Big Mike and the Dingwall deflection

I learned today that the recent court victory by Sports Direct led to a rather sombre meeting of the Sevco High Command.

The judgement can be read in full here.

Firstly, I’m sure that the Ibrox club’s legal team will be paid without any delay.

Essentially this was a victory apropos the disclosure of documents.

Of course, failure to comply would be a contempt of court.

Therefore, the Serious Professional and his dignified colleagues will undoubtedly accede to this court order rather sharpish.

Big Mike will be very grateful.

Dear reader, the dénouement of this legal saga will almost certainly happen now in 2022.

One thing that can be said about Mike Ashley is that he does stay the course.

For the avoidance of doubt, the devil is still in the retail.

I’m told that the usual suspects in the Stenography Corps were advised to steer clear of this highly significant legal ruling and instead focus on the performance art at Dingwall.

Although the chaps in the Blue Room may feel that they are being assailed on several fronts (Ashley, Dave King), they can always count on the obedience of the succulent ones…

  1. Looks like it’s all adding up to a very big bill for The Rangers? Any indications on how much that could be? Good read as always Phil< thanks.

  2. Its what comes when you play with serious business people who like to win, I personally would like to know who exactly is behind caster, to see where the money trail starts and finishes, as you always say Phil, follow, follow the money…

I found it interesting that nobody picked up on how stupid police Scotland actually are when it comes to crowd safety. Anyone and their dog knows it’s safer to allow the happy, exuberant, non violent support to spill on to the pitch as it stops crushing which has led to deaths in many stadiums around the world, Glasgow included. Not so amazed to hear and now reported the resounding knuckle dragging chorus from the Ross Cunty supporters, who I may add claim not to be racist, bigots, but I suppose the red, white and blue livery gives them away before they open their small town mouths.

  3. Indeed, G Spiers who I thought not to be onf the stenography brigade certainly seems to be after today, and D Tanner – well less said the better !

    • Spiers and the London Times have always been some of the worst offenders and, in fact the so called “quality” papers such as the Telegraph and others seem to take the drivel out of Ibrox as the God’s honest truth and print it, verbatim. This could have sinister undertones such as the anti-Catholic/Irish bias but I would guess it is a complete lack of any real interest in football North of the border and a reluctance to waste time checking the facts.

      • Charlie G, if indeed it was taken as “the God’s honest truth”, and “the God” disagreed, would not “the God” call them out and sort it out? If, indeed, there was one such omnipotent thingy? Like a god?

        • The phrase is more linguistical than religious. I once said to a young shop assistant when she offered a full-fat special offer, to “get behind me Satan”. I still wake up with the image of her stunned, horrified facial expression brought about by some old codger bringing up if not actually summoning the devil.
