I note that the Mystery Freelancer has once again left the Fitba Fourth Estate with some retracting to do.
The Daily Radar had breathlessly reported that the Sevco had been cited for the behaviour of their fans in Denmark in the match against FC Midtjylland on August 9th.
There was only one problem with the off the radar exclusive.
It was pish.
On the other hand, there is no need for such action here.
Your humble correspondent informed you yesterday that Sevco were in the clear apropos their match in Denmark.
I rather sneakily checked with the folk at UEFA Media and shared with you what they sent me.
That might seem like some kind of sorcery to the Stenography Corps, but it is what journalists are meant to do.
Of course, sometimes official sources are not available to you when working a story.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Ibrox press officer has never replied to any of my emails.
Rather than let that be the end of the matter I submit my questions to them and then publish them here.
Therefore, my readers know what is being asked of them.
My enquiries are usually forensically precise and it is almost as if I already know the answer…
Almost as if very well placed sources who want to remain anonymous have given me a serious steer in the direction of the truth.
Almost…
However, I am aware that the Fitba Fourth Estate operates to different rules when it comes to matters Ibrox.
The Daily Radar’s gaff was noteworthy in that it was an inaccurate bad news story about the basket of assets.
A cynic might conclude that is why they quickly published a correction.

I, of course, couldn’t possibly comment.

Bandito, are you suggesting for a minute that those fine fellows from down Ibrox way, cheated EUFA? I sincerely hope not for you sake as litigious Mr King would undoubtedly be on your case toot-sweet. Given his record in court cases however, I reckon you’d be a to a winner. Mon The Hoops. Get right intae these inbred yokels the morra. HH
Have I missed something? DR saying third Rangers but it’s only the second Rangers, isn’t it?
They also failed to display a banner as was ordered by UEFA
Sorry going off subject, watching the Europa League draw today, when Sevco were drawn out of the pot the wee man stated that Rangers were in the final in 2008… Does that mean UEFA have akowleged them as the same club? effen hope not we’ll never hear the end of it. HH
I counted the seats closed in the picture available and given that I have Dyscalculia I can be forgiven for not being able to do my sums properly I got to 891 which was 33 rows times 27 columns
I wonder if anyone really counted how many were closed and what the punishment would be for not abiding by the ruling
I agree, certainly not a ‘minimum of 3,000 seats’ in that section….perhaps some with gravitas should ask UEFA exactly what their numbers were and in which sections? I doubt they would be impressed if the rangers tried to pull a fast one…now that would be jelly and ice cream time👏👏
I see Ibrox Noise has got to the bottom of Scotland’s sectarianism problem.
It’s those pesky Catholic schools again.
Close them down, end of problem according to IN.
The revenue from Europa group participation will be most welcome to those signing the cheques at Ibrox.
However that might cover running costs till May but where will the cash come from to pay off the Close Bros loan and the incoming bill from Sports Direct, without selling Morelos and/or Tavernier in the next 48 hours?
“A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its brogues”
Churchill……….probably
What exactly are the job expectations of an editor? Are they not meant to ask … “is this true?” There are many unemployed more worthy of the salary and kickbacks (sorry free press seats). They write nothing of value partly because they never have … but now through actions of they can’t hide their bias. We need the mainstream media to do their job properly and without fear. They have no credibility left. But that is not important – As Camus pointedout – “This is the truth,” we say. “You can discuss it as much as you want; we aren’t interested. But in a few years there’ll be the police who will show you we are right.”
A heroically anonymous blogger has now removed his ‘scoop’ regarding the Danish complaint, and the comments questioning his veracity. I’d imagine he’ll be bealin’ tonight, and whinging about how no-one loves him tomorrow. I’m sure it was only last week when he was describing himself as a journalist too.
I noticed that as well, it’s funny how his “exclusives” vanish when they prove to be garbage.
Any update on his Glazer exclusive.
I saw that too. He’s good for a laugh that’s for sure.
Is that the same pesky journo who Chris Graham had a problem with at the evening times.
Even if a freelancer writes an article, surely they must be named as the writer
Think you meant Chris Jack BigBaws, not Chris Graham.
The third charge though….
It’s just a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if’…
In regard to their 3000 seat closure. Anyone seen the photos ? Looks like around 1000 seats at most to my eyes!
Was it really ‘equal game’ ?
As for Sunday – I think we can be fairly certain that everyone will be singing from the same song sheet at ibrokes on Sunday… with ‘Added Staunch Vigour’ I greatly suspect.
Looks about 1200 seats tops Pat! They’re very naughty boys those sevconians.
