I’m told that there was a dignified conclave of the Sevco High Command recently.
The Serious Professional and the Conveyancing Consigliere met with a chap from Campbell Dallas to discuss the annual accounts of Rangers International Football Club (RIFC).
I understand that Mr David Cunningham was dialled into this Churchillian sit-down.
Let’s just say that there is a serious hole in the RIFC accounts.
I’m not surprised that the Serious Professional decided to have the rest of the day off after the meeting.
A cynic might conclude that the recent reports on James Tavernier being not for sale is merely the ground is being prepared in time for the January window.
Could this solve the potential problem of the next tranche of the transfer fee for Jamie Murphy?
Of course, it wouldn’t be Sevco if there wasn’t another court appearance looming.
General Ashley has had his legal team working hard to prepare for battle.
Keep an eye out for a fresh round of hostilities in court about the new retail scheme set up by Mr King.
It might be then that the South African based convicted criminal will finally realise that calling into question the competence of the judiciary in Scotland was not the smartest move.
For the avoidance of doubt, it has not gone down well in the Scottish legal village, and neither has it been warmly appreciated in the Square Mile.
Several senior people in the Sevco High Command who are not fully in the loop are hoping that Mr King has a cunning plan to deal with all of this.
Of course, the appalling vista is that Dave might not really care if it all collapses around the basket of assets.

Is it a crime, a sin or both that I’m looking forward to the next round of Ashley v King? Big Mike in the red corner and hopefully a glib and shameless liar in the black and blue corner. HH
The Hummel merchandise is flying off the JD Sports shelves.
It’s beyond belief that these organisations have transgressed the minutiae of a contract or legal order eminating from Sports Direct.
Then again King is known to plough his own path much to the delight, and wealth, of the Scottish legal profession.
On the Murraprocesssemi final issue has any of our dishonourable media asked the SRU if they were involved in the decision making process?
Did they hold the SPFL’s feet to the fire and ask for guarantees that the stadium would be returned to them in the same condition as it was handed over?
Oh dear… oh dearie, dearie dear!! Sevco in financial turmoil?.. who’d have believed that, eh? Let’s hope that, next time, the undertakers are a little less careless and remember to fasten their coffin lid securely.
Nail on head Phil. There is no doubt that Tavernier or Morelos, or both, will have to go in January to plug the cash flow hole and reassure Dallas Campbell before they can sign off on the annual accounts.
Meanwhile business as usual at Hampden. Killie winger cited for throwing himself to the ground at the weekend, winning a pen and ensuring 3 points for his team whilst pushing McCann closer to the exit door.
No surprise that one of Fleming’s fast tracked pupils was the man in black.
The ref was 10 yards from the incident and saw something that no one else in the ground did.
In fairness to the Killie winger he didn’t claim for a penalty but dug himself into the ground awaiting a yellow card for diving from the ref.
Not the first time that McLean’s eyesight has failed him yet he’s still amongst the grade one refs.
When will he be cited or will he be pulled from the front line for a few weeks before being given a cup final?
It’s a surprise that Specsavers haven’t pulled their sponsorship from the officials as the decisions we see week in week out defy belief and the irony of being the sponsor is no longer a laughing matter.
Aye, can just imagine the scene come January…
Stevie G : “Ahright boss – so eh, wher’s the tree million yez said like for the transfehhh window n’dat, eh?”
Davie K : [ hands him ready-rolled credit slip, crudely crayoned ‘I O U £2 mullion’ ]
Stevie G : [ tearfully ] “WE DO NOT GET THIS SLIP”
Are you suggesting that King could care less if they were to go into Insolvency? Is that a way for him to get out of the retail deal with Sports Direct and Ashley?
