Paying for Pedro

I’m told that last night Mr David Cunningham King wanted to urgently re-assess the contractual situation of Senhor Caixinha.

In short he wanted him canned.

However, wiser heads within the Sevco High Command helpfully pointed out  to the South African based entrepreneur that the Portuguese genius and his background team were on three year deals.

Mr King was left in no doubt that if he wanted Senhor Caixinha out then he would have to pay for it himself.

Consequently, I think Pedro is safe for now.

Although I am told that the Sevco High Command may review his position after the first Glasgow Derby match in the new season.

  1. When Lance Armstrong admitted cheating, we all know that his TDF wins were removed from the records. Also his sponsor US Mail sought to get their sponsorship money back from him but I don’t know if they ever did. There may have been other legal actions against him.

Is there not a case here for Rangers’ sponsors during the EBT years to feel that their brand has been tarnished by this clubs malpractice?
It would be great if some authoritative journalist in Donegal could ask them and publish their responses.

Justice must be done and be seen to be done.

  2. Every game they played where at least one player they fielded was paid through an EBT should be awarded as a 3-0 victory to their opposition, it’s the UEFA way.

  3. Stripping titles isn’t really the point though is it.
For each misdeed there should be a consequence.
    Improperly registered player, 3-0 loss.
Each game that Rangers played in with an irregularly registered player should be shown in the record as a 3-0 defeat, leagues and other trophies adjusted and let the cards fall where they will.

    Consequences.

Them’s the rules are they not?

  4. Is Keith Jackson still writing that Morelos is the next Suarez?

It was that kind of SMSM raising of expectation of Gullibillies that ultimately leads to fury and anger on inevitable failure.

Pedro is a victim of SMSM poor expectation management of Gullibillies. Pishing up duds as world beaters.

Jackson has not tweeted on the Scottish sports story of the year. The six year awaited EBT cheated titles legal conclusion at the Supreme Court.

Clearly not award winning journalist behaviours.

  6. Strip titles and trophies and leave at that with asterisk,, its not possible to award a cup final to an opponent as that assumes rangers would have got to the final if they had operated legally when they may have been knocked out in earlier rounds.
The same applies for the league, you can only guess at how Aberdeen, Hearts, Dundee utd etc. might have responded to a good victory over a legal rangers team, they might have went on an unbeaten run and even taken some more points off Celtic.

There are too many grey areas for awarding titles elsewhere, but nothing grey in removing them from a team/club/company who won them illegally.

    • 100% correct We do not want their tainted titles There should however be an asterix beside each incorrectly played win eg league/cup games I read the Record has given the idiots a mouthpiece and that they say only Celtic could want their titles No Celtic fans I know want this They want justice-and so should the rest of the Scottish teams !

  7. A big congratulations to you Phil, having kept faithful with the story all these years, and along with a small band of proper bampots kept shining the light on corruption! I’m delighted with the verdict but like many appalled at the reaction of among others; the original establishment crook with a knighthood, his loyal MSM and of course our Administrators, Dumb and Dumber.

Looks like another slog ahead but one I hope fans of all clubs will join, whether that be demos to our own clubs, pitchforks outside Hampdump or just crowdfunding a QC to take the corrupt cabal at the SFA/SPFL to court.

I always thought the *Rangers/Sevco story would make a top notch Business School/MBA Case Study, it contains everything that’s wrong with the business practices of people like SDM but no one seems to want to blame him, funny that.

  8. Oh they cheated alright, aided and abetted by a corrupt organisation and a compliant media. Like everyone who follows this and the other bloggers, who put their heads above the parapet, I clearly remember the the well publicised demise of rangers, in every broadsheet and tabloid.

It’s amazing how they have all changed their position to the same team lie, engine room subsidiary, holding company and football club. As I’ve said before on this forum, cowards one and all( except Alex Thomson).

I totally agree with you on the stripping of titles Phil. We don’t need them or really want them. What we do want,I think, is some form of visible acknowledgment for all their CHEATING titles. A big asterisk * with an explanation, or void them altogether.

I will be very surprised if anything comes of this, as msms and the good old boys will circle the wagons. Nevertheless we shall prevail.

Total respect to you Phil, and all your fellow bloggers ( Paul McC. R.I.P) for keeping the bit between your teeth.

  9. Craig Whyte banned for life from Scottish football.

The lying, cheating ringmaster who introduced the illegal DOS and EBT schemes which has stolen tens of millions from HMRC has been subject to no action, nor criticism, from the SFA/SPFL, none whatsoever.
Mr Whyte, the patsy chosen to take the fall, has walked free from a court of law without his lawyer having to present a case for the defence, such was the paucity of the Crown case.
Despite crashing MIH at a cost of hundreds of millions to the public purse and leaving the pension fund facing a deficit, the lying cheat is still holding on to his knighthood.
Is he untouchable, if so why?

  10. If l may be allowed to point out a wee anomaly from the Daily Ranger over the past 24 hours?
Yesterday they ran a story about the decision and included the statement from David Murray which contained the following…

“The decision will be greeted with dismay by the ordinary creditors of the club, many of which are small businesses, who will now receive a much lower distribution in the liquidation of the club, which occurred during the ownership of Craig Whyte, than may otherwise have been the case.”

In today’s exiting super squirrel version we have the following…

“The decision will be greeted with dismay by ordinary creditors, many of which are small businesses.
“They will now receive a much lower distribution in the liquidation of the club, which occurred during the ownership of Craig Whyte.”
Now can any of you eagle eyed readers out there see what very important factor in the big Oldco/newco non debate they left out there?
Jabbas been a busy man through the night methinks 😉

    • SDM has a brass neck…….never mind the creditors are likely to recipe a smaller distribution, let’s get back to why the creditors were stiffed in the first place.
A Knight of the Realm ran his business into the ground, including Rangers football club, leaving the public purse to pick up the cost.
If that wasn’t enough the pension fund was left facing a deficit and low and behold the profitable parts of the empire ended up in the hands of the Murray family…..what a coincidence.
The patsy walked free of all charges which most definitely was not part of the plan. As the case unfolded in the High Court the chaos and mismanagement inside Ibrox was laid bare.
There’s no doubt the wrong man was in the dock but no surprise to see the establishment looking after their own.
Still not a word of criticism from Regan or Doncaster towards SDM it’s as if he’s untouchable.

  11. phil, i can’t agree with you.
rangers cheated and the titles should be awarded to celtic.
in the future if sevco believe the only way to stop celtic winning the league is by cheating then this what they will do because according to you the title will be stripped from sevco but will not be awarded to celtic. celtic’s winning run will be ended.

  12. Strip the Titles and award them to Celtic, that is the only satisfactory outcome.

Perhaps we can ‘crowdfund’ Mr D Findlay QC to take up the case as we all know he is very knowledgable on this subject given his recent trial experience.

      • Have to disagree Phil. Those titles belong to us.

We won them fair and square, including ‘helicopter Sunday’.

Remember that we would have gone to Fir Park as champions already had a certain linesman not invented an injury time penalty for the dead club at Tynecastle to win them the game.

I’m not prepared to let lie 10 seasons of football in which I paid thousands of pounds to support my team for less reward just because another team cheated.

What a day they cheated Dundee, Ayr United, Falkirk and Queen of the South out of!

Probably the greatest days in their history.

They at least should have their names instated as cup winners in the history books.

        Reply
        • You can’t award the cups to another club – not possible. Take 2008, when Rangers beat Queens in the cup final – they knocked out Hibs (after a replay) Partick (after a replay) and St Johnstone (after extra time) on their way to Hampden. Any of these clubs might have gone on to win the trophy – indeed two of the three have since then.

The league is a different thing – it is either not awarded – as in Seria A in 2004/05, or awarded to the second placed team – as in Serie A in 2005/06.

Both are favourable outcomes although I’m with Phil – just revoke them, don’t re-award them. The players at the time won them fair and square on the pitch so they can keep their medals, it is the club, or ex-club, who lose out.

This will also mean the fifth star above the badge has to go and Linfield overtaking the old club as the most successful club in the world – Real Madrid fans must be pissing themselves.

      • Phil, is it just me or can anyone else hear the wailing and greetings from the EBT recipients as HMRC prepare their final demands, including penalties and interest.
This could signal a major upsurge in business for the Scottish legal profession as the afflicted seek redress from their agents or own solicitors for the advice given to them pre EBT sign up.
Dodds, McCann, Rae, Thompson etc……..don’t give up the day jobs.
Let’s hope that despite Chic Young ‘ s claim that Ogilvie ‘ s EBT would cover the cost of a night out in Glasgow, that the former SFA President has tucked away a sizeable chunk of his £96k, just in case!

      • I agree totally Phil. Justice would be better served by blanking all of the achievements of rangers 1872 from the record books. That way, in the future when people ask why there was no champion for that year, an explanation will be required. That explanation will say that Rangers cheated themselves to death!

        Reply
  13. The Bookie on the Board of the SFA took Celtic fans money for losing titles and paid out to Rangers fans their cheated prizemonies.

He won’t be voting for stripping and correctly awarding cheated titles.

The Supreme Court has de facto just handed them rightfully to Celtic.

The SFA are now trying to cheat Celtic out of the titles again. For the benefit of a pretend Rangers.

He keeps giving us hysterical fits every time he opens his gub. Long may it continue.

The titles are clearly legally indefensible.

Over 80 players were cheated out of Premier League and Cup win bonuses by Sir David Murray. They should refer to the Players Union. The Players Union cannot side with the cheating players.

    • The Players Union! waste of time! seem to have done very little about how some of their members have been treated at Ibrox over the past 7 years ! Although the Chief Executive being an ex Rangers player might explain their non co-operation!

  16. Phil,

    (1) HBOS and SFA could be “up to their knees ” in this heinous approach by SDM in the tax avoidance years.

    (2) First things first – SDM should give up his title as a man of honor.

    (3) Let the real rangers mean repay what they owe.

The thought of being able to wake up every day which has been the case for some 1800 days approx and know that another laugh at their expense is due tomorrow can’t be normal. Having come through the difficult period in the 90’s I don’t know if I could have dealt with the tricky realisation that our 80’s success was brought about by cheating. There needs to be much more contrition from the baloo masses before we can accept them back! I have been on the red wine in celebration of today’s events, apologies if my comment is in communicable ??????

However I am truly gloating at a cancer that is slowly dying. This cancer as been a malignant one that as been rooted in the West of Scotland for over 140 years, so a cancer that is in remission is always received with jubilation. One I feel is dancing crazily from one direction to another without any control or guidance. This cancer is teetering on the brink of oblivion and I feel Pedro the great is nudging it closer to a full extermination. I truly truly loved the humiliation that Sevco received last night, its supporters are in a blind rage blaming everything from Pedro to us LOL. That’s the 1st part undone on this rabid disease, the second therapy this cancer needs is of the Stripping of titles. A cancer is bad news, however a cheating racist bigoted one is Satan it’s self.

  21. Phil the SFA, like EUFA will not take any action on the decision today as there is no club to take action on.
Just like the fine imposed on White there is no club or no-one to pay it or to sanction.
The old club can keep all the titles as they are dead and everyone knows the story of their demise, it only requires the SFA to come out and state the old incorporated club died and a brand new company/club emerged and had to beg to be given a membership, we cannot punish the new.
Once that is complete then heads should roll ove the cover up in the beginning and anyone still connected in any way to the old and involved removed from association rules football under the regulations fashioned to stamp out breaches of integrity and fair play.

      Reply
    • I get you feelings there but you are wrong!

If the history books continue to show Rainjurz name beside titles for those years…. then the whole set of cheating lies continues. The establishment rely on the combination of inaction and the passage of time to wipe away any the evidence of wrongdoing. Just look at the ‘continuation myth’ – we all know the truth but 5 years and a compliant media has made sure that the books and stats all say its the same club.

NO… I don’t care whether Celtic get awarded titles or not (although the thought of having already done 16 in a row is tempting) but I DO care that the records show an anomaly for those years… either in the form of an absent winners name, asterisk or whatever. Only by having something recorded in that form will the true explanation also be recorded and questions be asked for another 140 years.

Regarding the SFA… and their inaction in this. We know how they operate. The way this can be solved is via the SPFL. League titles at least are their department and if appropriate action is taken it will only weaken the SFAs position anyway.

This thing is gathering impetus already. It needs to be kept moving and needs the fans to make it clear to their respective clubs what is expected of them.
