Battering Sevco and feeling champion

Good morning.

I hope that you’re all feeling champion just like me.

Yesterday a sell-out crowd at Celtic Park watched the  Dénouement Derby.

Long before the final whistle, the Dunkirk Spirit was in evidence.

Remember “the gap”?

Yes, that gap.

During the tenure of the Admirable Warburton, the narrative that was force fed to the stenographers was that the gap was being closed and that Celtic would soon be under pressure.

Really?

Of course, all sporting contests reveal a lot about the quality of the preparation.

In my youth, in the square ring, the wisdom of oul fellas was “never leave the fight in the gym”.

Roy Keane in his playing days lived by the following mantra:

“Fail to prepare, prepare to fail”.

He held himself to very high standards and that, in essence, is what led to the Saipan meltdown.

Being holed up with the rank amateurs of the FAI on a Pacific island was just too much for the driven perfectionist.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that before he decided on the professional football route Roy Keane was an amateur boxer.

I opined to an ex-professional player yesterday that I could see Mr Gerrard experiencing Saipan pains when he realised the state of affairs at Murray Park.

I’m told that over the last week Mr Bomber had been gate-crashing Murty’s training sessions to implore the Sevco players to get stuck in.

However, yesterday it was Celtic who were able to show the title deeds.

Last night it was the Sevco Player of the Year awards.

I know, I know…

Let’s just say that it wasn’t well recived by some of the Ibrox customer base.

Anyway, there are unconfirmed reports that there was an outbreak of Unsurpassed Dignity at this stellar event.

Apparently, some of the Ibrox clientele showed up uninvited.

I think it is fair to say that The People are revolting.

Of course, the Gerrard squirrel worked a treat last week.

It deflected from the fact that Sevco had to face Celtic in the next mismatch.

If the ex-Liverpool player does decide to start his managerial career at Ibrox then it will be a season ticket masterstroke by King.

The stenographers will do their on-the-level best over the summer to convince The People that Steven George Gerrard MBE is the Scouse Guardiola.

For the avoidance of doubt, I am entirely agnostic on Mr Gerrard’s abilities as a football manager.

However, I have absolute certainty on the quality of any verbal assurance given to him by Mr David Cunningham King.

If Mr Gerrard decides to take the McInnes route and body swerve the Ibrox shambles then King still got a week of positive PR out of it.

This week the South African based convicted criminal will certainly need something similar because the Takeover Panel haven’t gone away you know.

A trusted Square Mile Source said to me yesterday:

“The Takeover Panel has done this by the book and they’re going for it.”

For the avoidance of doubt so are Brendan Rodgers and his Bhoys.

If this was a boxing match it would have been stopped long ago.

Sevco are on the ropes and doing a reasonable impression of a lifeless punch bag.

I have written here many times since it was established in 2012 the new club was not a viable vehicle for the fascist supremacism of The People.

Of course, they have a choice, the klan could just realise that they’re people like you and me dear reader.

However, while they remain thirled to a supremacist belief system they will continue to suffer.

That works for me.

I’m still felling champion.

Aon rud eile.

  1. Verbal assurances by his glibness aren’t worth the flying monkeys entanglement I’ve mentioned previously.

I’m loving this slowly catching up although,my sides and back hurt when reading, not from my illness, through the hilarity of Mr.Fears penmanship.

I will attempt to vote again, for now though WELL DONE LIVERPOOL FC ❤️?
I sincerely hope they go on and beat the Madrid royalists.

    Thank you Mr. Fear.

n ps I’m still feeling champion too, unfortunately it’s not running as far as to affect my recovery, however, thee best medicine is without doubt laughter and Phil, you certainly provide that.

  2. I personally couldn’t believe the Final score was only 5 -0 . When Celtic scored the 4th memories of names like Charles Patrick Tully and Geordy Niven were going through my head . I even at one point thought of Arbroath v Bon-accord. Am sure that if the Tic had tried in the 2nd half they would have scored every time that they went within 30yards of the Huns Goal that they didn’t begs the question why . My theory ( and it is of course only a theory ) . Is that the Glasgow Polis had a we word with Mr Rodgers and after 5 begged him not to score anymore and that Lustig could keep the Hat.

    • A £30m war chest. Bear with me while I do some off the top of my head sums. Forget the 20p dodgy Dave has been told to offer. Most analysts reckon 10p would be generous. I believe there are in the region of 80m shares presently in circulation. Any new share issue would dilute the value of the existing shares but lets just kid on it wouldn’t. To raise £30m at 10p per share would require an issue of 300m shares, almost multiplying by 5 the number of shares currently out there. At the diluted price a share issue of over 1,ooo,ooo,ooo (that’s right ONE BILLION PLUS) shares would need to be sold. Ain’t happening!!

  5. Honest football teams who have went to the wall are never mentioned. Celtic fc nearly went that way too. Not a word from the media or politicians of dismay at the prospect of Critic’s demise. But step up Alex Salmond, “We can’t let this happen to rangers. They are woven into the very fabric of society”. David Cameron, “Let’s hope the taxman takes it easy on jolly old rangers”. Alex McLeish, “Scotland needs a strong rangers”. Hello?? Gretna?? Spartans?? Who cares?? Certainly not the aforementioned charlatans. All rats in the one sack.

  7. “Denouement” was the perfect description for yesterday’s game, Phil. Now do you know a word which goes beyond “schadenfreude” to describe what I’m feeling today?

  8. Hi Phil, Being at the game yesterday was fantastic and a great performance from the Bhoys in Green and White. What a pity we did not score another 2 or 3 goals to really rub it in to Sevco there goalkeeper had some amazing saves to stop us. I don’t want them to die i want them to suffer for years and years.
Keep up the great work Phil only you are keeping us updated on everything. My vote has has been in. Good Luck. Hail Hail

  9. Firstly. Well done to the players, staff and management, on securing 7 titles in a row, and taking us to the brink of an historic B2B Treble.
    Our date with destiny awaits.
May 19th, Hampden, Motherwell will be up for it and we can’t take anything for granted.

I just want to say I feel vindicated for criticism of our team and Brendan, as I have previously done.

As yesterday we showed what we can do, so 0-0 and 1-1 and all the other poor draws at home are genuinely not good enough. Yes the teams come and make it hard, I’m there watching it, I can see. But we lacked spark and movement.

Yesterday was different, although the ibrox team were in disarray, we still were far too good.

I made myself a couple hundred. On handicap betting. I rarely bet now,but Celtic -2 and -3 were far too good to not take up.

So here we are one game away from history. After that the job must continue. We must make ourselves a bit different, less predictable as Hibs in 3 matches could easily have beaten us in all 3. For life of me I can’t recall the fourth game.

Hearts got their one off result.

    Europe awaits and new challenges.
Roberts must be returned to city. Armstrong either sold or made to commit properly.

    Ntcham, what a signing.
    Komperr (spelling), oh dear.

Edouard must be made permanent, at 20 he has pace and movement that a more physical Dembele doesn’t.

Griffiths, has to accept he will be more squad that first team. As does Rogic. But both must be kept, as they bring aspects that only they can bring.
Griffiths possibly most intelligent attacker we or anybody in Scotland has. Nice flicks and lay offs he really is “the catalyst” as a certain Steven Gerrard noted summarising in a BT studio after a champions league qualifier.

Ajer is blossoming. Lustig is criminal at times (hats off) but should stay.

Bain I like as a back up/ rival to Gordon.
Kieran, well he’s our Bhoy, forrest should remain a Bhoy.

Scott brown, well enjoy this while we can, as he won’t be around forever. Without him we really are at our weakest.
No one player is more sorely missed than when the captain is not playing.
A gradual or replacement must be found.

Can John Mcginn add something long term, he’s a class act.

Anyway I’m so proud of the club, come what may we just stay prudent with the pennies and try fashion up something better in Europe.

I love you Celtic. I always will.

  10. Phil, vote registered and bests for the count.
Edouard can’t shield the ball when it’s 40 yards away but he does do a few other things very reminiscent of Kenny.

  11. Feeling champion…..yes Phil, I would have to say that today I certainly feel that way. Yesterday, while in the Greyhound bar in Tralee, watching the game with the Tralee CSC, my 11 year old daughter, who enjoyed the game immensely, asked me something after the 5th goal went in.
She said, ‘Dad, every time I come here with you, Celtic always beat Rangers really hard (her exact words), are you not bored of seeing them do that to Rangers all the time?’
So many thoughts went through my head about how to answer her question. She’s only starting on her road as a Celtic supporter and to explain to her what has gone before all of this is just too deep for an 11 year old, so I tried to simplify my answer as best I could.
I said, ‘Love, I will never get sick of seeing Celtic beat Rangers hard. What you’re seeing now is what’s called Karma. When you cheat for many years, this is how it comes back to haunt you. When you’re older, you’ll understand and I’ll explain it to you more then. For now just enjoy this and enjoy the atmosphere.’
Her reply was a thing of beauty. She said, ‘Oh, I am Dad. I want to come to every Celtic, Rangers game that I can with you. You never kiss me as much as you do at these games and I love it!’
All the guys around me erupted in laughter and I hugged her. This is what Celtic is all about. She’s never tasted the pain I did during the 90’s and the cheating years and some day when she understands better, I will explain it to her. But for now, I’m going to enjoy her innocence and how she sees my joy and elation every time we do this to Rangers. I haven’t forgotten August 94 to February 97 and how long I waited for a win during those bleak years. How I watched us tear them to shreds in games and come away with nothing after being thwarted again and again by Andy Goram. That was the fundamental difference between us and the current Sevco side, we gave it everything during those years, we threw everything, including the kitchen sink at them, which made it all the harder to stomach when we came away with nothing against them.
The same can’t be said for the current team that plays out of Ibrox. They really are spineless. Oh yes, Karma is a thing of beauty and I am feeling champion today!

  14. Lets give credit to the unsung heroes in the Ibrox clusterfuck.
Sir David Murray, special thanks for your massive contribution, without your input days like yesterday may never have happened.
Level 5, again without your input by continually pulling the wool over the fans eyes telling them that everything was great, when it wasn’t.
And last but not least the Scottish media who bent over backwards to print and promote half truths and downright lies provided by the PR disaster that is Level 5.
    Just heard that McLeish interview.
Quote’ Celtic and Scottish football will improve with a stronger Rangers in the league.’
Where do you start with that nonsense but he didn’t stop there.
Nope, it’s not a level playing field at the moment he said without a hint of embarrassment.
An EBT recipient in charge of a team full of them without which they couldn’t have afforded the players.
That’s certainly not a level playing field Eck, is it, robbing the public purse to fund Murray’s calling card…absolutely shameless and obviously has a very selective memory.

Your right it doesn’t get much better than this, they’re truly back in their box.
The ToP certainly move slowly but I suspect their making sure they have all their ducks in a row.

  16. Great performance from the bhoys yesterday. The double treble is a distinct possibility and at the moment it is a great time to be a celtic fan. On the other hand the club from Govan seem to go from bad to worse. No sympathy for them. I quite enjoy reading about their troubles but have to admit it’s getting quite boring. Looking at Celtic right now they are miles ahead of them in every single department. Hoping the bhoys kick on and get the double treble as the club from Govan lurch from one disaster to another. Hail Hail.

I haven’t heard a single word from him on the whole The Rangers wild red squirrel chase.

What about the Deputy Chairman and the CEO. Are their under a D Notice too?

Today, I’ll mostly be singing “Our Lips are Sealed” in the style of The Fun Boy Three with due respoect to The Go-Go’s.
