The Morelos Memorandum

Firstly, the title refers to something that doesn’t actually exist.

Then again neither does the interest in Sevco’s main player.

Both are a fabrication.

However, the title of this offering suggests that everyone in the Stenography Corps has got the memo on Alfredo and that might not be too far from the truth.

The visible signs of Operation Sell Alfredo are now reaching hysterical levels.

The only thing that is rooted in reality in that headline is that £30m is the sort of sum that Sevco could be doing with at the moment.

Football transfer fees are usually paid three tranches.

The first portion is normally 40% of the total.

Therefore, £30m would see £12m going straight into the bank account of the selling club.

The remaining 60% is paid in two equal tranches on the first day of each subsequent transfer window.

Across the city of Celtic were in that situation then that tranche of £12m would not be immediately going out of the door in non-footballing costs.

The Parkhead side does not have a Cold-Shouldered chairman to pay off.

Nor do they have to prepare themselves for a litigation bill with their erstwhile retail partner.

See the problem?

Oh, and Celtic did not report in their last accounts that there is a hole in their accounts of at least £10m

When you consider all of this you start to understand why in this window Sevco must bring in serious money.

There is no doubt that Alfredo is the most valuable asset in the basket.

However, his disciplinary record has been noted by the scouts that have been sent to assess him for several English clubs.

As well as being a world-class footballer in his time Mr Gerrard is also media savvy.

Consequently, he got it out there that he doesn’t expect that his squad will be strengthened during this window.

Of course, he will not want to lose his main goal scorer for the business end of the title campaign.

However, the chaps in the Blue Room are desperate to see the Colombian leave Sevco for a substantial fee.

Fortunately for Mr Gerrard and the Ibrox klanbase there have been NO discernible offers for Alfredo.

Perhaps the rest of the football world didn’t get the memo…

  1. Morelos is surely worth more to Sevco when he’s on their books than if they sell him. If they sell him, they get a wodge of cash which wil go some way towards their debts. But if they keep him, they can use his purported value to leverage emotional investments from one or more directors/benefactors on the promise of repayment if/when Morelos is sold. If the media keeps upping the purported value (remember when it was only 11m?) then the quantum of debt that it can support will also increase. And so long as they are discreet in their promises, Sevco could probably touch up more than one creditor using the same Morelos money as the prize. So long as they never actually try to sell him – which would expose his true value – or go near a bank or a financial institution who might want the promises in writing…

  2. Sevco Pr will only release into the media anything that relates to their Morelos 30m agenda. There has surely been bids for the maniac and they have been in the 5m bracket. Would these bids see the light of day in our media. No. So the fantasy remains

    • They are so desperate they are holding fixed games with diddy clubs behind closed doors so that red carded Maniac Morelos can get goal scoring headlines.

Clearly the club is dying for funds and not for sale Morelos is desperately for sale. Therefore Slippy lies.

          • I would not be surprised either mate. No matter what we say about them they are throwing everything at it this season while we stand with our hands in our pockets

  3. No surprise to see the ref at Firhill doing his best to hinder Celtic.
The clear push on Frimpong getting a no penalty award from the man in black was bad enough but the award to Thistle for their last minute penalty was diabolical.
He clearly won the ball yet the ref, miles behind the play, gave a pen.
I’m pretty sure that if it hadn’t been the last kick of the ball Frimpong would have been red carded.

  4. How many of you would like to find that Klimala could score as many goals as Morelos and would he have been a steal at the price paid for him?

    Reply
    • If Klimala matches Morelos goals, then Morelos would be worth far less due to his disciplinary problems and character faults.

      Clearly!

    • I think Klimala will prove a good signing long term. The problem is we need players to go into the team yesterday and not sure he is quite ready atm

  5. Sevco Rangers are going bankrupt due to King’s Chairmanship. His policies on spend and wages, his policies on contracts, his policies on hire and fire of staff, his policies on shares, his policies on listings, his cold shoulder…Having brought them to this pivotal point, he’s walking away and NOT covering HIS losses.

Morelos won’t be sold. Nobody wants to buy him. There’s no interest. They are also looking for far too much.

  6. I hope he stays and the huns end up in the grubber as a result of the no sale. Besides that he is entertainment value and his cut throat gesture did not bother me one little bit, I think we all tend to be a bit over sensitive, especially after a defeat.

      • That the crap manager who has us 10 points better off at the break than we were last year?

2018-19, end of December, 42 points from 20 games.

2019-20, end of December, 52 points from 20 games.

One win and one league defeat to sevco. Same as last season.

It’s NOT Lenny’s fault that they have improved. The same points total under BR last season would have had us running away with the league.

The same crap manager who’s taken us top of a Euro tournament group for the first time ever. With a club record points tally. With the first ever home AND away victories against an Italian side. The ONLY side to have beaten Juventus this season and done it twice!

        That crap manager?

The crap manager who actually loves the club. Who IS a real fan. Unlike BR, who couldn’t get out of the door fast enough when he realised last December that sevco WERE getting their act together.

It amazing to hear so many fans are so complacent I’m glad the board haven’t been this window. However, the league is so nip and tuck glad we are in the slip stream. In reality Rangers should have all the pressure but our fans are piling it on the players and management big time… why?
2angers have again staked their very existence on stopping 9 in a row and they have a good chance of doing it. However, if they win the league and don’t make the champions league then they’ll die.
Celtic are keeping to our principles and not doing bad deals investing for the future and not putting the club at risk, if you think the club hasn’t backed Lennon you’re blinkered.
This doesn’t mean we’ll win the league but that’s football… however I think we could make a European final and if it’s was good enough for MON it’s goid enough for NFL and me.

  9. I know things are slow over at sevco at the moment not much being made of fatman morelos moving on . But there are still a couple of weeks left of the transfer window and even if screwball morelos does not get sold a still think the new club will go for broke and bring in another 2 players they can’t afford in the mould of Defoe just to stop 9 in a row and face the consequences after it . The CHISLER has form for this kind of thing and the Klan love him for it that’s why they want to build statues of him . Watch for those rabbits coming out of the hat . As I said it’s very quiet over there .

    • Clubs are pretty-much Limited Companies, so they will find themselves in deep doo-doo in they enter into any negotiations with King. Can you imagine the chaos that would cause if, as an example, Manchester United entered into any business dealings with sevco – transfer of Morelos included? The market value of Man United would make the Wall Street Crash of 1929 seem like the equivalent of losing a quid down the back of your settee!!

      • I thought King would have been better leaving before the window opened. To enable trade.

Then I thought the leaving could all be lies.

To try and enable trade, but he has no intention of leaving and he is duping other clubs into buying SEVCO players (thinking they are not dealing with King as he is leaving).

Will he leave or is it a con for this window?

        • The rumour was he was getting papped out of the crumbledome before big Mike court case against him and the new club. . But now that is back on hold the BENNY’S CHISLING CHAIRMAN wont be going anywhere anytime soon . It’s all a game of bluff . The klan think there is a chance of the league title this season King ain’t going to nowhere he wants to be part of the glory . Remember he has statues waiting to be built in and around the stadium.

          • Scud old son. I think you’re bang on! The Lying King will go nowhere as long as there is still a chance of them winning the title. Should such a disaster occur, he will want to be on the pitch at the end lapping up the adulation of the orcs. If they go tits up after that he won’t give a rats rectum. He’ll be gone. His place in the history of eight year old sevco and in the mythology of the dead Rangers secure.

In fact if they stumble on for a couple of months after he leaves and THEN go bust, he’ll turn round and say, “Look what happened after I left! They couldn’t run the club without me!”

Whichever way the league goes he’ll be out at the end of the season. If they lose the title this season but somehow survive as a club, they will be so financially weakened it’ll take another eight years to get them close to where they are now. If they win the title, he departs a hero.

  10. The SMSM is reporting that Gerrard already has his hands on some silverware this season.

…pity it’s only the Loving Cup.

[And whoever at Ibrox named it the Loving Cup certainly had a sense of humour. 🙂 ]

  11. Personally Hope he goes on the last minute of the window shutting and they have no option to replace. Morelos is a very good player and will score. I don’t care what they get for him cos it will only go to serve their debt. Defor gets injured after that they will be dropping points all over the place.

  13. The main reason he won’t go is that real referees will be booking him at least once per game. Simple fact is he’s a poisoned chalice that no decent team will drink from

I’ve seen comparison to Suarez on here and his I’ll discipline. That’s the reason I’ve not posted in ages, I’m still pmsl.

  14. He’s worth £3m, less if you take character and discipline into value.

    This means two things:
    1. If they want £5m+ then he won’t be sold. No buyer.
    2. If he’s not sold then there’s no money to cover costs to end of season.

Stumping up to Sports Direct will follow shortly too.

There’s a perception management exercise going on to dupe that they have valuable assets (players) but they’re vastly over valued. This is to hoodwink the SFA that they can cover costs and debts to end of season, dupe investors, dupe the gullible and dupe Celtic fans that they can survive to end season and win the title.

They’re going bust selling Morelos or not. King’s weeping tears proved that.

Has anyone challenged the SFA that TRFC are trading whilst insolvent and do not have funding to end of season? Will the SFA act on this breach of rules?

  15. In a parallel universe, further away from Scotland than BFDJ,s expanding waistline, there was no need for Celtic fans to wish for the timely sale of Morelos, as the governing SFA were applying the rules of the game, thus dishing out appropriate bans to the recidivist. Meanwhile in the other Scotland…

  16. When Morelos isn’t sold Ross Wilson will be sacked by King the day the window closes. No need to pay him Through until summer.

Regardless, they won’t win anything with Morelos as failure to sell him means they go bust.

    Morelos goes, Celtic win.
    Morelos stays, Celtic win.

Ross will feel the leather from a brown brogue on his arse as he exits Ibrox side door on 1st Feb.

Celtic to run away with it this evening with massive score.

    Reply
    • Nope. They’ll not be going bust at all. They’ll steal the league from under our noses the way the old Rangers did in 2011 while Celtic sat around on their complacent arses. Once 9IAR is gone……it’s all gone…..it’s the only thing that matters, everything else is just a facade.

      • Why won’t they go bust? They’ve no money, need £10m to end of season, have loans and debts and have £6-10m due to SD. What special knowledge do you have?

        Reply
        • If they were going bust it would have happened a while ago when they were weaker. They have gathered strength despite their lack of finances and they will be going nowhere.

History has shown that you can’t get rid of evil organisations all that easily.

Someone is supplying the cash and will continue to do so.

The forecasts of their demise have been daily for the past eight years.

We’ re forever hearing about the cold shoulder and as far as I am aware they are dealing with Barclay’s Bank.. Some cold shoulder, more like cold fish.

          • Yet the old Rangers won the title 3years on the trot 2009-2011 even though they were on the brink of collapse…..says a lot about Celtic and they’re resolve to win.

          • The can has been kicked down the road long enough to allow them to win they title- and win it they may- anything after that- including admin/ liquidation- means nothing, as long as they have stopped the 10.

    • 2-1 is not a massive score.
