Graeme Murty and the Sevco garbage

Today Brendan Rodgers said that young Master Murts had been “thrown to the Garbage”.

I know that when Murty stepped down from the caretaker role the first time around that Rodgers had contacted him with his good wishes.

The Irishman let him know that he had done really well under the circumstances, especially with a very creditable and unexpected 1-1- draw at Celtic Park during the Invincible season.

Therefore, Rodgers holds Murty in high regard.

Perhaps the Irishman was referring to how the ex-Reading legend was treated by his own club at Parkhead yesterday.

I am told that an older member of the Sevco dugout crew was tasked by the Sevco High Command to take the pre-match team talk and the half-time autopsy.

Indeed, my information is that an inter-galactic PR guru was instrumental in telling poor young Murty that he wasn’t to be in the dressing room at all.

This comes from a good source.

However, if my information is erroneous then the Engine Room Subsidiary can emerge from hiding and speak to the world.

It must be Statement O Clock about now…

  1. I gave quite admired Steven Gerard’s career to this date… But I will (as with anyone who takes the bait) never have any sympathy for a man who takes the sevco job on the temptation of it being a stepping stone OR the belief that it is a big and important club.

I know there us a groundswell if sympathy for Murty … There should be regarding his treatment. He was on the inside however and knew the MO. so there us no sympathy from me as he took the job knowing what was very likely in store. Mr Gerard will equally get no sympathy if and when it goes wrong ( if being IF he signs… If he does , failure is guaranteed)

  2. My own belief is that their plan all along was to install Nicholl as manager with Miller as assistant, thereby, new management team for no new outlay.
Unfortunately, the plan has failed to get off the ground as there is no positive story which can be gleaned from yesterday. Even more problematic for King (not that he’ll actually give a hoot) is the fact that even the most stupid of the Sevconians are now showing signs and making comment that they don’t believe in the board and they are being constantly humiliated by Level5. Many of them are totally unimpressed by the Gerrard connection and simply don’t even care if it’s true or not. The only concern for us is they may have finally bottomed out and the only way is up! Unless of course, they have a whole new level of nonsense to stoop to that we haven’t yet seen or been able to imagine.
I just hope they keep throwing money they can’t afford at a certain Level as the bull@#*t is right up there with some of the greatest comedy ever witnessed.
So proud of our Club, team and supporters yesterday (as always) and the sheer class in offering such a warm welcome to Messrs Halliday and Morelos in particular will go into the unbroken history books of this institution and will be told for decades to come.
Halliday especially, will carry that experience with him for the rest of his life and not just his football career. Imagine the shame of the opposition fans cheering your very presence on the park. Morelos, I’m sure will get over it by about………….final whistle yesterday.
Thank you Celtic for a fantastic demolition job, despite it being against a very irrelevant outfit.

  3. Wow.

I had previously thought I’d have to go to Earth-2149 of the Marvel Comics multiverse to find a reality where Rangers would have James Traynor bouncing their manager out the dressing room before the game.

Wonder what “Stevie G” will make of that – if and when his time comes around?

That uppity scouser would certainly be put in his place at Ibrox!

“Aye, yer maybe big news in Croxteth son, but here yer jist another wee chav on our books. Bomber Broon’s giving the team talk the day – now bolt!

“…and leave ma hubcaps alone, ya cheeky wee wrong’un!” xD

  4. The silence from sevco is truly deafening and we won’t hear a word until Murty is shown the door and Mr A.N. Other takes over the hotseat. HH

  5. The mark of a ‘man’ is, amongst other qualities, in how he treats those less fortunate than himself.

BR, in all likelihood has exposed himself to ” fucks it got to do with you?”, his compassion will be unwelcome in many quarters………not all of which will be staunch.

I consider this an unprecedented consideration on his part, to both Graeme Murty………..and Stevie G

  6. I,normally, wouldn’t have a good word to say about anyone associated with Sevco…but I’ll make an exception in Graham Murty’s case.
He has always acted in a dignified manner….and that’s something that’s obviously missing with his Board of Directors.
He has been thrown to the garbage…(To quote BR)…and you can only wonder about the way this club runs itself.
I wish him well in his future career…wherever it is.

  7. So are you saying, Phil, that as of halftime in that game yesterday Murts had actually tendered his resignation but just hasn’t been informed of it officially yet by King et al?

  8. Poor treatment of Murty, he should have kept to it being a temp covering job but it seems he may have been impacted by Sevcosis and thought he was a shoe in. Maybe he listened to King. Unfortunately this time i think he may be booted out rather than revert back to past role.

It seems the safest place for Murts was well away from the dressing room.

Mixed on the SG approach. I think he is doomed if he takes it but alternatively a good take on for Celtic, Hibs, Dons, Killie, Hearts etc.

  9. Been grinning all day from when I got up at 5-40 this morning. Loving hearing words like ‘rout’, ‘demolition’ , massacre’ etc etc all over the uk media , not just Scotland where the gulf in everything is undeniable. Janna must be in a meltdown wondering how to spin this one . Maybe just waiting for that Mr Gerrard to take the ‘massive club’, ‘European football’ ,huge investment bait. He isn’t supposed to be too sharp on the broader fiscal fine points.

Interesting how the Rainjuurz website ( yes had a wee swatch to see how they were handling things) is suffering some form of amnesia or ‘missing time’ like some sort of close encounter has taken place.

Not a mention of the weekend result. No score, no review , nothing!

It’s like it never happened .

Seems to be the Sevco way. Something massive and unpleasant happens to your sorry existence and they just pretend it never did.

Get back to where you belong. Looks like 4th place from where I’m sitting sitting.

    • Tam,please do not take this personally it’s just my own opinion, and if it any way upsets you I apologise right now,I am Sorry….

Aw poor you bazza ,that really upset you?
bazza n mcgregor throughout a Scottish International match behaving like spoilt teenagers,’throwing signs’ REALLY cheesed me off,he has no room, nor right,to speak of anyone’s behaviour after that childlike display on that day.

This will be the same farry berguson that now has no property nor funds after registering it all in his wife’s name to avoid, the hopefully,up and coming court cases about the illegal EBT scheme.Showing his true selfish nature and indeed proving his quintessentially british nature,ie a selfish bar steward.
Greed is an unfortunate occurrence in human nature,a basic fault,if you like.
I mean, how cowardly, greedy, and hypocritical can this man be?
EBT the shoite out out of him.

Anyway,I thought every CFC? fan took NOTHING to do with that ‘newspaper’ includes visiting or using their links.

Here’s the link,to CNN simply register and use the customisable settings.PLEASE.We All must be United to have real change happen.I won’t go holding my breathe.

In the new CelticNewsNow app,I think,as yet unreleased, there will be a settings button,on top right of the page, that means you can control where your news comes from.Therefor you should, imho, tick the boxes the boxes for the dr the sun,and any other publications/sites that do Our Club down.7UP.✅

Thanks Phil, but that’s just enough for today,CFC? fans should really know better, much better by now.
How any self respecting CFC? can visit links or still worse, buy that shoite baffles me.

eh.THUGS and THIEVES from the Christmas night out in Newcastle springs to mind.

Again Phil,I thank you for All your hard work.TAL.

  11. For everyone’s sake Murty should have been stood down after the cup semi.
It’s been made clear that he’s toast so just come out and make it public.
Unfortunately for Murty his second spell as interim coach will have cost him his old job with the youths as there is no way back for him with the fans.
I hope he’s suitably renumerated if pushed out the door, can’t help feel sorry for him taking the stick from the fans and media while King sits at home in South Africa tuning in to Liverpool TV.
This shambles is a direct result of the crap PR that Rangers are paying through the nose for.
At least Stevie G and the Fat Controller can exchange memories of their favourite Celtic games.
Stevie might plump for his trip to Seville to cheer on the Hoops, Traynor might go for one of the big European nights at Celtic Park in the late 60’s as he left Airdrie to travel on one of Phil Cole’s numerous busses out of Coatbridge to Paradise.
Yep he did, not that I’m calling him a glory hunter, more a case of where did it all go wrong Jim?
