleven against eleven” at Celtic Park.
Clearly, Alfredo did not get the memo.
I’m told that the Colombian did not have this discipline problem when he played in Finland.
Perhaps this short fuse is the collateral damage of the high-Level valuation that has been regurgitated by the Stenography Corps.
The equalising goal by Ryan Kent showed why the Sevco manager wants the basket of assets to sign him on a permanent basis.
However, as I reported here two days ago, there is a slight problem with that.
Sevco are on financial fumes.
They have just borrowed from Close Brothers to see out the season.
Moreover, the amount they borrowed recently is substantially larger than the £3m they borrowed last year.
As well as that, they’re in court with Big Mike again next month because of their ill-judged car boot sale.
In the end, the class of the champions was decisive today.
James Tavernier underestimated the ability of his opponents to punish defensive errors.
The scoring was opened by a player who cost Celtic £9m from PSG.
That is a transfer fee that is larger than Sevco will have to rebuild their squad in the summer.
No sporting advantage though…
At the turn of the year, it was undeniable that The People were hoping that their beloved tribute act could mount a real title challenge.
Of course, hope mixed with Herrenvolk hubris is a toxic cocktail.
Consequently, the Ibrox klanbase will be somewhat bleak at the moment.
The poor dears…
Finally, to those of ye who helped this lady yesterday with her Celtic Foundation Efforts.
Míle Buíochas.

Hmm, Gerrard said initially the week’s wages fine will go to the fans. Now he’s saying the club will decide. Wondering if that’ll keep the lights on for another week. 🙂
Phil,
When will the SFA wise up and stop scheduling the Glasgow derby on Mother’s Day ? It’s a well known fact that incidences of domestic violence spike around this fixture and even more so when Sevco lose. One week either side of Mother’s Day would allow women to enjoy their day and not live in fear of an unfavorable result.
Hail and Hail again !
Aye. My 92 year old mother could have suffered carpet burns slide tackling the telly when Kent went through. In fact she came closer to getting him than Boyata did.
A great win despite the fact that NFL made some questionable decisions from start to finish.
The Captain was the one holding the Columbians hawmaws for a change and hunskelper Eddy showed why he’s worth the £9m fee.
Young Mr Ajer proved today that he will be one of the first names on the team sheet from now on.
Ta ta, sevco. HH
Ajer, to my mind, is a FAR better player than VanDyke was at the same age.
Totally agree, Charger, but can we hang on to him? That performance had PL with £ signs in his eyes. HH
Not only has the Colombian nutter contributed to the loss of 3 points by his early sending off but he’s also blown apart Rangers budget for the new season.
No one in their right mind is going to pay £20m, or anywhere near it, for someone with his disciplinary record.
Broonie’s tickled the back of his leg and Alfredo’s immediate reaction is to lash out, right in front of the linesman.
Scouts will be taking that lack of discipline into account when they report back to their paymasters.
5 reds, 17 yellows doesn’t tell the whole story as the tally should be higher if the officials had done their job.
No doubt there will be interest but it’s difficult to see why anyone would risk as much as £5m on his temperament.
No wonder Stevie G is going off his nut. Every card picked up by Morelos detracts from his war chest for next season.
As does repayment of the Close Bros loan and whatever Ashley walks away with.
Financially they will be much worse off than this season and Gerrard will have to lower his sights and make do with the likes of Hastie and Greg Stewart instead, or will the media big up these signings as being of the marquis variety?
Stevie G has next season to turn the ship around at the most.
A treble treble will immediately pile on the pressure on him.
Bring it on.
This four games ban means he will have missed around eight or nine games through suspension this season. Or to put it another way the equivalent of about 20-25% of a league season. Who in their right mind would sign such a loose cannon. He’s a complete liability. He simply cannot cope in any kind of pressure situation.
While we’re on the subject of El Buffoono. Against the true and glorious champions. Played 8, goals 0, assists 0. Big Eddie against the tribute act. Played 5, goals 4, assists 2. So where exactly is this argument coming from about who’s the better player?
Oops!! Sorry! Forgot! The Buffoon is playing against a legendary club. Big Eddie’s only playing against a tribute act!!!
11 v 11
Nonsense !
Everyone knows that Sevco ALWAYS start with 12 men!
I was hoping for a hammering of them…
…but actually … to see their hopes of keeping a faint ‘challenge’ alive snuffed out last minute (as we all know Celtic can do) … was probably sweeter.
Morelos must be ‘World Class’ at being a total eejit, for as a footballer he has the temper of a toddler.Lashes out at the slightest wee thing and does his klub no good whatsoever.
I’m not complaining though, advantage Celtic, and I thought the team would take real advantage of that,it didn’t pan out like that and we struggled to get the upper hand in the second half.
Saw the link to the CFC🍀 Charitable Foundation,That lady is doing great work, like a certain 🇮🇪 journo that keeps us All updated, and I wish her,and his new play, every success.I have a direct debit set for a monthly contribution, small, but ever little helps.
Thanks Phil HH🍀
Oh dear, big bad Broonie is winding up Stevie G’ s players according to the Ibrox manager and must be punished.
Perhaps he should be more concerned with his own players biting in response.
El Buffoon and Halliday will be missing from the Hearts game automatically whilst Kent will join them after the CO offers him a 2 game suspension for his assault on Broonie.
Will we see the usual appeals lodged or will they suck up the punishment?
Great Weekend Phil. I know we are going to have even more great weekends between now and May
Tavernier underestimates his own girth as well, he needs to lose a few kilos. It was nice of Neil to bring on Sinclair and even up the team numbers at the beginning of the second half. And then Tom Rogic who looks some way short of match fitness to make it 9. Seriously, Lennon’s use of subs today. I will give his team their due. They can pull a goal out of their ass. The less likely they look to score the more dangerous they are. How much longer do we have to endure Sinclair? He could have rounded Halliday easily at the death and instead chose to run into him. Madden could not have been closer and called it right.
I loved the post-match interview with Broony…
Q: what did Halliday say to you at the end of the game?
A: he just congratulated me, that’s all!
Classic, Broony!! 😂😂😂
We already see the transfer market that Gerrard is in ahead of next season.
The untried young Hastie from Well for a development fee and Greg Stewart on a Bosman.
El Buffoon has sliced another chunk from his transfer value with his complete inability to keep his temper in check.
Surely the topping up system will see him miss more than two games though during the 90 minutes a couple of his mates should also have been having an early bath for cutting Celtic players in half with atrocious challenges.
Not a vintage 2nd half but the resulting 13 points gap seals the deal for the league title.
I think, under the totting-up system, he potentially faces at least a 4-match ban.
Mark my words. The “untried young Hastie” is going to be one helluva player in time.
I wonder who the “marquee signing” will be when season ticket renewals comes around?
Maybe it’s rhyming slanf? Ryan Kent – tent – which is like an off the radar marquee.
Nigel Farage ?
I hear that they are chasing Gaz Ebo. Apparently he puts lots of top strikers in the shade.
