The failure of the Fitba Fourth Estate to call out the Ibrox klanbase means that the poor dears are often outraged when an outsider makes a remark about their feral behaviour.
University of York academic David Huyssen had the misfortune of being on a plane with some of the People.

The reactions to this tweet fell into two categories from those associated with the Rainjurzz.
Firstly, this senior lecturer at my Alma Mater had simply invented the entire thing.
Thus it was a vile calumny to traduce such dignified folk who lovingly remember in song a razor gang led by a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

An accusation of fabrication is bad enough for an ordinary person.
However, for someone who is a professional academic, this is particularly problematic to Mr Huyssen’s reputation.

The second set of responses was that it happened and that he should sit down and shut up about it.
Now, dear reader, you might spot something of an inconsistency in these two positions.
I’m sure that the historian also noted it.
This dignified chap managed to include the two mutually exclusive statements into one tweet.
Impressive.
Perhaps Mr Huyssen, the historian, will develop an academic interest in how the trailer trash of a dead empire can exist within a small country that claims to be ethically based and proudly multi-cultural.
I couldn’t help but think back forty years to how my own lecturers at York tried to process the existence of the Ibrox klanbase when I told them of their addiction to anti-Irish racism and their affection for a card carrying Fascist.
Mr Huyssen has done the state some service.
As ever, the Stenography Corps are posted missing anytime Planet Fitba’s cultural tumour is revealed to the outside world.

Slowly, but not gently, the rest of Europe are realising what we have to put up with regarding the white trash that call themselves the peepul. Their racism, bigotry and feral demeanour whether at home or abroad brings shame upon Scotland. It doesn’t appear to matter if they win or lose, they go all out to offend, fight and cause carnage.
Never mind bringing the game into disrepute, this club and it’s neanderthal, knuckledragging followers bring this city and country into disrepute! HH
Time will tell if they get to the final or not
But I had to laugh at their manager who was speaking on tv after the first leg whereby he mentioned that the ambience of their support will be a great help for the 2nd leg
By ambience does he mean 90 mins of sectarian and racist songs being belted out or bottles and coins thrown on the pitch at opponents.
It seems their manager like they all do get well prepped to ignore the elephant in the room
The continued bigotry ,racism and sectarianism spewed out week after week and totally ignored in media and politicians .
Mind you when you have people like Douglas Ross and Murdo Fraser
What chance do we have .
Today the story is all about McCoist saying John Kennedy is a “traitor” for supposedly helping Leipzig. First of all, you have to belong to a cause to be one. Any Celtic fan wishing them well in Europe is a “traitor” and I would go further and say the same of any non-Sevco Scottish fan who supported Scotland when Alex Mcleish was put in charge, simply in order to help pay his tax bill.
Should they win this “European cup”, stranger things have happened, the celebration will make last year’s George Square one seem like a dignified tea party.
Joseph McCormack….”An adverse result”..a winning result..it doesn’t matter ,their as bad when they have won. When it won the league last year..they ended up knocking fk out of each other in George’s Square etc . It’s their fallback mode, its not a day out without the mindless violence.
When you cant fight the one you hate, fight the one your with.
I am sure the flight was awful, many flights to Seville 2003 were full of drunken fans. Yes I was there we won an award for behaviour. BUT The real story is Celtic have not been to a Euro semi since 2004. The Old Rangers did it in 2008 and amazingly a mere ten years after liquidation the New Rangers have done it. I seem to recall them supposedly the being the “Espanyol” of Glasgow. Well we may have domestic domination but our European record is WOEFUL. Say what we like, write all the sour grapes articles we want – but this is an astounding achievement by them. We at Celtic need to seriously look at why its nearly 20 years – yes 20 years since we were even close. Lets stop worrying about flags at Hampden and referees – focus on why we are not performing at the higher level. Are the referees in the Europa League helping them ? Lets get real.
There’s a terrible smell of him in here
What the fk are you on about buddy?
Yes I was in Seville tin 2003 also. Was I drunk at anytime when I was there, yes, you better believe I was, was I singing and having a good time, yes I certainly was. Did I misbehave abuse anyone or be racist to the locals……….most certainly fking not!
Spot the difference and stop trying to be clever Mark B, it doesn’t work for you, it was a failed attempt.
By the way we are all well aware of our European record, it is nothing to shout about…….and so we don’t.
Well done you. I was not in Seville but I was, unwittingly, on a plane full of our fans to Frankfurt in 2017. I say unwittingly because I had not bargained on fans travelling to Borussia Mönchengladbach via Frankfurt. The behaviour on the plane was nothing short of animals and pretty much matches everything this other traveller experienced bar the target of the songs but with the added bonus of a fight on the bus to the terminal with German children terrified to tears.
Deny all you want and hide behind TGFITW all you want but we all know it happens.
If i was being selective I could say that Celtic have beaten Barcelona, AC Milan, Ajax and Man U in the Champions League since 2004.
Also, Celtic can actually afford the team they put out on the pitch. The same can’t be said at Ibrox where regular whip rounds are the only thing that prevent financial disaster.
If the Ibrox supporters chose to add offensive songs related to Trans rights to their dodgy repertoire,
would the Scottish ‘government’ simply push the Hampden blazers aside – and take some direct action – and very promptly?
Naw.
Pity those poor people of Seville if the klan descend on their beautiful city thinking that all Glaswegians are lovely people!
This is the fan base that wrecked Manchester, Newcastle and Barcelona.
Let’s hope that an adverse result in the final, if they get there, doesn’t trigger the same response from the usual suspects.
Ye forgot Birmingham
AND Wolverhampton.
Where the “Huns” nickname was coined.
A local newspaper reported that they, “descended on the town centre like hordes of marauding Huns!”
These peepul don’t come from Glasgow. Have a swatch at the banners on display in the Leipzig stadium.
Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, Fife et al. Nary a one from the dear green place and as a native Glaswegian, I am very happy to say it.
CELTIC is Glasgow’s club.
To say that there NONE of these people (or peepul) come from Glasgow is beyond absurd!
What exactly is your point here Tony? Don’t be so parochial. I’m from Billy McNeil’s home town, Bellshill in Lanarkshire. In fact half of the Lisbon Lions also came from these places, did it make them individually any less of a Celtic man?
Yes, Celtic is a Glasgow club, but it belongs to the Celtic family who come from all over Scotland, Ireland and indeed the World.
