Paperback writer

Today I received a rather uplifting message from Mr Publisher.

Apparently, the first print run of The Squad wasn’t quite enough.

He told me that you lot have been pre-ordering in significant numbers.

Many thanks!

Consequently, he has had to dial up the presses for some more copies.

Well, actually a lot more copies.

He told me that he was delighted that his projections were so off.

Now, this is is a guy who has been in the bookselling trade for close to 30 years and he is usually on the button with his sales projections

So I will take that as a compliment.

The first batch of pre-orders the signed copies will be in the post by the middle of next week.

Therefore, customers in Scotland will probably receive theirs copy by Friday 22nd.

Buyers in Ireland will receive the book in the post by the following week.

You can order directly from the publisher here.

Colour me chuffed…

  1. Arrived back from the east coast family visit to find The Squad behind the door.
Now sipping Black Tartan and nibbling into Chaper 1.
Many thanks for the “Best Wishes”.

  3. Phil,

I have been trying to purchase your book for the past 2 weeks via your publisher and for some reason when clicking on the payment link it keeps kicking me out saying I’ve been too inactive on PayPal, scratching my head on this ? any ideas?

    • The publisher website is working.
I bought a book myself using PayPal to check the link and it went through mine.
Perhaps the issue is at your end.

    • Hi Paul, I’m having the same problem using the link provided by Phil so I went directly to the publishers website and found you can buy the book without any issues through their online store using the link provided.

I’m looking forward to reading your book by the pool in Fuertaventura Phil. All the hard graft put in down the word mines looks to be paying off! Cheers.

  4. Fantastic news, Phil!
You thoroughly deserve this success. Be coloured very chuffed even to little mint balls.
Looks like I won’t have to wait long for my copy now.

  5. Hope you don’t mind me waiting on the Kindle version, my physical book collection is so large I’ve been donating bundles of novels to charity shops in recent years (as I replace them electronically of course) and by my reckoning it will take at least another 10 years of dedicated re-reading to have these whittled down to a manageable size.

I did love Downfall though, and your continued quality output is sufficient reason to give this latest effort a place alongside my Robert Ludlum books (though his are still in the electronic migration queue).
