Anyway, getting back to football matters for a while. The latest Scottish Government guidance released on August 9th as we moved beyond level zero states that if close contacts have been double jabbed (over 14 days since second jab) and can provide a negative PCR test then they do not need to self isolate. Only those symptomatic cases and positive tests need to isolate for the full 10 days. I expect most professional players are fully vaccinated and regularly tested so the chances of all these players missing the weekend game is pretty slim. I do not know the rules for international travel but I would not expect them to fly abroad for the UEFA game.
Funny how this has arisen on the eve of travel for a European game….
… yet, certain players didn’t travel to Dingwall on Sunday and Sevco have deleted their training videos and photos (showing close contacts) from club website…

In France like many other European countries double vaccination is required for travel, drinking in bars, having a coffee out as well as visiting a restaurant.
Added to that, no gym visits, hair dressers and believe it or not shopping in a supermarket!
All because people chose to exercise their right to have or not to have an experimental jab, even if you feel it is a vaccine fine.
Soon the double vaccine will not be enough, you will have to have a booster, otherwise the above will apply to you, then another booster and so on.

Public Health Measures are not ‘control’. They are invoked for the greater good. We need these measure to protect the majority from the particularly dim minority. Phil, I really enjoy your football blogs and your blogs in general, but I believe you should steer away from giving out medical advice and leave that to the medically qualified, ie advising people to get vaccinated. Have you researched the deaths and adverse reactions related to these unlicensed vaccines? The information is out there if you care to research it, and the numbered are far from low, any other vaccine in the past has been pulled for less.

The current data tells us that the vast majority of people in hospital with Covid are unvaccinated.
As a worker on the frontline I haven’t yet come across anyone who has taken ill from the vaccine but I’ve known many who have died from the virus or have come through it only to end up with Long Covid.

They cannot cancel the games if they have enough fit players to put a team out. Think back to the corresponding fixture last year. We had to put out a team of fringe players and debutants.
As a percentage of all people receiving the vaccine those numbers are very very low. And no other vaccine has ever been created so quickly in response to such a global event.

No vaccine has ever been administered to so many people globally in such a short period of time either.
This makes it easier to look at possible side effects more quickly than a vaccine rolled out over decades, and probably skews the figures.
There will ALWAYS be those who suffer side effects from any medication, and as a general rule these will be linked to underlying, and often previously undetected, medical conditions. However the benefits, for almost everyone, far outweigh any risks.
