So, the Sevco High Command have decided to Röhl the dice on this nice young fella.
For posterity, just in case one day it gets the Error 404 treatment, here’s the full dignified communiqué:

Today it was the turn of the moving picture show.
This presser is quality content.
Once more, Andrew Cavenagh repeated it for the hard of thinking:
“Winning sustainably”.
Always the dollars…
However, with matters Ibrox, other issues often take centre stage.

The decision to go with the young German rather than Mr Muscat probably came down to one thing.
For the avoidance of doubt, it’s about the dollars, always the dollars.
My information is that buying out the Australians’ contract at Shanghai Port would cost £6m.
That’s not quite in the Ange range from Forest, but is still significant.

Add to that Muscat’s signing-on fee and what it cost to sack the Enlightened One, and the total bill rises to £11m.
The good news for Paddy Stewart is that I’m told that the cost of bringing in the young German WON’T come out of his budget.
Obviously, with any Sevco manager, the first item of business must be the severance package.
My information is that Herr Röhl has an iron-clad payoff equivalent to two years’ salary, regardless of how short his time is in the Big House.
That amounts to around £2.3m.
His KPIs are the same as those agreed by the Enlightened One.
Essentially, the job is to stabilise the situation, assess the squad, and improve the younger players to enhance player trading opportunities in the future.
In fairness, the job of Sevco head coach isn’t without its attractions.
Firstly, there’s the World Class Breakfast.
If need be, there is the close protection detail just in case the fans get, well, too close.

The severance package is generous and sets up the lucky loser for a life after Ibrox when they enter the Witless Protection program for ex-Sevco supremos.
Once safely away from there, they can focus on the harmony of the universe.
Om…

Now, dear reader, your humble correspondent has an important task to do this week.
On Friday, as an Irish citizen domiciled in the Republic of Ireland, I will take part in electing my head of state.
Hopefully, this is the last election for Uachtarán na hÉireann that will be restricted by Partition.

The person who represents us on the world stage does so because we, as Irish citizens, decide that in a free and fair election.
Viewers in Scotland have their own programme.
For example, every Westminster MP representing a Scottish constituency, and every MSP, has to swear an oath of allegiance to the Saxe-Coburg Gotha family.

Here is what they have to say:
I swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles, his heirs and successors, according to law. So help me God.
Or they can be all and modern and affirm:
I do solemnly, sincerely, and truly declare and affirm, that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles, his heirs and successors, according to law.
Either way, they’re subjects, not citizens.
If they don’t take part in this ceremony, they’re not admitted to the legislative chamber and, importantly, don’t get a ticket for the gravy train.
Unimpressive.
Have a great week wherever you are.

Anyone else spot the link between Danny and Russell i.e. they were both in management at Southampton ! Now that is spooky ! Are Southampton now a feeder club for Ibrox managers ?
Southampton would’t lower themselves
Phil,
I’ve been out pounding the pavements for our future president for the last month..
At the weekend we will have a good woman at the helm…
Uachtarán Catherine Connolly.
Unlike her establishment opponent Catherine Connolly is genuinely presidential.
No amount of establishment bullshit will stop her now.
Lets hope the momentum of her campaign carries on into the future…
A strong coherent left alliance is what Ireland needs..
Hopefully, that famous Noel Browne conversation with Lemass comes to a close.
I don’t doubt for a second that this fellows coaching credentials are top level. Whether that will translate to transforming a squad of serial losers, misfits and outright duds into winners while experiencing such an – ahem – ‘uniquely challenging working environment’ for the first time remains to be seen. He could turn it round in weeks – or be a gibbering wreck by Xmas…..
“our focus has always been on getting the right person”.
“Unfortunately, our first choice right person said “no” as did our second choice right person. Our third choice right person initially said “no” but changed his mind after our first and second choice right persons also said “no” so we are absolutely delighted to welcome Danny who is absolutely the (third choice) right person (second time around).”
Always the Dollars
