Nollaig shona daoibh

This is probably the correct time to take a few days off from this craic.

It is my intention to be back here on Stephen’s Day.

In the meantime dear reader, I trust that you are where you need to be and that you’re surrounded by those you care about.

The year has turned and the daylight will now grow in this hemisphere until the summer solstice next June.

The darkness is in retreat a few minutes each day and that gives me hope.

For those of you who are religious then I trust that you will find succour at this time of year.

I hope that you have enjoyed the content here over the past 12 months.

At all times you, the reader, are my priority.

Have a great Christmas.

  1. Seasons greetings to yourself Phil and to real journalists everywhere. Peace and goodwill to all men – except of course the sevco board and their SMSM yes men. May THEY all be visited by every plague and pestilence imaginable!

  2. Hello Phil
Have a happy and healthy christmas

As we aim to wrap 2017 up over the next week, it is worth looking back on what was a very special year for our football club, 50th anniversary of the Lisbon Lions, a magnificent invincible football team on the park that broke lots of records

On the charity front, the club remains true to its roots and never fails to amaze me with their kindness and generosity

2017 on a personal note, was a very special year and wish to take this opportunity to thank yourself for your continued support in promoting our charity projects through your site, facebook, twitter etc

2017 will go down as being one of those very special years and we appreciated your encouragement and support to myself and our 30 cyclists on our “The Road To Lisbon” journey of a lifetime

    Thanks again for everything

    Hail Hail

  6. Merry Christmas to you comrade. And thank you for the consistant manner of your reporting. No moon landings, no narcism fuelled ego trips. Just the facts that our dear media refuse to report through fear or blindness.

I hope you and your loved ones have a peaceful Christmas and New Year full of contentment.

    • You may want to apologise. Everyone in Ireland calls Boxing Day, Stephens Day
also when Good King W, last looked out, it was on the Feast of Stephen. No mention of any Saint, but we all know who we are refering to.
Nothing to do with a lack of respect for faith. HH

  12. The £11m decision against King was so insignificant and no biggie, King has to appeal it. Lol.

Except, there’s no legal grounds for appeal. No appeal has gone forward.
The Bannatyne ruling is watertight and has no flaws for appeal.

Jabba is irrelevant bye bye Jabba.

    • No legal grounds for appeal have been established.

Indeed his appeal to lord Bannatynne had no grounds. Bannatyne rubbished his impoverished claim And called him a clever player. Bannatyne rubbished under Law his control or non control of NOAL As neither here nor there.

This is pre Christmas pish. You’re fucked King. Totally fucked.

      • He did not appeal to Bannatyne at the Court of Session, the TOP sued him for compliance with their ruling. Bannatyne delivered the compliance order.

      • I think this is an attempt at staving off private litigation claims from Somers, Llambias and Leach and others.

But it will catch him up in the end.

  16. Truth is not a small matter. It’s one of the two most precious things given to us. And yet those who bear it are so often fated to be the projection screens for the unacknowledged emotions of others – suspicion at best, and outright hostility, if the truth-telling is persisted in.

Nevertheless, its transmission is one of the highest and most honourable of callings, in whatever degree the task is given to us to carry out.

God bless, Phil, and have a great Christmas. The days are already stretching themselves to greet the Spring.

Don’t believe in the aul god fellah and Donegal can be a bit of a hole sometimes… but looking forward to the new year none the less.

    Onwards and upwards!

The light shines in the darkness and the darkness shall never overcome it.

Come on the Celts and happy Christmas.

  18. Sir Alex Ferguson wrote of their anti catholic bigotry in his first book.
    Things have not changed.
I fear they cannot learn and find humility.
Their embrace of DCK has been a chilling welcome to the graveyard
    They will not endure.
Those honest and decent will join normal society and leave them to diminish in historical bigoted insignificance.
Normal Scottish Society leaves them behind. Businessmen who go there are untouchable.

Merry Christmas to all in here.

Thank you too, for all the intelligent and insightful non-football offerings. Best wishes to you and yours, from me and mine!
