The great Sevco fire sale

It is important that The People have some fragment to hope to cling onto.

They look across the city at domestically invincible opponents.

Celtic will strengthen and add to a squad that is already in another solar system away from Sevco.

This is an inconvenient truth for The People.

Consequently, they need a comfort blanket soaked in pish.

Therefore, any player who will be brought into Ibrox will be trumpeted by the stenographers as an amazing coup for the Engine Room Subsidiary.

However, players will have to go as well.

What did interest me today was a call I received from agent land.

He told me that he had an extensive list of Sevco players that were all for sale.

I was surprised at some of the names on the list.

It was certainly bigger than the one I had seen in the mainstream.

There was an individual valuation on the list, and this is what they HOPE to get for each player.

However, I have been told by a secondary source that the Holding Company Vehicles will actually accept considerably less for some of the players.

I suppose when you’re a loss making business without a credit line from a bank these things can get difficult.

The term “distressed sale” might be apt in the circumstances.

Sadly, when this is known then prospective buyers tend to pitch low ball figures.

For example, I suspect that a bid of £800k for James Tavernier might not be rebuffed.

Meanwhile, Senhor Alves would like to be put on Bartonesque wages.

Poor Pedro has a tough gig, but perhaps after a nice glass of Portuguese wine, this all seems fine.

  2. This are looking up.

Sevco have signed an almost 36 year old defender.

That’s 2 years older than Joby Barton.

    This will not end well.

  3. Just had a wee swatch at the Serie A table. The bold Bruno’s team finished 11th but shipped more goals than any team above the bottom two. And only marginally fewer than them. Methinks possibly big Bruno is coming here for a nice easy wind down to his career. He should maybe have a wee word with Joey Barton.

  6. Welcome back, Phil. I trust you enjoyed Lisboa? And what a way to end the week by being unbeaten against all British opposition, including the CL games against the billionaires from Manchester City, in a whole season.
Timing is everything. As with the Double in the Centenary Season, and now the Invincitrebles in the week of the 50th anniversary of the Legendary Lions, it’s as if someone is smiling on us from above. Or perhaps Fionn mac Cumhaill has been awakened in his cave …?
