What’s next for Inflection Point FC?

The football cliché is that we are now at the business end of the season.

That is undoubtedly true.

However, for the old Irishman, this appears to be strictly personal!

In another part of the Fitba Multiverse, Celtic have persisted with Wilfried Nancy in the hope that he would, eventually, get it right.

Yeah, think about that one…

As I write that, I’m imagining his upbeat glass one-eighth full takes with every passing defeat.

Instead, we have O’Neill.

Winning…

Kelechi Iheanacho delivering the winner in the capital keeps the show on the road.

Just…

Indeed, the fact that three games out, Martin O’Neill could still get this squad over the line to another title is, in and of itself, remarkable.

It’s been a self-harming season where every possible advantage has been handed to clubs who shouldn’t be near Celtic.

“Never waste a disaster” is wise counsel.

Here, David Low on ACSOM  displays the clear thinking that made him Fergus McCann’s guy on the ground during the 1994 takeover.

There is so much to be done in and around Celtic Park if the club’s absolute ruler so decides.

With that in mind, your humble correspondent has recently been trying to partake in some Desmond Kremlinology.

A seasoned Dermot watcher told me a couple of days ago that he was surprised that the billionaire golf fanatic didn’t turn up at the launch of the 2027 Ryder Cup at the announced venue in Limerick.

This might, note might, suggest that Desmond and his advisors are in conclave about something.

Certainly, there is nothing substantive emanating from Celtic despite the state of the place.

This recent outing by interim Chairman Brian Wilson is a holding statement 101.

Sadly, only Desmond can change this.

The quadruple treble was a creation of peak Brendan and Chris Davies, as his able right hand.

The number two in any organisation is often key to success or failure.

A decade ago,  that management team arrived at Paradise from the EPL and swatted aside anything placed before them.

It is no secret that the Unsurpassed Dignity of some in the Sevco party at the Scottish Cup semi-final in April 2016 helped convince Desmond to put manners on the four-year-old club.

He did…

Celtic, unlike Sevco, is a publicly listed company on the London Stock Exchange.

Consequently, they will have to be notified of any major changes.

A buddy of mine sent me this LinkedIn thingy of Celtic’s current CEO.

He said it had recently been altered to remove the “CEO” bit from the bio.

I have no idea if that is the case.

What I am sure about is that David Low is entirely correct.

Regardless of how this season ends, Celtic, as a club, is at an inflection point.
