I’m afraid that the recent reportage of the ongoing situation between General Ashley and the basket of assets rather missed the point.
As regular readers here will be well aware, Big Mike has already won.
Only the damages for the Sevco car boot sale have to be decided upon.
The recent court case was merely procedural and the main event will be next month.
I think it is fair to say that the Sevco High Command are bracing for impact.
As I have already reported, the Blue Room Brigade recently reached out to General Ashley
My information is that Sports Direct is looking for a substantial seven-figure sum.
Let’s just say I would not be surprised if it was up there in Brendan Rodgers to Leicester territory.
Of course, that does not mean that the Sevco High Command is then unconnected to Mr Ashley’s business empire.
The contract remains in force, this court case is about it being broken by the chaps in the Blue Room.
If they wish to buy out Big Mike then the figure will be a substantial EIGHT figure sum.
You may recall dear reader that this new retail deal was trumpeted as a great victory for Mr King over Sports Direct back in the summer of 2017.
As ever, your humble correspondent demurred.

Of course, it was all pish.
There was no mention in the triumphant presser that Big Mike had received £3m as well as having his RIFC shares purchased at 27.5p at a time when the Takeover panel was valuing them at 20p.
Since the Off Licence Putsch of 2015, the usual suspects have been adhering to a high-Level narrative about Sevco’s dispute with Sports Direct.
Sometimes it has spilt over rather hilariously into Twitter.

For the avoidance of doubt, the award-winning chaps on the sports desks have applied the same journalistic scrutiny to the Sevco v Sports Direct story as they did to Craig Whyte the billionaire…

When Leicester paid 9m for Brendan Rodgers they got his backroom staff included in the deal. If Sevco pay a similar amount to Mike Ashley, would he throw in some extras to sweeten the deal – perhaps a few Timmy Bears or something?
Would that be an 8 in a row type of figure? HH
Thanks Phil, after enjoying aw that schadenfreude,I’m so full up,I’ll never eat my dinner.
Appreciate your time away from the mines.HH🍀
Eight figures you say…….Like a million ,then!
I’ll cross them over and you head them in…
