Spare a thought for Sevco’s Director of Fantasy.
He is doing his best with meagre resources.
So far he has been able to bring in seven players at a total cost of around £900k
Now, most football transfers are paid in three tranches with (40%/30%/30%).
Therefore, so far Sevco has had to shell out approximately £360k during this window.
Big money!
Which is something that Hummel is not seeing much of from Ibrox at the moment.
I’m told that the senior folk in Aarhus are seriously displeased with the ongoing legal dispute between Sevco and Sports Direct.
I hope it doesn’t lad to the Danish sportswear firm withhold payments to the seven-year-old club.
That would be highly unfortunate.
At a conclave of the Sevco High Command last Thursday one of the directors brought up the subject of the situation with Ashley.
Sadly, I’m told that the disembodied voice from south of the Limpopo shut the discussion down before it could get started!
Essentially, the pretence of being a big club is putting a huge strain on Sevco’s operating costs.
There are seven new mouths to feed at the Hummel centre of mediocrity.
After all World Class Breakfast doesn’t come cheap…
Across the city, I understand that there is some substance to the rumour apropos Adidas replacing New Balance.
If the negotiations are concluded satisfactorily then it will be a record-breaking kit deal in Scottish football.
Of course, this day and night narrative between Celtic and Sevco will never be read on the back pages.
Celtic certainly do mean business in this transfer window and the spending will not stop now.
Don’t’ be surprised if Celtic express an interest in Jack Stacey at Luton Town in the coming days.
I’m told by an experienced agent that the defender could be another shrewd acquisition for Neil Lennon.
However, a slight note of caution to those of the Hooped persuasion.
There is an undeniable feel-good factor after two signings in as many days.
However, they should be prepared for players to leave as well.
It is worth remembering that there is a chap at the King Power Stadium who has a granular understanding of the contract landscape at Celtic.
Moreover, he has, by Scottish standards a massive transfer budget.
Meanwhile, at Ibrox, the Sevco High Command now requires the services of their intergalactic PR guru.
Apparently, his mission is to tell the world that there is huge interest in a number of Stevie’s galacticos.
It is almost as if they are in a desperate financial situation and need to offload some players.
Fortunately, he can call on his devoted functionaries in the Stenography Corps to break these world exclusives.

Of course, these award-winning scoops will be swallowed whole by the Ibrox klanbase.
That’s how it works…

Scott McDemott’s so called article in the Daily Ranger is beyond embarrassing as he ‘Bigs Up’ their training complex……………………and their ambition, he’s clearly NOT been keeping up to date with their lack of success or recent signings. Totally embarrassing, Journalism at its most blue nose grovelling
The transfer market in England is crazy. How can a full back making his EPL breakthrough at Crystal Palace be sold for £50m.?
I like John McGinn but again Hibs to Villa last season for a couple of million and now a mooted move to Man Unt for £50m.
It’s incredible and Arsenal’s £15 m bid for KT looks positively insulting.
Even the reported £25m that Celtic want doesn’t look enough when compared to the fees demanded by Palace and Villa.
I see the Colombian buffoon has taken to kicking out at a team mate in a training bounce game.
He’s obviously unmanageable and thats the reason why not one of his alleged admirers has stepped up to the plate with any sort of offer.
You don’t have to be a financial genius to work out that Stevie G will have to trim his squad to accomodate the new faces and unless Europa Cup group stage is reached then alarm bells will be ringing.
With Close Bros tapped out and the soft loans debt for equity swop leaving Kingco a lot poorer for their troubles plus Sports Direct still on the sidelines where will the next tranche of funding come from?
Another share issue further diluting the share price in a company which has never reported a profit in it’s short existence?
Will be interesting to how the annual audited accounts stand up compared to the fag packet rosy unaudited numbers released some months ago.
Haven’t read about Mororless kicking out. Where did you see it Joseph?
Phil – are you implying that, in the coming days, Levels will announce that a combined bid of £100 squillion-dillion have been made for El Gruffalo and Mr Tav-Pen. Whoever makes that offer are grabbing themselves a bargain!! 😂😂😂
Oh, ma sides!!
That’s how it’s works every pre season……wash rinse and repeat!!
If I was Gerrard, I’d grab the first opportunity to manage down south.
Any team.
He – or his advisors – must know he is going to be seriously exposed this season.
Or, he might surprise everyone by managing this ragtag squad of Bosmans, loanees and journeyman into serious, silverware-winning champions…
Mibbees.
