Today I had a catch-up with Duncan Smillie of Celtic Supporters Limited.
For background, here is an interview with him from last year.
I asked him what had transpired since then:
“So what have we been up to since we last spoke?
Made great strides in growing membership; we’ve purchased our first shares (15,000) on behalf of our members, hosted live events in Scotland, Ireland & England, and held our first online members’ meetings.
In the coming days, you’ll see a detailed structure on how we as fans can take Celtic to fan ownership.
It’s doable, and if we can all come together under one banner, we can make it happen. It’s very exciting.”
Definitely a developing story.
One thing is for sure: anything that can catalyse change at Celtic should be fully supported.

Resolution 14 at the last AGM finished any of there being fans ownership at Celtic.
Resolution 14, giving the Board the right to allocate shares, was passed at the aborted AGM.
If that allows them to allocate shares to themselves then the game is already lost as anytime fans get near a threshold the Board will just allocate more shares and reduce the fans percentage.
Uniting the Celtic support has never been an easy task but this could be a good thing if handled properly. Was fan ownership not at the top of Fergus’s wish list when he saved the club back in the day? Interesting times ahead in terms of potential much needed change upstairs HH
