As previously stated, I had contacted UEFA regarding the crowd trouble outside Ibrox Stadium on August 2nd at the match involving Osijek FC.
This the reply that I have just received:
Dear Sir,
No disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round second leg match between Rangers FC and NK Osijek, played on 2 August in Scotland.
UEFA strongly condemns the violent clashes which occurred in Glasgow last week, but as these incidents were not observed inside or around the stadium, they do not fall under the jurisdiction of UEFA’s disciplinary bodies.
For further information, we can only address you to local police authorities.
Kind regards,
UEFA Media & Public Relations

Any views on BR’s “discontent” Phil…?
Given his record and standing with the support…I find it staggering that the Board would treat him this way…and risk our wrath.
The way they have handled the McGinn situation is amateurish…no more no less.
I remember Tommy Burns revealing that he had wanted to sign a player …but Fergus thought that the finances of the deal were unsuitable…and blocked it.
Tommy got the player 3 months later…after Fergus “negotiated” a better deal.
TB didn’t quite see it that way.
Are we back to those days..?
And for the record…I am confident in my source that Big Eddie was NOT a record breaking deal…although it might be one day.
The “add-on” monies from the Virgil transfer…and Armstrong’s transfer fee…more than covered Eddie’s costs…by a long way
Message to the Board…
Have faith in BR’s requirements…and back him…or he will be gone.
I see Hibs have been hit with three charges from UEFA. While it’s all a bit trivial I do have a problem with so-called supporters who insist on lighting flares. These idiots should be paying the fines, not their clubs. As for stewarding, there were about 50 Asteras fans at Easter Road in a stand all to themselves with full facilities available and no doubt several stewards in the corridors beneath the stand. They were perfectly safe – a lot safer than many supporters on Edmiston Drive a week later but clearly stabbings are fine as far as UEFA is concerned.
UEFA know not to waste their time, not like sevco will pay any fines.
So, according to the Evening Times, the stabbings took place on Edmiston Drive.
But according to UEFA, Edmiston Drive is not “around the stadium”? The stadium in question being Ibrox Stadium, 150 Edmiston Drive.
Makes you wonder if maybe they don’t have the correct information at their fingertips.
Or maybe they do, but their fingertips are not around their bodies.
Are any of us actually surprised?
What is the definition of “around”?
Its within a stones or bottle throw. However for parking its a mile.
I don’t see turkeys voting for Christmas anytime soon…so, nothing to see here, move along!
Off topic…but…
I watched them play Osijek ( twice) and said to my mates…
“That left back is a really good player…we could do worse than sign him”
I’ve been told tonight that Sevco have signed him.
If its true…I’m really pissed off.
I posted the danger of this player on my small Facebook page. He is a regular scorer and producer.

Agreed. He looks very sharp. A real capture.
At least you got the courtesy of a reply, Phil. However, this allows these knuckledraggers to set up their own “safe malky zone”, fully aware that UEFA won’t touch them so long as they get up to their nonsense outwith the proximity of their hovel. UEFA are washing their hands of it, so it’s down to Police Scotland to deal with those “Scottish fans”.
Phil, I see the DR got the exact same reply. You wouldn’t be by chance “The Spokesman” mentioned in the article?. Surely not.
Seems fair to me. Police Scotland should have had a better strategy in place and they have all but admitted that.
Borna Barisic £2.2m, surprised at this even though the payment will most likely be nonsense it must still have cost them couple of hundred mill, money they could have got big Laffable for. I suspect it may spell the end for John and Wallace.
I think this is called ‘diminished responsibility’. It’s common in football throughout the world. Clubs and governing bodies are happy to take the gate receipts and tv revenue but don’t seem willing to spend a suitable amount on suitable security arrangements – instead it’s the public purse that pays. Quite disgraceful really.
Uefa Charged Roma and Liverpool for recent crowd trouble outside the Stadia
https://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/sport/liverpool-and-roma-charged-by-uefa-844511.html
Nothing to do with the rainjuurz, nowhere near Ibrox, no supporters involved, nothing to do with UEFA. The rest of us not surprised. Ignoring the issue and pointing out the boundaries has just given the Klan the GREEN light to carry on with their violent, scummy behaviour. Well done UEFA. HH
Well said?
Geography is obviously not one of UEFA’s strong points, the incident happened in the vicinity of the ground.
Perhaps it was over the yardage which they count as “outside the stadium”
Clarification would from UEFA would have helped.
And Sevvie G thinks that they get a bad deal with luck etc…
They seem to have an easy run to Europa league (should they get that far )….
…, a rematch with Progres no less is a possibility!
The likes of Burnley would have seriously found them out.
Why don’t you take the issue up with Police Scotland as its an intelligence failure on their part. Several of their European games last season away from home saw crowd trouble instigated by Osijek fans.
Around being the immediate circumference is it? Dont forget these same wallies issued a licence to sevo, enough said?
