Football Blogging Awards Finalist 2018

I’m delighted to have made the cut in the Football Blogging Awards.

I am a finalist in the Best International category.

To all of those of ye who voted for me go raibh míle maith agaibh!

I have looked at the other finalists and it is fair to say that I am in very good company.

Indeed, I am the only representative in that category from Planet Fitba.

Consequently, I would appreciate your support once more.

This blog is now ten years old.

The content has helped to create three books and inspired two stage plays.

As a journalist living in another country, I have inadvertently found myself providing a translation service to the guid folk o Planet Fitba.

This site has been an accidental success and that is down to you the reader.

Míle buíochas!

The voting is now open and closes at 10.00pm on May 7th.

You can vote via the Football Blogging Awards website and Twitter.

It is very simple to vote on the latter platform.

Just put the following into a tweet:

@TheFBAs

I am voting in @theFBAs for @Pmacgiollabhain to win the #FBAINTERNATIONAL category #FBAs

  1. Congrats for making the cut Phil, i’ll be voting again.
I hope Gerrard doesn’t land the prestigious job at the crumbledome as I rated him highly throughout his playing career and I wouldn’t enjoy seeing him put to the sword by the mighty Glasgow Celtic. He will get a shock when he sees the team he has to work with and finds out that the word warchest is just a word.
I suppose that if he wants to get into the management business then he might as well start at the bottom. 🙂
P.S Always thought Stevie was a Celtic fan and that’ll get thrown at him if things don’t go as the sevconians think they deserve. HH

  3. So King of the chislers Mr King himself and Frank Cannon at Level 5 have spun a belter with the Stevie G story .Every Benny on the planet is now running with it including the ringside Bennys SMSM.S. So that should shift a few more season books as the bigots don’t know any better .And so all of this feelgood factor fake news all the cash these tramps owe people and they push out all this players and so called managers on megabucks money down south and the Bennys can attract them .They have the middle of a doughnut to their name but are going to bring all these so called big hitters . Myself I think it’s more like the skitters.

  4. Well done Phil.
I see that lovely Alison McConnell in the ET talking about Stevie G replacing Pedro at Ibrox.
Apparently Pedro vacated the position as opposed to being fired.
Not sure how she would describe the Hat’s demise….oh, that’s right, King volunteered him to stand down.

  6. Voted.

Given the large gap you’re filling, and the understated humour that seasons your stories, I think you’d be a worthy winner.
