Let’s Röhl?

I’m told that Sevco’s likeable gaffer from Deutschland recently made a robust defence of his performance to the American owners.

I understand that the German made it clear that before he accepted that job, which is undoubtedly something of a poisoned Loving Cup, he hadn’t been short of other offers.

Moreover, I’m told that he was distinctly unimpressed with his players being targeted on the street and on social media by some of the Ibrox klanbase.

If he fails to deliver a result on Sunday, then the People will be revolting.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Stateside owners retain a rational distance from the emotional implosion.

In January, the Sevco High Command had a good reason to stretch the budget in anticipation of a title win when they saw the shitshow at Celtic.

The possibility of Champions League Revenues was justification enough to spend a bit more on the squad.

Now, that ship has sailed after the defeat to their low-calorie cousins at the John Wilson Arena.

What IS certain is that Cavenagh’s favourite word, “sustainability”, will be the order of the day in the summer.

For the avoidance of doubt, the decade of emotional ownership is definitely over.

To remain the dominant club in Scotland, all that Celtic has to be is competent.

As in the complete opposite of this season.

  1. Same old same old from the ibrox support. One minute the manager can do no wrong, and as soon as results are not going their way, the knives are out. Celtic have not been much better and the opportunity was there for the yanks to help themselves to the Champions league cash. Fair play to the diets, they have taken full advantage and look like the safest bet to take our crown.

If that happens, the hierarchy at the club should be hunted at every single game until things show signs of improvement. Pointing at the rangers and assuming that they won’t catch up is a dodgy strategy to say the least.
A half competent board would have secured five in a row quite comfortably, but sadly we are stuck with a bunch of amateurs who appear to have learned absolutely nothing from the fan feedback over the season.
