Grand plans and Chinese whispers

Mr David Cunningham King is in Glasgow.

The Sevco High Command were expecting him next week,

However, he turned up unannounced and they were rather wrong-footed by his dramatic entrance.

This is classic King.

He likes to unsettle folk just before a negotiation.

The anti-King faction within the Sevco High Command is in something of a bind regarding the convicted criminal.

It is given that they want him to Do Walking Away.

The Take Over Panel ruling makes him toxic and they know it.

However, they also need him to pitch to The People.

Quite frankly there isn’t anyone in the Blue Room who can muster the same chutzpah.

If anyone can sell a money-raising wheeze to The People then it is King.

The acquisition of Charly Musonda on an 18-month loan deal from Chelsea is a massive coup for Celtic and Brendan Rodgers.

When this news broke yesterday Mr King was less than ecstatic.

He summoned his inter-galactic PR guru and told him to fix the back page on this.

He did.

This was the Barrie McKay to RB Leipzig story with added hallucinogens.

Young Master Murts was similarly briefed before the presser today.

Of course, there was no likelihood of any awkward questions on the Morelos fairy story.

You need journalists for that, not obedient stenographers.

The prosaic truth is that since the window opened Señor Alfredo José Morelos Aviléz has been offered to any club in England wishing to part with £5m.

However, “no reasonable offer” would be rejected if most of the cash was paid up front.

That is what the clubs in England were told by Sevco’s representatives.

If nothing happens on the front then the high-Level narrative will be:

“We held firm. We are not a selling club. We are financially strong.”

The only thing that would destabilise this spin would be the intervention of a journalist.

So safe enough then…

This transfer window for Sevco was meant to be all about getting guys out of the door and off the wage bill.

That was especially the case for Pedro’s high earners.

At the time of writing, they have loaned out Carlos Alberto Peña Rodríguez and saved £10k per week on his bloated salary and Danny Wilson has been released to the MLS.

So instead of lowering the wage bill they have actually increased it.

It is worth noting that the loan fee for Musonda (£1.5m) would have been enough to acquire the services of Jamie Murphy without the embarrassing climbdown by Sevco.

Of course, the basket of assets doesn’t have that kind of money, but they have to pretend to The People that they do.

The Sevco High Command wanted a sit-down with their chairman because he hadn’t come up with the cash that he had promised.

King’s latest excuse is that his current legal difficulties with the Take Over Panel and the Court of Session are preventing him from making good on his promise to cover the operating costs.

As for The People, well Dave is going to rouse them to a Churchillian frenzy and get them to contribute what he was supposed to in the first place.

Dave’s grand plan for Sevco since the Off Licence Putsch has always been about OPM.

He isn’t fussed who coughs up to fund his Ibrox venture as long as it isn’t him.

A constant in this Sevco saga is the mind-altering credulity of The People.

Without them, very little of this unedifying shambles would have happened.

  1. A cursory search of the initial Chinese team mentioned showed they had their full compliment of foreign players ,non of which were up for transfer. Their most expensive player by some considerable margin cost £4.5M ,their average player value is approx. £600K.
The second team mentioned is newly promoted , again with its full compliment of foreign players and again average player value under £1M.
The whole thing is just a total crock of Dodo shit .
I long since gave up on the media here ,and stopped my subscription to the channel jim white pedals, but to see that channel featuring this as some sort of exclusive ,is a new low even for them. jim white and charlie nicholas as back up ,there,s a fkn win double.
And as Phil predicted they have “proved” their not a selling club , and are also so financially sound they don’t need the £7M now ,when they can get £10M in the summer (as per last nights Clyde 1 phone in ).
Sizeable zombie hordes are wearing this as well, FFS ,again , even for them. be lucky John

  2. Is it just me or does the whole Morales PR Scam show what little care or respect Sevco shows to its players and also to their families? Some feel good story dreamed up to satisfy the gullible chlorophobes isn’t without its victims for want of a better word. Mr 8m Morales could be thinking he and his family could be secure for life on the kinda deal that was bandied about in the Press. So now he will be unsettled as will his family. Personally I don’t give a flying f..k about any Sevco player. You take their money (albeit in instalments) you take your chances. Irrespective I just don’t think it’s any way to treat your “employees”. Just indicative of the unholy Sevco, media alliance

    • I count a few Hispanic males and females in my friends and associates column. Trust me, they would be suing to be allowed to collect ten times their salaries at $8 an hour. Having read Phil’s report on the Banner Headliner the desperation was dripping from the ink spots.

  4. The Chinese connection, or not, is hot news for Level 5’s delivery boys.
Murty tonight is quoted as saying that Morelos is a little confused and unsettled by all the chit chat.
Never get Newco unsettling a player or a manager of another team as they are far too classy for that type of behaviour, would we?
What goes around, comes around Murty.
So that’s it, no one has been sold or freed.
But hey that Chinese market is open for another month so expect plenty of gibberish from our media as they talk up the virtues of Alfredo.
Who knows, they may even stumble across a Chinese team who have not taken up their quota of non Chinese nationals.
The Fat Controller’s billings must be through the roof as he greases the wheels of the Scottish media.
It’s not easy keeping all those plates spinning.
Just heard Jim White on Sky now quoting the latest Chinese bid at £8m but Newco have not blinked. Perhaps the Chairman is hoping to squeeze the Chinese for another few million which might be enough to make his wee Court Of Session problem go away!

A wee bit off topic, but I was in a supermarket next to the stadium John Brown played for.To my surprise a noticed a copy of Minority Reporter.I picked it up and true to form, many of the pages were destroyed. We know of course who destroys books. There was a lot of it in Germany in the 1930’s.In this case the followers of a certain Bridgeton Fascist and KKK member, whose theme song is the equivalent the Nazi anthem Horst Wessel.

  6. Dave King is here to steady the ship after all these “misleading” stories by the Bampots about impending administration! Nobody’s going anywhere till he has bled the gullibilies dry! The article from Chris Jack covering Club 1690’s desperate pleas to the Peepul to put their hands in their pockets (even a fiver would help- oh man alive such mirth) and then get their families &friends to do the same was just comedy gold! This from a club/company/whatever who “have no financial worries” and who can turn down a £7m bid for one of their players! Well wait till the next payroll run, leccy bill, catering bill or facepainters bill becomes due and you’re out again with the begging bowl to the RRM on the board for another loan and see how that works out for you. Davy boy has absolutely no intention of honouring his promises, made in the clubs financial statement, to give away £7m smackeroonies of his own money to the cause. He will do his level best though, to get everyone else, including the fans, to cough up! Looking at all this you have to wonder how they can avoid administration – brown paper bags of used notes anyone?

    • Dave King was the only person to spend money in the Minty Moonbeam years and he wants his 20 million pounds worth. Like The Black Knight, DCK has fallen on hard times. If he thinks Sevco are that close to big European money he will hang on for dear life. Of course The Spangled Banner in the Works could pay him off. if he has a mind. There is one way to heal this toxic fraudulent club but I will never reveal it anywhere. They should have been shut down and only The Primrose Pledge is keeping the Zombie staggering around the game.

    • Given the propensity for Jack to talk up everything Newco, using the ET as his vehicle, one can only presume that 50% of his wages are paid by the Ibrox club.
You have to hand it to the boy when it comes to bigging up even a modicum of good news whilst deftly sidestepping anything that could be construed as negative.

  7. Odd that Murts states emphatically in today’s pressser that More-or-Less-Useless is definitely in tomorrow’s squad to play Fraserburgh’s chippies and sparkies after a mid-week shift on a slopey non-league pitch. Surely a reckless school boy error from the new Sepp-Jurg-Jose wunderkind when a higher bid may arrive any moment from the mystery Chinese gentlemen – or perhaps they won’t mind an injury or two – given their eagerness to bag such a superstar.

Or does Murts know the bid is total unicorn shite from start to finish – so business as usual on the pitch.

Was that a wee parting dig from Wilson, the bit about visions of the future?

  9. Money may be running out at Ibrox, but so are games if they are seriously hoping for 55.

With 14 games left and 46 pts earned, Sevco can reach 88 pts if they win all 14 remaining games.

To win on points rather than goal difference, Celtic need 29 pts from 13 games to reach 89 pts. That could be 10 wins vs Sevco’s 14. Wins. And of course, one is a head to head.

Or Celtic can be Champions on 9 wins and 2 draws to Sevco’s 14 wins.

And if Celtic choke horribly while Sevco soar spectacularly, there is always the enigmatic Aberdeen to consider as hun heart breakers. They are neck and neck with Sevco so far, so can’t be discounted despite their tragic performances vs Sevco. All in all, you’d need to have a very particular view of the world to consider 55 as little more than a very unlikely statistical improbability.

  12. Gary Ralston on CSSB said he did a bit of investigating and it’s all true. I tried to get through to the SSB desk monkey as i wanted to ask Gary a few questions… 1, how far his investigative journalism took him, ie, Who he spoke with at Sevco, 2, did they name the club involved, 3, did he see a fax confirming the offer or follow up by phoning said club.

    never got through.

  14. I see Morelos worth has dropped a good £3m in the space of a week. The Daily Rectum had him at £10m last week. I wonder if his agent was asking for a re-appraisal of his wage structure aligning it with his newfound value. I’m pretty sure the first person to turn up with a£1m cash would walk away with Morelos contract…..(probably thinking he’d been fleeced)…

    • The club stated they wanted £10m, the Chinese club offered £7m. That’s not a devaluation. Celtic offered £500k for Jack Hendry, Dundee valued him higher and now say Celtic have paid a club record, which would be more than the £1.2m they received selling Rab Douglas to Celtic.

Strangely the media in Britain is always imagined to be Right Wing but the same people in the USA are left wingers. Watch The Donald and see how he is dealing with the Masons in the SWAMP. He is taking them all down, which is why the globalist media hate him and FYI the prophecies state that they WILL take him down as they will the three Presidents who follow him. The whole thing is a LODGE PODGE of corruption. Remember too, Scottish Rites Freemasonry is the big thing globally. That is why Scotland is also going down.

The same journal states that Murts thinks Morelos has had “his head turned” by the offer. Daily Express Journalist Bruce Archer is credited with the story. 21. Or to put it another way, how bloody stupid are Chinese football managers and DoFs to offer £7m for More-or-Less-Useless. Have they never heard of Transfermarkt.com which has him down for £1.0m. So much for Chinese inscrutibility and their reputation for genetic business acumen.

I’m gonna look their phone number up on the web and ask 10% commission to save them £6m. Eezzee money.

Or maybe I’ll just have to explain what’s going on because they have never heard of More-or-Less-Useless and have never had a phone call from the UK about him before – not even from a newspaper – and we’ll have a good laugh about Scotland’s biggest club and those silly free press chappies and freedon o speech and other alien things.

Its handy to know what shite the record, herald/evening times print. Otherwise i would never have known.

Its scary but unsursprising that the Musonda deal didnt get top billing on the backpage.

If nobody takes a couple players off their hands. Surely it wil mean the figure needed to see the season out will be higher.

Do you think they are preparing ground for a pre pack admin, into it while many eyes are on World Cup and out of it not long after the final?

Will they obtain their Uefa license first and get in and out of admin in time? And obviousky the SFA will cover for them?
