Surrounded by concomitants

The entire McInnes debacle has provided further evidence of the amateurish nature of the Sevco High Command.

Indeed, the Off Licence Putsch and all that has followed it could be used as a case study into the Dunning–Kruger effect.

Quite simply the folk who seized power in March 2015 didn’t have any experience in running a major football club.

However, they didn’t think it would be this difficult.

The people who were ousted in March 2015 were genuine professionals who knew what it took to run a large football club.

Derek Llambias had plenty of hands-on experience at Newcastle United.

He was Big Mike’s man.

Now it is true that the Toon Army detest Ashley and all of his minions.

However, the St James’ Park outfit has not gone bust under the stewardship of Big Mike.

What happened at Sevco in March 2015 was an underfunded hostile takeover.

The new regime instantly made an enemy of Ashley.

Bad move.

Since then a toxic combination of hubris, mendacity and rank amateurishness has meant that the Sevco High Command has taken almost every wrong turn imaginable.

The attempt to secure the services of Derek McInnes is right up there with the worst of them.

One of the unforeseen consequences of this clusterfuck might be a change in the stance of Stewart Milne.

When the Supreme Court ruled on the EBT scam earlier this year the Aberdeen chairman was rather forgiving about those fraudulent titles.

If that issue comes to the fore again then he might change his stance.

One thing the Sevco High Command has been very good at since March 2015 has been the ability to make enemies.

As I have stated here passim the McInnes affair should be a teachable moment for the chaps in the Blue Room and for The People.

Since Pedro tendered his Warburton resignation several managers with an emotional attachment to Ibrox have had a look at the job and decided to Do Walking Away.

Why?

Of course, the usual suspects in the sports desks will be posted missing when that question needs to be asked.

The belief among The People that the Ibrox job is one of the most coveted in world football.

After all, it is “the Rainjurrz”.

Well, actually it is Sevco, a five-year-old club that is a loss-making business without a credit line from a bank.

The current chairman, a convicted criminal who is not noted for his veracity, has promised to cover their losses for the next 12 months.

However, if he isn’t good to his word then Sevco is in a very bad place indeed.

For the avoidance of doubt, it is a situation full of concomitant dangers.

A board with even a modicum of competence would be able to detect that.

Having failed to land McInnes the statement from the Holding Company Vehicle was a massive PR own goal.

It was a faux pas of such proportions that it even registered with The People.

It was one of those rare events, like a solar eclipse, when the home crowd at Ibrox see what the rest of us can see all year round.

That statement is what you get when you put a criminal narcissist together with a PR rookie.

As I have stated, the McInnes affair should be a teachable moment for everyone connected with Ibrox at the moment.

However, dear reader, we both know that will not happen.

  1. Good informative reading. Well done the three T’s. TicToc & Ted !! Ya like the wee pun!!

Anyway guys and the other contributors on the Phoenix from Sevco, your delivery of facts was superb.

I actually feel versed enough to now challenge Sevconians anywhere that may still be of the mindblock that they are the same team.

Very informative guys. Well done and thanks.

  2. So if you went to old dead Rangers FC as a player and gave them several years and loads of games, moved into coaching then management and are trying to make your honest way in the world, then kindly decline an approach by new Sevco, the dirty rotten bar stewards character assassinate you and your abilities that your livelihood relies upon.

Every former Rangers player needs to come out like Barry Ferguson and rage against the disgraceful statement. Otherwise all of them are merely grist to Glib’s wheel.

  3. So if McInnes hadnt bottled it, Aberdeen could be temporarily top on 39pts and Rangers fifth on 27pts – and he says he has nothing to be guilty for – so he certainly wasn’t found lacking in the mig welding proof brass neck by the ibrox interview panel

  4. Jabba throwing glib under a bus.
Open season on the spiv patter twat.

Jabbas pals in press pointing concomitant at glib thus letting Jabba off the hook.

But Jabba’s dabs are all over the McInnes media circus.

  5. the only glimmer of hope I see for sevco is that King is ejected by Lord B’s judgement and The Three Bears apply their business skill and combined resources to run a realistic, break even club. But perhaps T3B have had a belly full already and perhaps they lack objectivity when it comes to Ibrox. Their SWAT analysis would need to embrace a crumbling stadium, legal challenge over ownership, crazy fan expectations, faltering SMSM crowd control, merchandise issues etc etc

  6. Setting the concert party aside, can I ask what happened to our own investment from the Arabs who enjoyed our Palestinian flag show? It was very close last time you mentioned it.

      • I don’t want any far off investment. Not that I or any ordinary punter like me can stop it. But don’t bastardise our club and let people with big bucks from far away control us.

The moment of reckoning will come one for all the English clubs who have let this happen to them.

  7. Has an invoice or even a payment gone missing in the Intergalactic Postal System? I only ask because it appears to me that most of MSSM has not been forgiving towards the Ibrox debacle over Derek McInnes today. With a lot of flak directed at THAT statement. You would almost believe Ibrox seems to be experiencing a PR vacuum. Is it temporary?

  8. Phil – you miss the point. They are real Rangers men and they arra peepul n’at. Those are the only things that matter in the saf supremacist-delusionist fantasy world that they live in. You can be as incompetent, glib and/or as shameless as you like. As long as you can wear the the blue blazer and brown brogues of dignity in a manner befitting a real Rangers man (which seems to be red-faced and foaming at the mouth these days), all is well with the world and anything that isn’t is just more evidence of the global papist Timmy conspiracy. Wonder how many Google checks there were of which school Stewart Milne went to this week?

    • Ted,

Sevco is a five year old company created off the shelf by Charles Green in 2012 which then acquired the assets of Rangers 1872(IL). This basket of assets then applied for a “new licence” from the SFA in order to enter the SPFL at the bottom tier. Such was the speed of this application they had to be granted a “temporary licence” in order to compete in the Petrofac Cup – a licence that previously never existed and had to be invented just for them

I trust this answers your question..

      • Ted/Shim, in the interests of absolute truth and accuracy I’ve added some clarification.
Sevco (Scotland Limited) was granted a ‘conditional’ licence, a licence which was indeed invented to suit the circumstances of the time. Sevco was NOT a football club and had NO history whatsoever. It was an off-the-shelf company which acquired the assets of the club/company (one and the same after being incorporated in 1899) known as The Rangers Football Club PLC
Sevco was admitted (not relegated/demoted) to the lowest tier of Scottish professional football as part of a huge scam to pretend “rangers” actually continued. They didn’t. They died as they were assigned to Liquidation for having huge, unpaid debts that they could not repay. Just ask Sir David Murray. Having attained the “conditional licence”, Sevco Scotland Limited (not ANY form of “rangers” played its FIRST EVER football match against Brechin on 29th July 2012. Two days later, on 31st July 2012, Sevco Scotland Limited changed its name to The Rangers Football Club Limited and has no actual connection to the old, dead Rangers. THAT’S WHAT REALLY HAPPENED, but you wont read THAT in the Scottish Mainstream Media as it’s populated with lying, bitter supporters of the dead club.
All of this is irrefutable and can easily be proven by accessing information already in the public domain, but not publicised in Scotland. Scotland’s shame, indeed.

        • Thanks Tic Toc for that comprehensive account of events in 2012. It seems clear to me that the Rangers that signed Brian Laudrup is not the same Rangers that signed Bruno Alves . Again, many thanks for clearing that up for me

          • You’re very welcome, Ted and I hope others have learned something too.
It’s ALL about the truth, regardless of who may lose from it being made public. I’ve made a bit of a study of this as, to me, it’s imperative that the truth comes out and is admitted/respected by all. I’ve learned much from Phil and the many on here who give enlightening comment. I also read Downfall last year which clarifies much. I also do my own research/double-checking as I trusted my Dad’s advice that all singular statements are generally only that; one person’s point of view, and MUST be corroborated. Cheers.

        • Unfortunately Phils site does not allow copy paste but if you Google ” Neil Doncaster and the Birth of Monster Myths on CQN Magazine” an even more accurate picture will emerge.

For example SPL rules had no such concept as an owner separate from an operator until 2005 and Doncaster used the definition established then for other purposes to create the operating company myth that is part of the 5 Way Agreement.

Oh and it was a “Conditional SFA Membership” that was granted to cover the gap until RFC lost their SPL SHARE and so their SFA Membership leaving it free to be transferred to Sevco.

A licence is an annual event and is renewed each year and is dependent on a number of criteria being met.

I’ve tried many time to articulate my take on events but never with any degree of competence. Your articulation, sums things up perfectly for me, do you mind if I use it in future to educate others ?

          • Al, be my guest. The more who know the truth the better.

Rontim, the “one more aspect” you ask for actually takes some explaining (especially in writing) and I don’t have time to do it right now. Someone else will hopefully help with the full background of how/why RIFC PLC was added to the mix.

        • How are they getting away with just adding “The” to the previous entity’s name, becoming The Rangers instead of Rangers, having the same crest/logo and playing in the same colours ?
It was my understanding that to stop companies shutting down just to renage on their debts only to pop back up again as something very similar was illegal ?
