Today was the shareholders’ meeting for the Ibrox entity created in 2012.
It was transparency of a kind.
Not that the assembled throng knows who exactly owns them.

Even if their identities aren’t known, we do know what drives them.
It’s about the Dollars.
Always the Dollars.
The conclave today was at a city centre hotel, so the surroundings were, at least, comfortable.

I recall the atmosphere fondly in 2014 when the same throng assembled at the stadium Mr John Brown played for.
Huddled in the stands in the depth of December, the frozen punters complained that the entire stage-managed affair had a cheap, well, stage!

They said the structure itself looked tacky.
It was, indeed, the winter of their discount tent.
There were some gems from the top table.
This reference to Klopp is for the ages.

Genuinely funny.
Mr Cavenagh will probably not be aware of what the C Word means down Ibrox way.
Indeed, his “culture eats strategy for breakfast” assertion could be emblazoned in Auchenhowie, where they used to boast of being the training ground of the world’s most successful football club.

Of course, it was once stated, as an assertion, that it was also the establishment that provided a “world-class breakfast”.
It is fair to say that the post-2012 entity might only have provided three major honours but a steady supply of hilarious statements.
Amid the hilarity, there were some moments of genuine interest.

Now, this admission by Mr Marathe about the Castore deal should have the local media investigating the Ts and Cs of the contract.
Here’s a tip for any member of the Stenography Corps who wants to try this journalism lark:
Why did Mike Ashley allow Castore to be the kit supplier of HIS club, Newcastle United?
Would he do that if he had NO beneficial interest in that company?
It wouldn’t be the Ibrox subculture if hubris wasn’t front and centre.
Sadly, this boast on X hasn’t aged well.

I wish the lad from the Azores a speedy recovery.
My information is that there WAS a bid submitted for the player.
I’m told that the initial amount was £17m with £1.75m of add-ons.
If his injury rules him out of a move in this window, then others will have to do the heavy lifting in terms of cash generated from sales.
Remember, dear reader, it’s about the Dollars.
Always the Dollars.
As has been stated here many times, it is worth stating a bit of basic arithmetic:
Celtic have more season ticket holders than there are seats at Ibrox.
This means that, just in terms of that revenue stream, Celtic have an ANNUAL advantage from the start of every campaign.
It also grates with the Ibrox klanbase that the club formed by Irish immigrants have a larger stadium.
Consequently, this sort of softball stuff lands well.

For the avoidance of doubt, there is ZERO chance that “the plans are underway” will come under anything resembling journalistic scrutiny.
However, here’s one they did earlier.

There will be no Blue Peter Badge for that!
The Ibrox klanbase wanted staunch this summer and the Delaware Crew duly delivered.
Be careful what you wish for…

Another annus ouroboros, hope they enjoy watching their cash being eaten away for eternity.
The Delaware Crew will make sure that Sevco doesn’t eat itself. Sustainability is essential for the guys Stateside to make a buck.
It’s about the Dollars.
Always the Dollars.
Would lowering the pitch not just mean digging a big hole?
How apt!
So if they lowered the pitch would they have to build other stands beneath the existing ones, and if so how would the fans above see the near side of the pitch, I don’t understand how this is feasible at all
I am 71 and amazed at the repeat utterances. Lowering the pitch were being ‘pitched’ around when ‘Lazarus’ played for the local ‘Under 12’s’
Scotland had a first class education system that I benefitted from (OLHS 1967-1971), but, with the awareness over the road Amnesia must have been a core subject.
Phil, love how you tear, fold and push away the flannel about future ground plans, gazillions values on players and how this latest new manager will release the shackles holding them back. Here we come the cry…
On a scary note!!
What will we do if “The Rangers” ever find a “Win Jansen”, “Ange Postecoglou”, “Martin O’Neill”, “Brendan Rodgers”??
There must be one out there so why are they not there??
More power to your quill
Hi Phil
Love the eats an nutritioun words from the mouth of Mister Cavendish
So suitable for a new club and team that keeps eating itself
Not just your run of the mill lowered pitch. Oh no, this would be a world class lowered pitch using nothing but the finest materials from around the globe and the finest engineering brains on the planet Timothy.
So, they can lower the pitch without disrupting the game/supporters??? I suppose they could utilise the floating pitch during the world class renovations!!🤭
Good stuff as usual Phil,
Lowering the pitch is a non starter , they have already done that a long time ago , the pitch is as I understand currently just below the Clyde high tide level, so therefore lowering again is a drainage issue . H! H !
“Winter of their discount tent” fantastic Phil!
As funny now as it was first time around. Brilliant stuff.
