A hierarchy of racism in Scotland?

So it would appear that at least some types of racism from the Ibrox klanbase will lead to a criminal sanction.

These products of the match day experience on Edmiston Drive had their day in court for the hate crime on the way to Dingwall to watch their beloved  Sevco.

As someone who once served the criminal justice system in Fair Caledonia, I think that they can consider themselves fortunate that a custodial sentence was not imposed.

Kyogo Furuhashi was the target of this hate crime.

Of course, racist hatred is not unknown amongst the Ibrox klanbase.

Indeed, it is what essentially defines them.

Anti-Irish racism, to be forensically precise.

That is why they think that the genocidal crime of An Gorta Mór is hilarious.

I cannot imagine any other group of football supporters in 21st-century Britain coming up with the Famine Song.

The 21st-century…

It is for the same reasons that they also think that this guy is a hero.

Bully Fullerton was a self-identifying fascist and a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

Unlike his brethren in the United States, the Catholic Irish of Glasgow rather than African Americans were the target of his razor-wielding thugs.

This is the gang that is lauded in song every time the Ibrox klanbase gets all emotionally triumphant.

It is worth noting that the courts can only deal with hate crimes if cases are brought before them.

Consequently, a weakness in the system is extant if the police do not make arrests and present evidence to the prosecution authorities.

Especially if they were there at the time.

See the problem, dear reader?

Then there is this one too.

Here is a tip for any news journalist working the Glasgow beat:

How many OFF DUTY service police officers are KNOWN by their commanders to have taken part in those dignified festivities at George Square?

Real journalists dig for stories in the public interest and hold power to account.

The succulent ones on the Stenography Corps are not into that type of thing.

  1. Why don’t we hear anything from Ian Maxwell, the C.E.O of the S.F.A. Seems, like all of his predecessors, he doesn’t want to answer the tough questions.

  2. I was on the Hampden Precinct when they arrived under police escort. The police were within touching distance of them as they sang and chanted loud and proud. Why were they not arrested on the spot? There were certainly enough police surrounding them to enable arrests to be made. They are and always have been protected and give carte blanche in Glasgow. They are a despicable bunch.

  3. Phil I believe Catholics & Jews for that matter were on the KKK’s “hit list” along with African Americans of course. A KKK high heid yin called David Duke got Catholics taken off so that he could recruit them in Southern Louisiana among the white Cajun population which was and is heavily Catholic. It didn’t work…

  4. Yes racially abuse is disgusting and shouldn’t be tolerated. But charging a hate crime for spoken words and gestures is a dangerous slope to be on. No one was physically attacked. No one was calling for physical attacks. I am more worried and offended by the stripping away of free speech then any insults you may want to hurl my way. And to those that will argue that hateful speech shouldn’t be protected I ask would gets to say what is acceptable and what is not? This will be used to quash dissent in the near future under the guise of hateful and offensive speech.
