Dave’s little legacy issue creates a problem for the Sevco High Command

It is annoying when you know that a well-placed source is holding something back from you.

Consequently, it is doubly irksome when ANOTHER source is doing likewise on the same story.

That’s been my lot over the past week or so.

Firstly the price-fixing investigation into Sevco and their commercial partners is significant and likely to be lengthy.

Moreover, do not Elite, Hummel or JD Sports to take one for Sevco.

I’m told that this probe was likely triggered by some third party making a formal complaint.

Dear reader, I cannot think of who would do such a thing…

So spare a thought for the heroic chaps in the Stenography Corps.

They are now in the difficult position of trying to serve two masters.

It is an open secret that the Sevco High Command are briefing against Mr David Cunningham King.

This is quite a change., after all the Johannesburg based convicted criminal was the main man in the Off Licence Putsch of 2015.

As I recall one well rounded young chap got all emotional about it at the time.

Bless…

It is worth remembering that the nit was the nature of that hostile takeover five years ago that turned Ashley from a  friend to a determined, vengeful enemy.

So what it is that my two sources are holding back from me?

Well, here is what I know so far.

The Sevco High Command became aware of something else apropos the Ashley shitshow 36 hours before the RIFC AGM.

All I know is that they were “stunned” at the discovery.

One source said, “King has left them something to deal with from the Ashley case .  It is a major setback”.

The only thing that I am sure about is that it is pertaining to Dave’s car boot sale and the ensuing litigation by Big Mike.

On that matter, I understand that General Ashley is still in court and waiting for a decision regarding damages.

Those who discount the potential of this story probably didn’t think that the term “Employee Benefit Trust”  being associated with Ibrox would amount to much either.

Finally a shout out to the hardworking folk at Spencer House in Dublin.

Despite a pandemic and lockdown restrictions they’ve continued to serve NUJ  members here in Ireland with their usual efficiency and good humour.

This arrived up the mountain in Dún na nGall today.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh.

  1. Thanks for the update Phil , keep digging as there are very few left that bother. The price fixing story and Robertson gently breaking the news they may have to sell a player or two are ,I doubt, unconnected.

  2. patience…….the wheels of justice turn slowly. none of it has gone away. 16 points clear provides a convenient smokescreen but little else. it won’t help pay the bills in the short or medium term.

  3. For the last 3 year all we keep hearing is litigation this, court case that, how much Ashley is getting a massive pay out once the court decides the figure, how Hummel ect have not finished with sevco regarding carbon sales and contract breeches, how Dave King has left sevco a financial basket case, yet fuck all seems tae have changed at sevco except their 16 points clear at the top, and have 1 hand on the league Trophy and stopping 10, it’s all getting very repetitive Phil and a tad boring,
