An Irish centre for Glasgow?

The possibility of Glasgow once more having an Irish centre moved  a step closer this week.Tony Cusack of the Emerald Centre in Leicester told me he was delighted to welcome Danny Boyle,Project Manager with the Harps community project, down for a week of fact finding.

Tony said: “We have a very successful Irish centre here and we hope that Danny can take some valuable lessons back to Glasgow.”

Danny Boyle added: “This is an important fact finding trip and we are very grateful for the help that has been already offered to us by Tony Cusack and the people involved with the Irish centre in Leicester. It is a stated policy objected of our project to establish an Irish centre in Glasgow. We already have had exploratory discussions with Glasgow City council and the Scottish government about the centre and, although early days, we are very encouraged about the supportive response at both city and national government level.”
