It was just another day at Clusterfuck FC.
There was a planned meeting of the Sevco High Command for this morning.
However, just before the dignified conclave was about to begin important news reached the Churchillian gathering.
Paul Murray, who was meant to attend in person, sent in his resignation.
Then news reached that Mr Barry Scott had also resigned.
He was due to dial into the meeting from the Far East where he is based.
However, with these two unexpected resignations, the chaps in the room called off the event.
At the top of the agenda was what they were going to say at the Thursday sit-down with Mr Gerrard and his people.
When I spoke to my Ibrox guy an hour or so ago he said that he was surprised by the events today because had expected other directors to quit!
He opined that the first chap to resign was easy to call.
He stated to me that he considered Mr Murray’s resignation as a “weather vane” as in it was an indication of how things were going generally.
As for Barry Scott, my source reminded me that the Far East based businessman was a close associate of Mr King.
Although the former was based in Asia he did a lot of business in the UK.
Consequently, any Cold Shoulder on King could impact on him is he remained on the RIFC board.
I cannot verify if this reasoning is well founded, I am merely passing it on given the track record of the source.
Mr King didn’t have a good day in court yesterday.
Essentially the Takeover Panel was able to scupper the convicted criminal’s plans to use South Africa as another delaying tactic.
I’m told that the escrow account, the NOMAD, all must be in the UK and acceptable to both the Court and the chaps at the Takeover Panel.
I am steered to the conclusion that what transpired there had a bearing on what happened today.
Now I have a complaint to make about Sevco.
It was my intention to have a day off today.
I had lunch with a friend who is visiting from Glasgow and then enjoyed a relaxed hike in the nearby hills.
My plans for this evening was to indulge in some reminiscing with old friends:
Albert Camus and Philip Roth being prominent on the invite list.
I was setting off my lazy schedule was disrupted by more calamities from Clusterfuck FC.
As I looked down on Lough Altan from Errigal I knew that I would have to come back to Planet Fitba this evening.
For the avoidance of doubt, I would appreciate just one day without chaos seeping out of the stadium that John Brown played for.
Just one day.
Is that too much to ask for?
Perhaps I should just be resigned that such a day will never happen.

My mate was at the Doctor’s this morning…with a frozen shoulder.
He asked the medic…
“What’s the difference between my frozen shoulder…and Sevco’s cold shoulder ?”
He was told…
“You will survive your frozen shoulder.”
Hail hail
Pep Guardiola said he would take the Rangers job if the money was right. The money is coming very soon and so will Pep.
Come on Dave, shut up all these doubters,Phil,JJ, and all the others.
Give SG the £20 millions
re-inlist in the stock exchange, pay off CB, and all the rest, make the share offer it won’t cost anything,as nobody will accept the 20 pence for shares that are worth more.SG will keep all the best players to win the league, before the challenge for the CL.
Everyone knows people are desperate to invest in the club.Dave buy back our history, which will see us return to the top of world football.
The EPL are desperate for us to join them,to raise the profile of their game.
Best of all it will shut up the East end club who think that they dominate Scottish football.
PS
Need to go,as men in white coats are chasing me
Is Stevie G coming as a player/manager?
He’s younger than Kenny Millar and not much older than Alves and probably retains more ability in his big toe than the whole of the current Rangers midfield put together.
Sky is reporting that he’s waiting on written confirmatiom of what transfer monies will be available to him.
Sounds as if his advisors have read the South African judge’s statement about the Glib And Shameless Liar whose word on anything can’t be taken without documented evidence to back it up!
And so it goes on as King ducks and dives doing his bestest not to comply with COS/TOP instructions.
There are a number of reasons why Murray and Scott have jumped ship but as both have careers in the financial sector they know they can’t be anywhere near Ibrox when the Cold Shoulder comes a calling.
Close Brothers will be looking at the small print in their loan agreement with the Ibrox club whilst Metro bank may also have to do walking away.
Apart from the Gerrard squirrel there is nothing but bad news coming out of Ibrox.
A look at the current first team squad and Gerrard will quickly come to the conclusion that only a handful, at most, are capable of not just challenging Celtic but delivering the immediate success demanded by King.
What a workload the DOF will have trying to get the dross off the payroll with only a few likely to attract a fee.
No surprise if Wallace ends up back at Hearts for a £100k fee, £50k of which will be payable if Hearts qualify for CL Group Stages in the next 5 years.
Do the people feel like a shiksa who’s been Phillp Rothed…..
I do hope so….
It doesn’t really matter why they left ,well ,not if you look at the Scottish press in general. The usual positive bullshit is being spun again ,the money men are coming in to replace the two deadbeat directors ,then the small print says His glibness is looking for investors ,which is a long way away from “their coming in” . I respect Mr Gerrard ,I really hope he doesn’t fk his career up by associating himself with the contagion that festers at the deathstar ,once tainted that particular stench is unremovable.
Heard anything about the rumours of Park and wee park flying from the Sevco nest as well?
Initially it was claimed that RRM were on the board so everything would be fine and dandy.
Well we know it wasn’t.
Now that’s been turned on it’s head and King is looking for new investors with no RRM credentials to join the board and pony up.
Problem is who in their right mind, without a trace of RRM blood in their veins, is going to wave goodbye to their hard earned cash to keep a facsimile of Oldco on life support, especially if King is still driving the bus?
There is nothing in it for them, nothing whatsoever, and with the cold shoulder peeping around the corner why risk your reputation by association?
Can’t help but think that it’s Gerrards ego that is driving him towards the Ibrox job perhaps with the notion that it will provide a fast track route to the EPL.
Has his advisors had a good look under the bonnet?
Can they trust a board, many of whom were in situ, as HMRC and the SFA were routinely lied to with regards to EBT’s and UEFA licence applications?
The general consensus down south, mostly ignorant of the facts, is that Stevie G only has Celtic to beat.
Wrong, just wrong. At this very moment a 4th place finish behind the Dons and Hibs would be no surprise.
Leaving the debate of fulfilling the criteria for a UEFA licence aside, European football next season would then be predicated on Celtic winning the Scottish Cup and the 4th placed team in the SPFL taking the final place available.
Oh how the conspiracy theorists would jump on that one if Well were to overcome the Hoops.
It’s actually a belter of a question for Rangets fans……would you welcome European football next season as a result of Celtic completing historic back to back trebles or would you rather Well won the day and the final UEFA place for next season with Rangers missing out as a result?
Assuming further boardroom changes are on the way where will the money come from to repay those who stepped up to the plate to keep the lights on?
Any talk of debt for equity swops is pure nonsense and a share issue, given King’s wee problem with COS/TOP, is further away than ever.
With Celtic closing in on 10 IAR patience will be thin on the ground over in Govan, the fans really will be revolting.
Assuming the new man, Gerrard or another, is given a 3 year contract and Celtic win the league title next season by double digit points, whoever is at the helm won’t survive.
Cue another change at the top.
The dressing room at the moment must be in turmoil.
2 senior players suspended, a rift between the Brits and Johnny foreigner, no idea whats going on at board level, JJ and Jimmy Nichol in charge for the last 3 matches. The former with no managerial experience whatsoever, the latter’s last foray in management in charge of Cowdenbeath who were relegated.
Both of them knowing that the new guy will bring in his own backroom staff so they too will be for the off….more payoffs!
The players aware that the first misdirected pass on Saturday will have the crowd on your back.
Killie might be worth a punt.
Then the last week of their season with trips to Aberdeen and Hibs which will decide the 2/3/4 final placings.
If JJ and JN fail on Saturday will they too be resigned and replaced for the last two games?
Great post Sir especially about the Motherwell theory. It takes me back to when the Huns won the Cup Winners Cup and all those cruel Spanish Polis . Actually that particular year they were in Europe through default it was Celtic who won the Scottish Cup that season. Of course We also won the League and were playing in The Big Cup so the Huns got into the Diddy Cup by the back door .
Watch for the Stevie G story fall on its face and they will then appoint Scotland manager of year Jack Ross.
Scud, nae offense, but please leave oor manager alain. he’s dain a fine joab whar he is.
A couple of different scenarios here.
The shit is about to hit the fan and Billy Boufant and Barry Bang have run to the hills, or, Billy Boufant is about to head up a consortium (Kennedy and Souness) to oust King. I knock Bang out of the equation in the second scenario as he’s one of Kings lapdogs.
If indeed the rumours of a massive investment from the far east were true I’m sure both Boufant and Bang would have hung around for the plaudits.
So, with Paul Murray and Barry Scott ( BANG and the dirt is gone ! ) now history, what Machiavellian twists and turns can we expect from Ibroke today, Phil ?
It’s becoming quite apparent that David Cunningham King hasn’t so much been playing The Old Firm as The Long Firm. His plan all along has been to reduce the club to such a distressed state that a second administration becomes the only option.
At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if he then parachutes in the son of Douglas Park and his access to the Wallace Arnold fortune who picks up the “basket of assets” for a song and invests heavily in Ran*ers Mk3
My guess is that it will then take them a further 7 years to recover from this particular “clusterfuck”.
Hail and Hail again !
Surely a Movie of This Shite must be in the Making. With the Brown Bomber reading out the opening Salvo. Never on The Field of Human History has so Much Pleasure been Granted by So Few to so Many. Talking on the Palladium AKA Hun Radio the other night one young Hun said that a Bus from his Area would still leave to watch Sevco even if said Shite was played in The Albion Car Park. Were i him ad try and choose my words carefully as The Big Hoose must really be in serious Jeopardy of Going Down .
I could imagine the opening soliloquy
“Two households, both alike in dignity-aside (whispers…who wrote this shite) in fair Glasgow where we lay our scene.
Phil, we’re in the same boat. It’s difficult to go to sleep pissing myself laughing every night.
How can someone who only owns a little over 15% of the shares exert so much control over that club? Why hasn’t there been an attempt by the other directors or shareholders to remove the glib and shameless one as chairman? I can only think it’s Kool-Aid that they sup from their so called loving cup.
Phil you really do have to keep yourself in the loop fully, if you had you would know it was no surprise that those fellows departed as it was done to free up seats for the Chinese investors who according to a fine fellow of the followfollow klan has on good authority because his (dad) knows an accountant involved in the movement of £500m in the direction of Govan. So it looks like a hover pitch, casino, along with world domination are back on the menu, and face painters, broadband suppliers and local newsagents can partake in a private sigh of relief.
Could it be that yer man King is in the process of punting his shares to some unscrupulous Asian investor with a view to avoiding any comebacks from the Takeover Panel?
I mean to say you would have to be a bit on the glib and shameless side to pull such a sneaky move ahem ?
https://imgflip.com/gif/29ios7
It’s time King was brought down, once and for all. The guy is anonce, nae money, nae plan, nae manager, nae chance. It’s close, so close to conclusion. Again top article Phil, enjoy a day off soon!
Oh, Ian, Ian, Ian.
Never in the history of football have so many laughed so often at two clubs.
Hi Phil.
Rumours doing the rounds here that the Parks will resign tomorrow.

No more of that.

Hi Phil
Apologies didn’t realise I said anything to upset anyone.
Then read your post again.
It’s been edited.
If it’s the bit about Gruigan Mhor it’s the hillside above where I stay and the views are spectacular. Apologies and keep up the good work.
But…but…Murray and Scott have surely resigned to make room for the Chinese investors coming in this summer (copyright Mark Guidi) and, presumably, to give them a voting majority among the High Command. No?
Any rumours that Mr Barry Scotts investors from Hong Kong are not too keen on getting shares for the actual cash they invested in ” the Rangers ”
Do you have any figures Phil for the amount of cash that came from Hong Kong for soft loans if this is true ?
I wouldn’t be surprised if the resignations were Takeover Panel-related, but my first thought was “cost cutting measure” as those unsalaried NEDs seem to have been rather well “expensed”. Either way, to paraphrase Dylan (the musical one), a long dark cloud is coming down …
Clusterfuck F.C.
Lol
Well Phil, I hope that day never comes!
phil i heard mark guidi on radio saying there was investement going into sevco any truth in this?
Mark Guidi also said that Gerrard would be announced as new manager of Clusterfuck F.C. on Monday. In any case, money into that place is no investment, it’s throwing it down a rat hole. The only way an Ibrox team can hope to compete with Celtic consistently is with long term investment in the clubs infrastructure. But that takes time and patience, so it won’t happen.
There has been talk of investment for months now and nothing has materialised.
Guidi and his ilk should stop confusing investment with donations.
6 years of losses at Newco following in the steps of the multi million pound losses at Oldco.
With the exception of Close Brothers those who made the soft loans can kiss their money goodbye.
There is no possibility of a share issue till King complies with COS/TOP demands, even then who knows?
The only road to profitability is via CL Group Stage qualification.
The earliest Newco will get this opportunity is season 2019/20 so in the meantime someone has to fund the losses which will be substantially higher than the £7m reported in the last audited accounts. Funding running cost losses is as far as you can get from the definition of investment but as their customer base can’t deal with the truth then it’s sold to them as investment when the reality is that the money disappears down that big hole on Edmiston Drive never to reappear.
Even a place in UEFA competitions next season is in doubt for various reasons.
Manager sacked, board members resigning, surviving month to month on soft loans and a Close Brothers loan secured on physical assets which can easily be removed and sold.
Frantic efforts are being made to sign a box office name with no management experience whatsoever other than coaching youths.
This is driving delusion to new levels amongst their fans.
Eg. Greg Docherty will come to the fore under the tutelage of Stevie G!
The Doc apparently has been signed on a 4 year contract for near to £1m pounds.
Again ignorance is bliss. The full amount has not been paid and the original reported fee was around £600k, a long way short of £1m.
Paul Murray, unlike King, is an ICAS member.Barry Scott is employed in finance in Hong Kong.
Perhaps they have jumped knowing that the cold shoulder is on it’s way as their careers would be in jeopardy if they remained as Directors of the football club.
It’s a feckin shambles which serves to highlight the lack of leadership at the top.
The farcical recruitment process is a sympton of the lack of a plan.
God knows what Gerrard has been promised but he’s on a hiding to nothing no matter what.
If Brendan stays on to steer Celtic to 10 IAR then the next Newco manager, and the one after will pay the price, not the board.
If Murty has been set loose without a confidentiality agreement in place he will no doubt have a few storirs to share.
Unlikely. I’m sure I heard a reference to a hover pitch yesterday. Many squirrels have been released this week.
Yes indeed, I can confirm an emotional investment of upwards of 20 million pounds of pure horse manure, as the peepul eagerly await Steven Gerrard and Fenway Sports riding in on King Billy’s charger.
On the financial front, sadly, it’s two tin cans and a dod of chewing gum – one careful owner. xD
Aye. They’re going to get 50 gazillions for Morales from Szechuan Kickabelly Rovers. Who won’t actually play him cos he’s too valuable to risk getting him injured. Theyre just going to keep him safe for six months until his value shoots up to 60 gazillions then they’ll punt him onwards and upwards.
Yip. It’s true.
William Billy McStaunch has renewed his season ticket.
The Rainjurs are comin
Yes there is
No
The’word’ according to Guidi is much like ‘record sport understands’ or more broadly speaking …
“Here’s some shite we made up.”
