The featured image is a post I made on X after a highly reliable source contacted me on Saturday, August 24th.
I was told that conversations within the Sevco High Command meant that it would not be in Nostradamus territory to imagine a story about imminent investment being leaked to the local media.
Moreover, I’m confident that my source is in a position to know.
Therefore, I am not surprised that this is appearing in the Daily Radar today.
It’s lifted from this piece in CITY AM.
It is worth remembering that the excrement exhibition currently on display at the Copland Stand is a vital part of Operation Lipstick.
As fixing up Ibrox was crucial if a buyer was to be found for the club established in 2012.
Regardless of this story’s provenance or veracity, I’m convinced that the Sevco High Command wants to be rid of the basket of assets.
I can’t say I blame them.
The timing of this story is instructive as this is a problematic week for the brogue traders in the Blue Room.
Across the city, they see Celtic flexing its financial muscles, first by cashing in some of the squad’s equity in the person of Danish international Matthew Sean O’Riley and then making several moves in the transfer market.
It is an open secret that the wealthiest club in Scotland are tracking several signing targets simultaneously before the window closes.
I think it is fair to say this is an appalling vista for the Ibrox Klanbase.
It is quite a thing to observe how racism seems to be their reflexive response to most situations.
It’s almost as if there has been a multi-generational authorisation of xenophobia at the building site on Edmiston Drive.
Almost…
Is the steel COD?, is the plant hire on the never, never?, is Hagi’s contract going to be ‘new & improved’? Is TikTok Todd’s grievance rooted in his belief that he should have been on similar bunce?, why is Testemonial Tav so difficult to shift?, why was Dessers sold without anyone telling him? Are they going to match the St Mirren’ CEO’s wages if sevco snap him up?, is Beale to be believed?, is DK to be believed? Who are the US consortium? I know the answer to these questions because I’m an avid reader of the Scottish Press, no stone unturned…..
Wealth off the radar: the sequel.
“brogue traders” – love it!
The reality is, and we have all seen it, is that when people of substance have shown up in the past on the Govan radar, their staunch illiterates who support this terminal imposter spit their dummies out because their credentials aren’t bigoted enough for them. So, given that they had a quintessentially British billionaire actually in the building metaphorically and watched him leave through their own stupidity and belligerence, I would say there is not much chance of anything stateside being made welcome as new owners.
Given the state of the American economy at present, there is a better chance of Kim Jong Un buying Cantwell to sit on his lap than there is of any Americans stupid enough to throw money at a distressed company who have yet to make a profit in their entire existence turning up wanting to buy them.
Their Bogeyman returns to haunt them the GASL Dave King
One interesting thought about this whole matter……
Whenever it is reported that money is being invested into/begged for! there is never a denial, never a Friday night statement that:
“The financial health of (The) rangers is such we are happy to stay independent”.
“By your silence you Have condemned yourself”.
Ice cream, jelly, popcorn anyone the curtain goes up (Comes Down) soon
There are many ways to value a business,
but I’m b*ggered to know how anyone can ‘report’ £150M for sevco!
It’s not dissimilar to when Rangers FC was up for sale.
It swiftly moved from a £30M sale to a £1 sale to Craig Whyte.
12 years later it’s sevco on the block.
There is inflation to consider.
Maybe a sevco sale would cost £2,
with debts acquired by the buyer / asset stripper?
🙂
The Desiderata . I had this prominently displayed wherever I landed in my career. An excellent code to follow in your life journey. Unfortunately the orcs would find it difficult to understand it. The post from Morty the Moron is an example in point.
As for alleged interest of £150 million, a Daily Arsehole scoop no less, not in this millennium. Morty and the rest of his brothers will be lapping. They should seriously consider the bag of magic beans suggested by a previous poster. You never know!
If there is a £150 million takeover the money won’t be going to the club but the shareholders anyway.
The worm turned a long time ago. Like our forefathers it has taken time. I’ll be taking my grandson to his first game against Falkirk. Hopefully he will keep it going. I have in no way influenced him. I prefer that he finds his way in life himself. He asked me can I go and watch Celtic. Job done. Subtlety is sometimes the best way.
150 million for a crumbling stadium, 10 million loss a year, a losing low asset squad, contracts with who knows who , and has anyone checked their tax situation (serious question)
Can you imagine the due diligence required for this pile of crap !!!
Surely anyone with any sense would wait until they went bust again which can’t be far away !!
447,248,285 Ordinary shares last seen trading at £0.04 for £150m shares would need to trade at £0.335, god bless the poor souls
Odd image for SPFL twitter home page (https://x.com/spfl)….. a player not from current champions….but player from also rans team….
How odd, is there a blue bias there…..
Either there’s a decimal point missing from that number, or it’s been quoted in Morelos Monopoly moonbeams money. If the latter, I think that amount trades at around a family cow, or 10 magic beans at today’s exchange rate.
Must be a derby coming up all the good news stories coming out of Ibrox £150 million takeover , £20 million for Matondo. It’s always been the same and I’ve been following Celtic since 1956.
A cursory look under the hood will scare away any potential buyer
Look back to US buyer being harangued for trying to buy DeadGers!
So sevco are a selling club too now?
I hope any prospective investors are given the songbook in the prospectus alongside the world class breakfasts, succulent lamb and a team full of multi-million £ players. Not bad for a club that only cost a quid.
Buyers must be of staunch character, own at least one pair of brown brogues, know how to shuffle knuckles and be prepared to cheat everyone from the face painter to the reigning monarch. A fondness for goats isn’t compulsory.
The rats are trying to leave a sinking ship. HH
In 12 years Sevco have ran up approximately £140m worth of debt, who would want to buy a newco & spend a further £100m increasing the capacity & then a further £60m on squad improvements.?? Unless… maybe you are a scam artist Tory & or donor who HAS ROBBED THE PUBLIC PURSE for the last 15 years…
A further £60m on squad improvements? Therein lies the problem. If someone is fool enough to buy the shareholding then that money goes directly to those who currently hold the shares, King, Park, club 1690 and anyone else who’s interested in turning worthless pieces of paper into hard cash. Not one penny goes into the club. As for the money for squad improvement, that simply can’t happen due to UEFA FSR, or financial sustainability rules. That’s precisely why they are trying to get bodies out the door and wages down. I know this because I’m a Celtic supporter. These stories are not written for us they are for the “target demographic” and they do swallow it. It would have to be the dumbest rich guy out there that would knowingly take this on.
The problem they will have in selling up and shipping out of the basket of assets is akin to the problem they have in selling some of their (alleged) assets, e.g. Cantwell & Hagi. Nobody wants to buy.
Pig in a poke, anyone!
Always love your way of explaining things✅
