Uncomfortable comparisons and the importance of wellness

Perhaps I should start with the words of Scotland’s most famous Freemason:

“O, wad some Power the giftie gie us

To see oursels as others see us!

It wad frae monie a blunder free us,

An’ foolish notion.”

Getting that súil eile is often vital to realising how you’re doing.

The visit by Newcastle United fans to the stadium that John Brown played for has produced an uncomfortable comparison for the Sevco High Command.

Apparently, the Toon Army are accustomed to better at their beloved St. James’ Park.

Regular readers will know they’re rather touchy down Edmiston Drive about anything that isn’t succulently gushing.

Indeed some in the Blue Room were incensed at the temerity of the Tyneside types to so traduce the Big House.

Of course, I cannot include the Transcendental Chairman amongst that angry fraternity.

While others were ordering that nice Mr Bisgrove “to do something” about these comments, Mr Bennet was an oasis of calm throughout.

Then there’s the proposal for a “wellness room” at Auchenhowie.

I’m told that the club doctor brought up the concept with the tactically brilliant Mr Beale.

My information is that the ex-QPR icon immediately agreed that such a safe space at the training ground would be value added to his charges if they were feeling temporarily overwhelmed.

I’m sure that this excellent idea will meet with the full approval of the Dalai Lama of the Blue Room.

He continues to exert a calming influence on a fractious landscape at Sevco.

  1. Sunday 3rd September that ‘wellness room’ will be heaving as sevco players psyche gets battered and they lick their wounds after Celtic hand them another harsh fitba lesson.
Crucially that’s a game that definitely counts. ie. It’s bugger all like a preseason dead rubber of no importance whatsoever.
The smsm tried to turn that Yokohama defeat into a crisis.
The smsm are absolutely shameful in the fiction they spread, their editors must be as bad as the articles they fabricate are ‘okayed’ on a daily basis.

    • September 3rd. We’ll probably see a lot of Union Flags being waved, Germans being subjected to, “We won the war!” chants, and fantasy songs about Britons ruling the waves. That’ll be the Britons with their two spanking new aircraft carriers that can’t seem to float for more than six months without incurring a problem. That had to take aircraft they weren’t actually designed for, because they couldn’t eventually afford the one that they were designed for. Last I heard, one of them, launched in 2019, was already being cannibalised for parts for the other!! Putin must be shiting himself at the thought of coming up against forces like that!! Wot with them ruling the waves and everything!!
