A familiar type of exclusive

It is a feeling that I have become accustomed to over the years dear reader.

In the first instance, my attention is drawn towards a world exclusive in the SMSM apropos the Ibrox shitshow.

I peruse the piece and then I realise that the content is rather familiar.

I’m sure that many of my readers have experienced the same sense of déjà vu.

Yesterday this piece appeared in the Sun.

You may now wish to read my piece of January 7th

I was moved to mention this remarkable coincidence in a Tweet.

My reaction on Twitter elicited several acerbic observations.

This one was the best…

The reason for my piece on the 7th of this month was not to assist the Stenography Corps at the Sun.

Rat5her it was to put into the public realm the importance of early 2011 timeline apropos Resolution 12.

This was the period of time when the folks running Rangers KNEW that they had overdue payables to a taxing authority (to use the parlance of UEFA).

Consequently, they should not have been granted a European Licence for season 2011-2-12.

Had there been proper oversight on this matter then it would have been very bad news for Rangers’ “Old Form” partner.

At the time they were both planning a Megan and Harry escape south of the border.

The last thing that dashing young Prince on the Heated Driveway wanted as he waited was for the blushing former catalogue model to keel over on the way to the EPL alter.

Without UEFA revenues Rangers were going bust.

This was proven to be the fact by the brilliant performance against Malmo and Maribor.

In the death of Rangers, it is forensic fact that Super Salary played his part.

With no European income, the Suave Billionaire knew that the game as up.

Anyone in the green corner of Glasgow who does not think that senior people at Celtic are not compromised by their involvement at that time is being wilfully blind top the established facts.

  1. Here’s the thing sevco need to both buy a Morelos and sell a Morelos we on the other hand don’t we do however need to buy an up and running defender major cover for both Calum and Scott and an attacker who will hit the ground running hopefully we will have achieved some but preferably all of that by midnight on the 31st of January.

  2. Listening to all the comments re boycotts, voting with our feet etc makes me think that maybe The Lying King knew exactly what he was meaning when he said Celtic would collapse like a pack of cards if Sevco won the league !
He knows his lot can’t win the league without us throwing it away!!
The in fighting has started already , are we doing his work for him?
PL needs to realise that the best way to keep Celtic Park full, and feed his shareholders is to keep our foot on their throats and watch them die, ever so slowly, only releasing the pressure slightly now and again to increase their hope, and our pleasure.

  3. I’m not enamoured by the emails or comms between us and the old Rankers, I can see the business model though. Remember in 2010 (or thereabouts) we had a global financial crash, new Tory government with a comprehensive spending review in ’10 banks going to the wall and everyone was feeling the pinch. Football was dying on its feet, we were basically propping up Scottish football as the whole brand was dire, we are a club with a proud European tradition who were being squeezed out by 4th placed EPL and other so called big leagues.

Brands like Brighton, WBA, Huddersfield, Watford to name a few were drawing in TV revenue and even the parachute payments dwarfed our yearly income.

It was a brand and a model that was being mooted.

You go in good faith and you make alliances to sell a brand that’s attractive that’s what business men do, how many clubs have gone to the wall due to bad financial management down south? (Up here too)

I know we will get the usual historical post mortem, so, we knew let’s say.

PL knew, DD and others knew.

What would you have happen next?

The way some are crying out “Oh for the days of big Jock” and “Bring back the bunnet” it’s not gonna happen.

We are not in the same state of affairs as the Kelly regime, there will never be a hearse parked on Kerrydale st, there will never be obituaries in the SM, there will most likely never be half stadia closures on Euro nights or crumbling stands.

Hindsight lads, hindsight and leagues were never won in January.

Remember a few posters here slating Slippy about his 80 minutes game time gaff. January.

I reserve the right to look back on this post in May and if I’m wrong then I also reserve the right to slap myself.

  4. Rangers and now Sevco and Celtic have always been in cahoots. Stated this many times as they both feed of the bigotry. Celtic fans hate to hear it but it’s true. Only the bigotry and hatred keeps the money rolling in.Celtic were the only club who’s gate receipts dropped when Ranger went bust. This simple fact outlines what I have said on here many times.

    • I’m not a bigot, far from it, the reason our revenue dropped was because PL etc decided to bring in RD. His team selection was woeful, any other manager with the experience would’ve delivered two more trebles in that horrible two years. If you look at BR when he came in there was one marquee signing “Sinky” to a squad already embedded at paradise.

So, sir, don’t tar me with a blue brush, don’t call me bigot nor my friends.

Oh and for the record, I didn’t stop going, ST sales rose, waiting list rose but the football fare was pish.

  5. So before the transfer window opened all we heard from so called pundits and headlines in the papers was all these teams interested in Morelos Kamara Tav and so on . Teams from Germany Italy France Spain even the EPL oh and dont forget China. But now the transfer window is here and open guess what not one bid in for any of their players . Infact it’s the dross that’s being moved on or out on loan oh dear . When the window does close and none of the above have been punted on the cheap watch as the FAKE news stories appear again that they held on to their players and more squirrel stories to sooth the Klan about they kept them here to challenge for the title . But all along nobody was interested in any of their players and especially at those over inflated prices .

  6. I would go as far as to say…this is a hugely defining period coming up for our Club…and it all may end very badly.
Our on the field performances have been mediocre to poor….and if we drop points over the coming weeks and Sevco don’t…then the Board and Management team will hear the support loud and clear…and it won’t be pleasant.
Add to that the growing revelations of potential skulduggery between us and them…and you have a toxic mix.
As things stand at the moment…the Club is getting away with it…but should results not go our way…and any more revelations are forthcoming….there will be Hell to pay.
I just hope that PL and Co…don’t think this will go away.
    It won’t.
And yes…a Boycott will be on the cards.

    • Boycotts will be pointless if NIAR ( ergo 10) is already lost…

Yes.. it may sanitise the boardroom but we will have given them a lifeline with a champions league lucky dip and all the encouragement needed to spout their ‘55’ titles nonsense. Add to that their plans for 150 years of history and the result will be unbearable.

It will be all the more galling in that Celtic allowed it to happen … even facilitated it.

I’ve never felt so ashamed of the goings on at Celtic Plc…

  7. Although I’m not exactly enamoured with either Lawwell or Desmond, I am more concerned with the bigger picture.

Ultimately, these two guys are ‘just passing through’. Maybe they are just being opportunistic? They are businessmen, doing what they do.

However, the club was there long before these two existed, and it should still be around long after these two have met their maker.

But, it has taken 132 long years to build the club’s reputation – or brand if you like – yet it could take a fraction of that time to trash that reputation – and to betray the values upon which the supporters believe that the club is built on – and stands for.

The club should never be put in such a risky position by one or two individuals.

…and these recent revelations about collusion to support Rangers are very unsettling…

  8. Plagiarism and Machivellian skullduggery abounds in the UFC(Unfair Footballing in Caledonia) it’s happened all of my life;and,IF there’s an afterlife;it’ll most probably happen all through that too.

IF Celtic fans knew what goes on,and has gone on since the inception of the O.F.(il)behind closed doors, well,it is my assertion that more than half of us,myself included, would walk away, never to return, that’s where my head is atm.

There’s a theme/threat of collusion running through all of this and it is visible from any high vantage point on this flat 🌍😉.IF this comes to light and it’s details fully exposed for all to see, well,Glasgow will need a brand new team because ‘that lot’ will also walk away from their team too. This will haunt the coconspirators for the rest of their lives, and for me,quite rightly,it should,

Sleeping with the enemy surely cannot ever be a good thing.

There has to be a reason that our board seem impotent with both the sfa and sevco.
The longer they leave it all up in the air,the more far fetched the stories will be as our fan’s imaginations/nightmares run wild with possibilities…

IMHO PL has this transfer window to stop a coup d’état,if 9iar isn’t attained, his days will be numbered, may well be numbered atm.

    Thanks Phil🍀

  9. Oh dear that’s a good bit of movement of players out the door and halfway off the wage bill . But this is basically their nickel & dime players but hey if someone else picks up half their wage it’s a pretty penny saved in their world . That’s at least half a dozen gone in the last few days the stocktaking is well and truly underway . But they need the mad Columbian gone and off the wage bill and a massive amount of cash for him to try and balance those books . But the PANIC button has well and truly been pressed in the last 48 hours no turning back now but we wont here from the Scottish mug press journalists about this cost cutting exercise . No doubt those pretending to be journalists will praise it as being prudent .

  10. Lawwel is working to instructions and is paid handsomely for it. Desmond is to blame for this disgrace , did he not say that ” Rangers ” was a wonderful institution. He new that the blue pound would continue to make him lots of money , so the continuation of accepting the lie was for a must.

    • It’s a photo finish between LIEWELL and his
partner in crime the CHISLER from sevco to see who can rip the fans off for the most and take them for mugs . If we as Celtic fans allow the people from our side to get away with it then we are just as gullible as the Klan fans . And we all know how thick they are .

  11. I’m going to throw the cat among the pigeons. 2008/09. Going for 4 in a row. Wee Strach never got a striker in January window. 6 points clear in Dec, throw that away before old firm game beat them 2-0. End of January 6 points clear again. Only need to win 1 game out of last 3 never happened. Rangers win the league and automatically get into Champions league groups. I’ve never managed to get out of my head Celtic threw it to try and save them

  12. Superb stuff Phil but I now see that wee Quark from Deep Space 9 aka Alex Rae is on a sponsored silence in regards to him mouthing off before Christmas about massive investments coming into sevco in January oh dear . Also Mark Guiddi another nickel & dime journalist was shouting from the rooftops just the other day the same as wee Quark about massive investments lol . This guy already has form for this FAKE news story before he peddled it out there a year after King took over and it still did not happen.

  13. Said it for a long time now, sevcos greatest asset it he of the heated driveway. where we could be by now, if we had someone with vision and ambition running the club, instead, all he seems to do is work to encourage Sevco.
Any half decent leader would not be acceping the disgraceful double standards from SFA/SPFL, both bias for Sevco and against us – could it be made any more blatant and obvious than the Christie/Morelos incident – dec 18 v dec 19.

And dont even get me started on his inability to close a deal…..

The man needs to go its just as straightforward as that, but its only a fan boycott that will bring that about, and that will only happen after a huge failing of the team – when he will of course try and throw whoever he can under the bus to save his job as the highest paid ceo in uk football, which incidentally, if we take and make allowances for income and revenue, he is paid what, 50x his nearest rival in the epl – and he couldnt even close a swing door, never mind a deal….

  14. Phil; I’m still confused though. This news coming to light can’t be the only thing to explain the silence and collusion of the Celtic Board over these past 8-9 years. I mean it’s embarrassing for sure, but it isn’t something that could be the source of the blackmail type materiel that SFA and *Rangers may have held over their head.

More scary to me is what else may have taken place over this period that has been used to keep the Board quiet?

    • Hence that is what as known as that little black book aka The 5 Way Agreement that holds everybody’s secrets including our own club.
