Sevco director warned about a contagious cold shoulder

I was saddened to learn today that a member of the Sevco High Command was given some tough advice recently.

The director of RIFC was told by the boss in his day job that his connection to Mr David Cunningham King was not compatible with his chosen career path.

The chap in question works in financial services and the impending “Cold Shoulder” sanction on the Sevco Chairman threatens everyone around Mr King.

Consequently, the director has a hard call to make.

It is all very sad.

  1. Chris Jack in the ET yesterday splashed an article all over the back page hailing the magnificent victory of the Newco youths in a cup tie against Thistle’s kids!
This is as desperate as it gets. Celtic in Paris then back to a League Cup final on Sunday.
It’s pretty concrete evidence that there is no good news, none. Losses, on and off the park, no leadership in the boardroom or dugout, Alves in the huff, unsustainable wage bill, toxic in the City and to sponsors!
The list is never ending, but hey Chris is still in their punching with another back page article today on the same youth cup tie praising the fortitude and bravery of the Newco youths.
It’s pathetic to say the least but gives a clear insight into how desperate things are at Ibrox if this is the extent of the good news.
Keep it up Chris, really enjoying your ‘work.’

  2. Much as I would have liked our Scottish players to have experienced a world cup in Russia it’s just dawned on me what the impact would have been on Celtic’s CL qualifying campaign.
Brendan’s already talking of bulking up the squad to compensate for the loss of Rogic etc but if Scotland had qualified we would have had to replace an entire team probably killing our chances of Group Stage qualification.

  3. As Phil always states this creation will survive if peepul keep writing cheques. I’m just surprised that Celtic Football Club still use a certain Pen Carrier’s buses which will again be trundling it’s wheels to Hampden on Sunday …

  4. Ok ok stop gloating. Enjoy Celtic and our achievements. But cmon put them into perspective. We need an accomplished and few wins against a top 10 Europe’s side, a semi final in the Europa league to be the same team as 2003. As great as it is at the moment the teams in Scotland are bang bong poor. Still hard to beat, especially on plastic, bobbly and rugby like surfaces. Still loving it though

  5. You know the game’s up when a topic in the Newco blogs is headed ‘The players we could have signed.’
They are all there…Ronaldo, Berkamp and many others.
The entitlement theme runs through all the posts as the writers claim that it was the thought of coming to Scotland and playing in crappy stadiums that put them off because money would never have been a problem as Oldco was rolling in it.
So there we have it, money no object.
Most of them don’t realise that the money came from a bank within a bank at HBOS and that SDM never spent a penny of his own.
Not only that, he paid himself £6m in EBT’s and had the brass neck to charge the club £500k per year for his EBT professional services, plus had a finger in other revenue sources in catering, security etc.
The pain currently being inflicted on Newco’s fans is directly attributable to Murray’s actions and strategies.
Yet the Scottish media is loath to vent any sort of criticism towards the knighted one.
Perhaps in a couple of years time as 10 IAR beckons someone in the blue facing media might go off message and point the finger of guilt at Murray.
The media, next to Murray, can also take their share of the blame with 10 years and more of feeding the gullibles with good news fairy tales, floating pitches, casinos, et al and at any cost keep a lid on bad news.
Heaven knows what else the media is sitting on but we have learned from the recently published accounts that it cost King £3m to buy off Ashley… Hardly the triumph reported in the media.
Then during Whyte’s trial we found out that Murray was incentivised to dump Oldco when HBOS offered him the opportunity to buy back part of his old MIM business.
An opportunity he grasped and Craig Whyte got the club for £1 despite information supplied to Murray by the Oldco board that Whyte was a wrong un.
The media won’t to near the UEFA licence granted to Oldco in 2012 despite social taxes clearly outstanding.
Why not, its a great story with some of those responsible still involved in Scottish football.
Regan’s response has been to pass the matter to his compliance officer when he should have been calling in Police Scotland fraud squad.
It’s not gone away Regan and hopefully those involved in making the fraudulent application and subsequent cover up face the consequences of their actions.
What conclusion will the compliance officer come to…admin error, imperfect but legal.
It’s scandalous and if the clubs refuse to expose the SFA then the Scottish Government should be sticking their nose in.
The Sports Minister has the facts but has failed to act on them.
It’s ridiculous that 5 years down the road the truth hasn’t been splashed all over the media and no one has been brought to book for the biggest fraud in Scottish football history.
Can you imagine the compliance officer reporting back to his line manager on his findings?
Stuey,er we appear to have a wee problem here!

    • Excellent post Joe….well done.
Two weeks ago I also forecast an “imperfect but legal” outcome….we shall see.
As for the overall situation..so much damaging information has been in the public domain for so long now…yet virtually nothing changes.
In any other country Sir Minty would be in serious trouble.
The “Establishment”, however, will ride this out…because…
      This is Scotland.

  7. Just heard from a good source that fair weather lies ahead for the urinary capsules (The Pee-pills). Apparently Alice Mc Coiste unearthed a strange looking lamp whilst on gardening duty. On giving the artefact a good rub, Alice was greeted by a strange looking Arabian-type chap who introduced himself as Greenie. Greenie noticed Alice was a bit perplexed and asked what was the cause for worrying. Alice bared his soul with a story of all that was bad about Ilpox. To stop the rant and protect his sides from splitting Greenie offered Alice three wishes. Without hesitation Alice pleaded for three wins.

      • Maybe not for nothing. But I’ll tell you right now, I firmly believe that if he offered the three bears every penny back that they’ve spent on shares and loans they wouldn’t walk away………they would absolutely high tail it. Leaving big Mike and the Lying King to have a love in.

        • See, ya problem there is, you’ve confused a daydream sugar daddy who loves burning tenners with a bona fide zero-hours, piss-in-your-own-time billionaire. He’d make the RRM hangers-on buy their own blazers and booze and he’d rip into the SFA and SPFL everytime their corruption and incompetence cost him money. Which is why he’ll never be welcome at Ibrox or Hampden – that is – should he ever have a really bad acid trip and think Scottish football can make him more cash than selling crap sock at three pairs for two quid.

          • Yeah and they need a new £70m stadium minimum. Big Mike ain’t footing that.

            Neither is anyone else.

I agree with Mensch, It’s a crummy £30m turnover, loss making, £20m indebted, small business going bust. I wouldn’t get involved with it and it shouldn’t have any influence in scottish or uk society. It’s insignificant and run by fourth rate businessmen.

Perhaps they should bring the sectarian police officer into their house as their first female exec? She has shown all the inappropriate cultural leanings and clearly belongs.

    • Never the sevco faithful tried and failed to scam the man plus there is no way king will leave without bringing them down until he has a sure fire way of getting his investment back he won’t leave. The ibrokes outfit is toxic they had there chance to have a billionaire owner who was gonna invest millions but the fans and the board thought fuck that so done what they do best and walked away. 8. Knowing what you know about the financial footing of Sevco, would you be comfortable seeking financial services from a director of said club/company?

  9. £300m bid tabled for Newcastle United FC so Ashley will soon be free to over-invest in RIFC.

L5, you read it hear first.

Tomorrow, in anticipation, I’ll mostly be singing “Lip Up Fatty” by Bad Manners – is that Him Mikeness or a PR Guru in the video ? That’s quite wrong!

  10. I can really feel your sadness Phil, trouble is,when I picture you and that ‘sadness’ I can barely stop myself laughing.

Of course;I’m sure your sincere,ho-ho-ho! Well it’s nearing that time.

What are they gonna do for Christmas?,maybe they’ll have a televised Christmas Special, that way everyone in the U.K. can also join in the ‘sadness’.You never know they could be onto something that might actually turn a profit.I can see it now all the sevco favourites queuing up for a part in the Special, sorry Supper(Super)Special.Ali Murdoch McCoist can obviously take the lead role and he can also double up and star in the programme scheduled before the Christmas Supper Special,The Beechgrove Garden(Well beached).Well,he’s gotta put those newly acquired skills to some use, after all he was on gardening leave for a year or so,so he must’ve upped his skills in that time.

Anyway Phil I shall leave the thought of that with you, your skills at putting meat onto that hysterical carcass are way,way better than mine.

Merry Christmas Bhoys N Ghirls ?

  11. no worries – L5 will have no problem explaining away his resignation as a director – all part of the greater planTimmy – ffs – will it take another 8 minutes of Lord Hodge’s time to convince many of them that there is any financial problem at all.

  12. What a disgrace, what an absolute shambles. The fact that the governing body sanctioned this group of bandits and now continues to do all they can to prop them up is the real issue. The tribute act stopped becoming an issue several years ago.

    • The governing body went against its own rules of three years good acceptable uefa compliant accounts to let Sevco in.

      People need sacked over that.

  15. What’s sad is stewart Regan allowed Mr King control knowing he had been found guilty of tax fraud .
He was also Mr Murray’s understudy this in itself should have stopped him from getting anywhere near newco
