It is entirely understandable to feel sorry for those who have been duped.
However, it isn’t always that easy to convince people that they have been taken in, especially when they are The People.
I am now convinced that those who are steeped in a subculture of anti-intellectualism and Herrenvolk exceptionalism are particularly vulnerable to being played.
Of course, the Fourth Estate should be an important safeguard in this respect.
Sadly, on Planet Fitba the Stenography Corps will regurgitate anything that is an Ibrox good news story.
This is from June last year.
This site is fully searchable and you will find an alternative analysis to the “King defeats Ashley” narrative.
I have stated here repeatedly that it often takes time to be vindicated.
My primary concern is to protect sources.
Many people take risks to give me sensitive information and it must be handled with care.
However, let’s be clear about something on this story.
In June 2017 I KNEW that Ashley had scored a major victory over King and the Sevco High Command.
However, I could only allude to aspects of the story at the time
Then when a Learned source provided me with the court documents I was able to set the record straight.
When my piece was circulated in Twitter I’m told that The People reacted badly.
The poor dears.
I’m afraid that this is the inevitable fate of an evidence resistant subculture.
If that was not an entirely accurate sociological description of the Ibrox klan then the Sevco High Command would not have been able to control the message so completely.
Since the Off Licence Putsch of March 2015, it has been one of the few areas where the Blue Room chaps have demonstrated competence.
However, their failure to have an adequate response to the Ashley injunction was the reason for this deflection exercise yesterday.
Of course, “Dublin-based” is a dog whistle that never fails to elicit a barking response from the Ibrox customer base.
What The People find most objectionable about your humble correspondent is that I deploy something that they try to avoid-the truth.
Carl Jung said it much better than I ever could:
There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own Soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.
That, dear reader, is the private hell of each and every one of the Ibrox customer base who thinks that they are still watching the original Rangers in 2018.
Until they face up to what really happened in the summer of 2012 then they will be tragically easy to fool.
That is something that Sevco’s found father found every profitable indeed.
Rather like a dodgy medium Charles of Normandy told The People that they could still connect to their beloved club.
Sevco is a cruel hoax and I will not be party to the con.
Rangers died in 2012 and the tribute act is a shambles.
At some point, some of The People will have to realise that.
Until then I will continue to skewer the klan with the truth.
Have a great day.
Last January I was busy listening to my beloved Newport County beat Leeds United on the BBC commentary while in Astana.
In 1989 This club was formed after the Original 1912 club went bust.
They are not same club and everbody knows they are not…but we don’t care. We are the first club to celebrate their centenary before their silver jubilee!!
Rangers are not the same club that was formed in 1872. Once they get over that they will sleep better.
Agreed. I am a Maidstone United fan. They went bust in 1992. The current club of that name is a new club, but pays tribute to the former club in the name, colours and (until recently) crest. The new club started from the absolute bottom – the junior Kent County League fourth division.
Some fans from the old club follow the new club, but many fans have only ever known the new club. We see continuity and we see change. Like the Newport fans, we don’t care. But then also like the Newport fans, we don’t claim to be the most successful club in the world and we don’t wear stars on our shirts.
Starting from the bottom and rebuilding (or building for the first time if you prefer) teaches humility. It also teaches sustainability.
I wish my friend from Newport good travels in his football journey.
Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall…..King James book of Proverbs . “Haughty”, being a word rarely used but best describes them so well, hell will truly be slapped into them this coming season, looking forward to it..
King has been acting as de facto Chairman/Director of the football club.
It couldn’t be more clear yet Regan, remember him?’ turned a blind eye.
Not only is King continuing in his role under Maxwell’s new leadership, he’s also hurling accusations at SFA and SPFL officials using the media to forward his agenda.
He’s drowning in a sea of shit of his own making, whose going down with him?
The Parks and Alistair Johnston must be dreading King’s next move.
Peed off COS, peed off TOP, banned Celtic fans from the Broomloan, orange strips good to go, if they can find a retail partner!
Would be hilarious if it turned out to be SD. Of course that would be sold to the punters as a vastly improved deal on the previous one and another King win.
Perhaps Mike will add a penny to the alleged 7P in the pound currently finding its way into the Ibrox club coffers. 13% increase, not to be sniffed at, eh Dave.
To quote an old military saying…
“If it’s sympathy you’re after you’ll find it in the dictionary between shit and syphilis”
A complex book, but Herman Melvilles “The Confidence Man” exposed the methods of the confidence trickster travelling on a Mississippi steam ship.
The confidence trickster first builds trust on a minor level: “Do you trust me? Would you let me walk away with your watch – I promise I’ll bring it back” and the watch is duly returned. Now, having gained the confidence of the passenger, the trickster turns to the railroad shares he is carrying with the aim of unloading them on the gullible but trusting passenger.
Para Handy once dealt with a cockney trickster down Govan way who tried that watch scam on the crew of the Vital Spark.
This is easily the best website I have in my favourites folder Phil but I find myself drawn just now to write something negative unfortunately…..
As much as you’re work is fantastic, full of truths and ultimately written because that is what a real journalist should do, For me nobody ever, even a QC or a high court judge will convince the klan to ever say their club died even when in a court of law it will get said.
So in effect nothing will ever change here unfortunately…..
Sevco were made to start at the bottom (not demoted as their fans like to say) even though there is no mechanism in the SFA handbook for such a demotion and we still hear nothing of note on any MSM asking any real questions.
It will never ever change
Phil if you could answer my questions I will be extremely grateful…..
WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED TO KEEP USING THE DEAD RANGERS CREST?
RIGHT NOW RANGERS ARE SAYING THE SPFL CHAIRMAN IS NOT FIT AND PROPER (no laughing at the back) YET NOBODY HAS THE BALLS TO REPLY BACK “POT KETTLE GUYS !!…WHY IS THIS?
this has now for me turned into a loch ness monster story….
sorry for the negativity
HH guys
James Forrest has destroyed Chris Jack’s latest piece of pish in the ET.
Normally I would have referred to the blue facing ‘journo’ as having lost his credibility but then you need some to start with.
All you SPFL clubs should be embarrassed that not one of you has put your head above the parapet to support the Ibrox call for MacLennans head.
That’s the gist of it. MacLennan bad guy, King good, go work that one out.
Jack doesn’t have the skill set to put together so many joined up words, he must have had some help.
Perchance could it be the unseen hand of the former Airdrieonians fan, a glory hunter in the 60’s as Celtic enjoyed their European glory days.
Not the only former Airdrie Academy FP to have been spotted on one of Phil Cole’s Coatbridge busses heading to the East End in those heady days.
King thinks he’s above the law and is prepared to litigate at the drop of a hat to prove it.
His club is now facing a complete loss of merchandising income, is unable to launch a share issue and the gap between income and expenditure is growing daily.
It was made clear in the audited accounts that there would be a funding gap this season, that was a best case scenario including a major contribution from merchandising.
Meanwhile Close Bros will be monitoring matters in order to ensure that their ‘ contribution’ will indeed be repaid plus interest.
Yet another interesting few weeks ahead, but first things first, MacLennan has to go and overnight that will solve the plethora of issues swirling around the club.
Let’s go Dave.
Excellent comment Mr.McCormack, you can paint quite the picture.Busses I had to check, but again you’re bang on the money,1 s or 2 it is all the same.✅
Thanks again Phil, best site and honest moments, nought like it anywhere???
“to feel sorry for those who have been duped”
I might feel sorry if I thought those who had been duped used it as a learning experience. However, it seems folk will drag out that old excuse “We were all duped” (as in the case of Iraq). Except in the Sevco case there were good sources outside the MSM (aka bampots) who raised questions.
So I don’t feel sorry for these particular “victims”. Great work, Phil.
Celtic have never been beaten in 90 minutes by Rangers. That is the fact that hurts the most.
Excellent information Phil as per,Eric Hay’s comments below are that of real sevco fan,Soothing lies or The Honest Truths?Well,I know what queue he will be in.He also,is on a much better prescription than me,I’m not having it,I’m not.I’ve a good mind tae tell my MP,but he’s a tory twat,so I’d get absolutely no sympathy there.
Bad news, well received SCHADENFREUDE YA BAMS.?????????????????☮️
Would anyone know why I cannot get the tune for that old detective show ‘The Rockford Files,’to stop and decease,it’s incessantly in ma napper ……NURSE!!!
PLEASE note I’m trying to have a laugh, however, mental illness is NO laughing matter,NONE whatsoever.I thought I’d never be affected by it;I was so,so wrong.
So,please excuse me if anyone has taken offence. That was never my intention.
As I said I’m just joking,M?
And Phil, you’ve been using some fine words of late and I’ve had to refer to a dictionary for some of them. You see your work is FANtastic and enlightening.
I’ve started using words learned from your site elsewhere, some that are a tad obscure, adding….that’s a PMGBism in brackets.Credit, where it is due, molto grazie.
Thanks again.YNWA?????✅????
There is an alternative to schadenfreude
Phil.
We all know this but it’s perhaps the less traveled road. 1 Corinthians 13 . Line 6
From my own experience, the immediate addictive pleasure of Schadenfreude satisfies the distorted self .
The more virtuous way , the way my forefathers behaved , better serves the soul.
Hail Hail
Asking this because I simply don’t know. Does GB have an extradition treaty with SA? If so would it cover the likes of the King charges?
The Sevco blogging site Davie’s left peg has published an article questioning the loyalty of Sevco fans to dave king.
I have feared for some time now that they would waken up to the reality of who and what DK is.
Fingers crossed that they either don’t read it or if they do, they are just as hostile to the site as they are to this one.
The gullibillies catching on is not what any of us want. I know it’s all a bit late in the day, however, I like the idea of them bleating and whining that “naebudy telt us” when the balloon goes up.
Wow this man uses so many big words he must be right.
Love my my daily fix reading your site Phil. The truth and nothing but the truth.
Happy 10th anniversary, Phil.
I have only in the last few months began checking out your blog, superb.
I spent a good few hours visiting your archive in relation to the previous love fest between the general and the glib shameless liar, this afternoon, quality time indeed. I guess I knew I was being lied to by the smsm, but the level of their deceit is unfathomable.
Go raibh maith agat, tu e an fear!
Great journalism again everything will come out in the wash Revenge is best served cold i can’t get your book we’re is best place to source it ???????????
Finished the book by the poolside today Phil. Very enjoyable fast paced read. The way a thriller should be.
A few points if I may, without revealing any of the plots to those who are reading or have still to read. Perhaps you can explain the omission of A couple of incidents?
1. The old plod – we read what happens in passing but it wasn’t detailed in the story.
2. Similarly, the arse shot.
Were these editorial changes?
I’m glad you enjoyed The Squad.
1 & 2 were not editorial calls.
That is how I wrote the action.
The idea was to surprise the reader by presenting these events in the past tense.
So no share offer, no merchandising revenue as the strips fly out the door, not, no Morelos to China for £12m, King as banker of last resort with those pesky SA exchange rules preventing him getting money out of the country. More money being thrown at a very grateful legal fraternity.
King could get their POTY award for his contributions.
Qualification for Europa Cup Group Stage is now a necessity, not a nice to have, otherwise they will be running on fumes well before Xmas.
Despite having to shell out £3m to SD, then pay over the odds for Ashley’s shares, then find out that Mike is still calling the shots, no one in the Scottish media has the guts to have a real go at King for his gross mismanagement of the merchandising contract, amongst other things.
Of course this is the same media that couldn’t wait to convey the news that King had sent Ashley down the road with a very bloodied nose!
Duped again. When will the Scottish media grow a pair and start to report the truth instead of the PR crap being handed down to them by Level 5.
From the Motherwell billionaire to King’s victory over Ashley our media has made a laughing stock of themselves.
They have no credibility, none at all.
Soon most of them will be without a job, sympathy for them will be thin on the ground.
Good news phil. Tried to get your book but it’s sold out in Waterstones In Stirling. Will getting before I go on holiday in September.
I hope you enjoy it.
The feedback so far has been very positive.
I understand that there is another print run in a few weeks.
I’m going to head over to Ibrokes next week with a stall, just off the PRW next to the District.
I shall be selling sky hooks, long stands, left handed screwdrivers and exclusively doughnut middles.
I had a petzl skyhook and also a long stand. I’ve aslo
used tartan paint, it’s just red FYI.
Mind the tins of Tartan paint!
What about tartan paint? You will shift a few pallets of that stuff as well to the guillabillies
HH
Dont forget the Rangers(IL) Tartan Paint , Graham Roberts and Gazza,s (wife beater, but its ok because i am one of the peepul) imaginary flute. These Gullibillies will buy anything as long as its Anti Catholic, Anti Celtic or Anti Irish. (They are all not the same, but try telling them or the excuse we have for a scottish media).
Im not a bigot , but i really dont care who beats THEM.
Incidentally the TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow was HAD to be put over two weekends because of the so called traditionalists.
One music Festival brings millions of welcome revenue into the City, THE OTHER, Sucks it all away.
Answers on a postcard to Glasgow City Council.
I fell for the old long stand and sky hook gig as a 16 year old apprentice painter and decorator.
I have it on good authority that phoneless cords, solar-powered light bulbs, and steam-powered tellies are de rigeur with the Ibrox faithful. Failing that, if you have any friends in the Turkish shirt manufacturing business, a phone call there wouldn’t go amiss.
I should have mentioned in my earlier post that the information which you provide here reaches a wider audience than those who read the site.
I have friends who always ask me when I see them, “what’s the latest from Phil Mac” or “what’s yir man in Donegal saying “. I break down the salient points for them (they miss out on your humour, however, that’s their problem ) and we have a good laugh and chat about it. You can almost smell the schadenfreude.
The Sevco saga has become part of my everyday life now. The sheer enjoyment of knowing what so, so many of their followers don’t know or don’want to know is so sweet.
I know that there are many who cannot bring themselves to listen to C1SSB, and I understand why. I look forward to it. Listening to the utterly delusional gullibillies (those phoning in and those in the studio) either believing or trying to convince themselves that that the club is just about to turn the corner and put the bad days behind them. With Gerrard they believe that they can see light at the end of the tunnel. I sit with a Cheshire cat grin on my face. I know what they don’t, in reality it’s a really big f*****g train coming in the opposite direction.
Finally, I lived in Govan for a number of years when I was young and have very fond memories of it. In fact, I can still remember the night in our house in Carmichael St when the news broke about the Ibrox disaster. Stunned silence. It was very real to us as the stadium was not that far away. It’s your site phil and you can refer to the gullibillies as you see fit. However, when all’s said and done, it is something of broad brush term.
The klan is a self-selecting subculture.
Membership is volitional.
I was referring to “Govanites”.
As I said, it’s your site.
Why don’t you and your obvious anti rangers scum go do one. It’s still Glasgow rangers it’s still ibrox. You lot tried to kill us off and we still came in our thousands we still watched our rangers UEFA and fifa still recognise us as the same club. Sevco is just an ugly name as is newco so go and investigate how many times Celtic changed their name to prevent themselves being shut down. Get a life you leach and leave our club alone
Anti Rangers scum? why read the site?. I would suggest you visit Companies House, (clearly states “Glasgow Rangers Football Club”In Liquidation) rather than the Daily Record or Scottish Sun for your insights as to who was responsible for Glasgow Rangers demise. The club currently playing out of Ibrox (which may or not still belong to Craig Whyte)is listed as “The Rangers International Football Club”.Slight difference ,dont you agree?. Alternatively go to Youtube and type in “Explaining debt to a Hun”. (probably more appropriate).
I have no problem understanding the words Phil uses.
It may have something to do with the schools that I attended.
Well said, sir! I was talking to the fairies at the end of my garden this morning and they are in complete agreement with you.
Your old club died and YOU failed to save it!
it’s about to repeat itself with your new club!
The rest of Scottish football will watch on in pleasure…
Oh, dear! Did somebody piss in your cornflakes this morning?
Eric,
Check Celtic on companies house. 1 company registration number.
Check Rangers FC (in liquidation ) 1 company registration number.
Check The Rangers international football club. 1 company registation number.
Any ideas why that might be the case?
The patron saint indeed, nobody comes close
Congratulations on 10 iar.
I think I started reading around 2013/14. I’ve never searched the archive, however, I intend to. I’m looking forward to reading your first article.
I have never thought of myself as having an addictive personality. I can indulge in things when I feel I want to and abstain in the same manner. However, like other regular readers, I do like my daily (if I can get it) fix of your illuminating articles on the clusterfuck of an omnishambles that was Rangers and the tribute act Sevco. A couple of days hiatus and I start to get withdrawal symptoms.
Keep up the good work. As has been said by many, it’s absolutely essential given the misinformation that is regularly put out by the so called “news” papers.
Your comment made me laugh out loud!! I too feel the addictive disappointment when there is not a daily update!!
Skewer the Klan with the truth!!
Hail Hail!
Keep up the good work Phil. Smsm are a disgrace and the jaffas don’t like the truth. Celtic fans are lucky to have Brendan as the manager. Those of us who enjoy the blogs are lucky to have you to turn to for the truth. ???
Great work again Phil.
You may have answered elsewhere, so excuse me, but I’m reading that this latest contracted ended on 4th July, so how do SDI get to keep their contracted rights In perpetuity??
Disclaimer: IANAL. I would surmise that by inviting bids while the contract was still in force, they triggered the “SDI must be advised of the terms of any bid and given an opportunity to match them” clause. There also appears to be some dubiety as to whether the notification was given in the prescribed manner (each of the three constituent parts identified separately).
IMAGINE: A photo album covering from Squinty getting hooked by plod to the hard Brekshit snibby uppy to unshaven, peering sideywise through chickenwire.
The music glides away from “Only Make Believe”
John Lennon will always be magic.
Dreams will come true.
Mark Twain has a wonderful way with words, a bit like yourself.
As does Jung.
I think that these gullible fuckers don’t have the intellectual capacity to understand what these giants have said.
“Stupid is as Stupid does.” Yip that’s them alright. You have been telling them for years.
Right billyboys ,MAC Giolla Bain is blogging again, underpants on heads, check, pencils up nose , check, fingers in ears, check, shout out incessantly la la la la la.
This has been especially magic over the past few weeks. Many thanks.
Mr MacLennan is NOT fit & proper?
But Mr King is ?
The irony is off the radar.
Dearie me…
The actual facts are always there above or below the surface , and you have lit them up , time and time again , throughout all the tangled threads of this total clusterfuck .
There have been no spectacular headlines for the sake of sensationalism, just what it looks like ,and what is actually happening.
I have looked at this from the point of view if it was one of theirs covering the on going story if it was us that was in their position. I don’t think I would believe it purely from the fact that I would see their man as adversarial ,however ,if he continued over a period of years to have been proven to be right time and time again, and if he continued to be right ,then it would be undeniable. Unpalatable ,certainly , but you would need to concede in the face of the facts ,that it is what is actually happening.
For them there is the rub ,you are the enemy ,you are there to undermine them, its not the storyline its the storyteller ,the facts are incidental to that.
They cant see past that ,they cant see if they had actually taken on board what you have revealed on here , they could have acted on it to their common purpose. Likewise their so called press ,we malign them for their subservient coverage of all things sevco, and rightly so ,its nothing short of a fkn disgrace to their profession the way they conduct themselves.
However in truth its suits us ,the more lies and shite they spread and cover up ,the better it is for us really. Thanks for what you do ,keep doing it Phil ,it has integrity ,its factual ,and its fkn ballsy. Be lucky John
It beggars belief he way Mr King accuses others of bullying yet used his club mouthpiece to persistently harass (definition of bullying) people in authority for nonexistent or insignificant reasons.
That ‘deflection statement’ would be a classic case of ‘Pot and Kettle’ if it weren’t for the fact that the pot is orange and they speak different languages…
If only British prisons did those Guantanamo Bay boiler suits!
Then fishy Dave and his cohorts could languish in their favourite colour 24/7 and 365 days of the year… and for many many years hopefully.
For any bear that still doesn’t get it, I suggest they have a look at para 47 of the latest judgement:
I was shown a document attached to the witness statement of Mr. Blair in opposition to the application for an injunction today, which suggests that in fact the contract to date has been loss making.
In other words Dave King negotiated away a deal that supposedly made Rangers 7 pence in the pound, for one that made them nothing. And swapped a deal that they could get out of by giving 7 years notice for one that they are stuck with until Sports Direct choose to walk away. And paid 3 million pounds of season ticket money for the privilege of doing so.
It looks like those Orange Tops are going to give a nice little Xmas bonus down Shirebrook way.
But loss-making for whom? Parties to a contract should act in good faith. If there’s been any enthusiastic promotion of the SD-related deal by their Sevco partner, I may have missed it. Any time I’ve dipped into Brer Dingwall’s site over the last year or so, the level of venom against SD has progressed upwards. And since SD has sales statistics for a number of years past with Sevco (and huge experience with other clubs) it is likely to have a reasonable idea of how much business it would enjoy through a relationship with Sevco conducted in good faith. If Sevco were at fault, it can hardly pray in aid its own misconduct.
Popcorn time.
As I remarked last night, so much of the MSM seems uninterested in genuinely covering Ibrox-based shenanigans in any sort of meaningful way. Leaving you to get ahead of them time and time again… Chapeau! https://theclumpany.wordpress.com/2018/07/07/his-big-mikeness-strikes-again/
Clumps, when you do non-parody blogs, they are gems. ?
