Oh dear.
The Murty plan is perhaps scuppered.
It had appeared that the tantalising prize of three victories in a row was within grasp for the Engine Room Subsidiary.
Ah well…
The possibility that The People are now suffering from end of season affective disorder is rather high right now.
Off the field, it isn’t any better.
The directors who had been writing the cheques are now maxed out and they have told that to their Blue Room brethren.
Mr David Cunningham King has promised to keep the lights on via the recently published accounts of Rangers International Football Club (RIFC).
Of course, those Take Over Panel chaps could get a result in the Court of Session.
Should that come to pass then the RIFC accounts will look rather out of date.
If the Clyde Super Scoreboard phone in last night was representative then I think we can now safely conclude that The People are revolting.
The consensus of the match reports was that as soon as the first goal was scored just after half-time it was rather apparent that Murty’s men had chucked it.
Moreover, it would seem that the supporters didn’t step up either.
The Dunkirk Spirit was soon in evidence when, with 11 minutes left, Darren Lyon to beat Foderingham to put the game beyond Sevco.
That second goal for the away team was the signal for most of the 48,892 fans to leave the stadium that John Brown played for.
If a lack of moral fibre was on display from the home crowd and the Sevco players then that certainly could not be said about a special guest at Ibrox yesterday.
Motor neurone disease (MND) is an appalling illness.
It is a slow death sentence.
If a disease could have a personality then MND is an evil, pitiless bastard.
MND took the life of Jimmy Johnstone and as it stands there is no known cure.
Fernando Ricksen has also been struck down by this cruel sickness.
“Dignity” is a term that is regularly misused at Ibrox, but the Dutchman has it in spades.

He is a truly courageous person.
I wish him well.

Desperately sad to see footage of Fernando Ricksen on Saturday.
And so poignant to see the reception that giant of a man Doddie Weir received at Murrayfield, knowing full well what is to come for him & his family too.
We really must find the money to fund research to fight back against this most destructive of illnesses.
They are indeed, horrible people, as you say, revolting
The Mordor hordes are lacking in “ intestinal fortitude.”
Unlike Mr. Ricksen, Good Luck to him!
Sad to see Fernando Ricksen ravaged by MND, shows you how horrific the disease is. Dignity and courage are definately two words that apply to the way he’s dealing with it all. 64 unbeaten. It’s great being a Tim.
My cousin Kevin Dawson, a noted Irish journalist, finally lost his fight with MND a week ago. It was heart breaking to see a man who had shown the moral courage to go and speak with the Birmingham 6 when they were considered to be a lost cause end up with that awful illness as his last struggle.
My best pal, of 53 years, died 11 months ago only 18 months after being diagnosed with MND. It is an awful disease and I can only hope Mr Ricksen and his family all strength for the future.
Hi Phil,
I was diagnosed with MND five years ago. I am one of the “fortunate” ones who has managed to get through the two year mark.
Thank you for highlighting Fernando in your piece as he like all the other MND sufferers
need the awareness of the disease raised.
Good also to see that it unites us all.
Said police bigot in a job responsible for protecting children.
It’s then made known that she openly makes jokes about the abuse of children.
In any other country she would have been sacked.
In some countries she’d’ve been lynched.
I see that their board is sticking with Murty. A .most excellent choice
I don’t think even Krishnamurti could help them noo.
A measure of the severity of a crisis is the time horizon that people look to for signs of change (aka hope). When you get down to 3IAR for the stand in manager being a turning point – a serial stand in manager who has been disrepescted and over looked before as a permanent manager – then you know the crisis will not last much longer – you’re only one step short of laying down your motorbike, curling in a ball and thinking, as the tarmac shreds your leathers, “shit this is really gonna hurt, wonder if I’ll ever ride agian.”
Today, I’ll mostly be singing “Where Have All The Good Times Gone?” by the Kinks
Don’t you know, Dave King is “A Well Respected Man”?
And what about his wife, Lola ..?
Sorry, I always get that wrong, I meant Ladina, Ladina, there’s always some Lad In A King …
Yes indeed Phil the peeple are truly revolting.
The very fact that they are vocally calling out menny killer for his showing yesterday shows that even he is now a target for criticism. There are a few examples of it CNNow,that to the impartial observer, are well, funny, but I’m dwelling on the schadenfreudian side too much.Yesterdays result will have repercussions of some description, although I don’t think His Exceptionally Excellent McMurty has to fear for his position, just yet.
MND is a horrible affliction and my heart goes out to Everyone who has had personal/family dealings with this debilitating disease.
Thanks for the update.?
I see alves wasn’t playing again.
Didn’t some clever chap from north of the Limpopo predict this?
Ate the trying to save on appearance fees.. I’d say win bonuses too, but don’t like taking the pi££
I turned down the Sevco job. It’s far too hot for me.
What a shame that the Great Cut-Price Hope couldn’t make it three wins in a row yesterday. Still, I am sure the board has a cunning plan… Which no doubt involves taking a LOOOONG time to…err…get the ‘right man’ in.
[If I may…] I think Derek Johnstone has the definitive perspective on this matter… https://theclumpany.wordpress.com/2017/11/18/derek-johnstone-caveman/
Personally I’ve always found “The People” revolting.
With respect Paddy I think you should have another look at your article, cheers John
Hi John,
Please fill me in
Awful result.
Murty should have won that game standing on his head. Now, if only there were some kind of image of ‘gif’ to illustrate this point …
‘Awful result’ ?!
Are you a Billy, Aido?
Btw, there’s a message for you on the previous thread.
Don’t usually comment on here but my best wishes to Ricksen; terrible disease
Lordo…too true…
I have been close to two individuals who have succumbed to this appalling disease…
It certainly puts all this Sevco nonsense, comedy gold as it may be, into perspective.
I do not know the guy but my thoughts are with him and his family.
My first thought yesterday was ,well that’s it finito for the murty fella. Then on reflection I don’t really care who they get ,it wont alter out circumstances a jot. Always happy to see them get fkd ,regardless.
I will always remember Ricksen for that ” rabbit caught in the headlights ” expression he had when Celtic humped them of the park and Bobby Petta absolutely destroyed him.
I have never seen anyone so glad to be subbed than he was that day ,he had the thousand yard stare as he went off. They have a popular t-shirt in Vegas that says “What Happened ” he could have been wearing one that day.
Having said that I am genuinely sorry to see the man suffer so ,you wouldn’t wish such a terrible illness on anyone. I wish him and his all the best.
I saw wee Jinky when he was very debilitated ,a tragic end for such a vital man.
When I used to go to the game with my Da ,when I was a boy ,I always used to ask him if wee Jinky was playing, total legend on and off the park. Be lucky
The 6-2 game was one of my three or four best days as an adult Celtic supporter – I was still at school in 1967. But, poor old Ricksen was in a daze from the instant he crashed into Bobby Petta in the first couple of minutes. This is why he was missing in action for the first two Celtic goals – Sutton and Petrov – from corners, and why he was taken off, far too late, by the casual Rangers bench – manager and trainers.
Phil please check out the Daily Record’s lead story this Sunday, it manages to beggar belief even more so than usual. More than ever they have decided to plant their rampantly anti Irish, Catholic and Celtic Flag squarely for all to see. I have complained to the Independant Press Standards Organisation and would encourage everyone to do so. The incident reported should have proved a watershed moment for both Police Scotland and Scottish Society as a whole instead we have our largest newspaper actively denigrating religious bigotry.
This article is clearly discriminatory towards members of the Catholic religion and completely denigrates anti Catholic/ religious bigotry and goes as far as to actively condone it. It also suggests that the bigotry/discrimination is totally acceptable because of said officer known allegiance to a certain football team. It is also highly discriminatory when it suggests that the said officers service record is more important than the form of religious bigotry she has indulged in and should therefore lead to some kind of softer treatment being offered. It also, despite stating that the victim of the abuse was subject to being transferred simply for reporting the senior officer, makes to attempt to discuss how this action could be viewed as unfair/ discriminatory which for me further highlights the biased/ discriminatory anti catholic apologist content of said article.
Actually, Paddy, the officer wasn’t moved for reporting the senior officer he was moved because he faced more hassle from some of his colleagues. Which makes you wonder if other officers have been charged.
Exactly Robert, my mistake on that I meant to add the subsequent backlash from reporting the officer. The whole situation is a joke. I honestly can’t believe they put this article to print. It is also difficult why in the interests of accuracy they didn’t manage to report that she referred to the cake as “fenian” and what her exact remarks where, given that she is not in any way denying she made the statements.
Well said ??
Get a life Paddy.
Uncle Meaty you sound like one of The People. I think this is a classic case of it’s you not me bro ✌️
‘Uncle Meat’, you don’t happen to be related to ‘TED ER Meatballs’ aka Keef Jackson, or even our own Repetitively Stress Disordered ‘TED’ from upstairs with his ‘excellently appointed’ Graeme Murty fixation, are you ..?
It IS you, isn’t it, Jacko?
You’re really not very good at this writing lark at all, are you, you can’t even hide your identity when you’re anonymous! 😀
I too read that article and was totally disgusted at the mere paragraph that the officer that complained had also “suffered” can you imagine the outcry if it was in role reversal .
Ps real shame Fernando Ricksen
Roll on ten
Best wishes to Fernando Ricksen.
Paddy, good point well raised.
I’d like to point out that on appeal the punishment could be increased. She could be dismissed from the service.
I expected her to be dismissed. It’s gross misconduct and deserves instant dismissal. It would happen in any other career. Clearly Police Scotland were trying to look after her and save her livelihood. Is she an Eastern Star Freemason?
Clearly she should never have been promoted to such a responsible position. Constables cannot behave like that.
No one deserved that tirade on their birthday celebration.
If it was the N word against a black man or a slur against a Jew or Asian she would be sacked.
Women complain of men being abusive in the work place, here we have a female caught bang to rights. If it was a man being bigoted to a woman he’d be sacked and rag dolled in the press.
The DR is desperately trying to pretend to be a powerful influencer (for Freemason agendas). Football Managers, Chairmen, politicians don’t give a hoot what they print now. If they attack someone twice or more it’s malicious. Their circulation among scotland’s 6 million citizens is negligible.
Decent people shouldn’t buy the DR. Any CFC supporter who does is foolish beyond belief.
