I am grateful to Rugger Guy for providing me with the following piece of scéal.
As I had previously reported the Sevco High Command had told their esteemed Chairman that he was very much on his own apropos the Take Over Panel ruling.
Here is why:
“For reasons explained below, the Executive determined that it was appropriate in the circumstances of this case to impose the obligation to extend a Rule 9 offer upon Mr King alone, and not on those with whom he is alleged to have acted in concert.”
The full details are contained in the website of the takeover panel under website update (paragraph 97).
Now the South African based convicted criminal might be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat with this one.
If he does it will be an act of glib and shameless brilliance.
However, if he doesn’t his Sevco gig looks totally fucked.

Michael Gannon’s piece in the Radar today has got to be one of the best yet.
He reckons that with King at the helm, Sevco no longer look like a comedy club.
I think he’s watching a different movie.
I don’t think the TAB’s report is factually correct. They refer to an “old club” being liquidated. Surely that is wrong.
Re your previous post…
This is from the Herald

I wonder if thier fans have nightmares of raising from thier slumber to find a stranger making them breakfast who claims to be thier recently deceased mother and after presenting them with what only loosley resembles a mothers breakfast demands 12 months dig money in advance.
A chance for big Mike to play a game of cat & mouse with the GASL, should be fun

I understood the Takeover Panel deemed DCK the Principal of the concert party. As such he must make the 20p offer for ALL shares he does not own. ie he must also offer to buy the shares of Letham, Taylor and Park. How funny if one or more of them said “Yes!
He has until a week on Wednesday to produce a prospectus and make the offer.
In the event of him failing to do so it’s not clear to me if the Cold Shoulder would automatically take effect from the following day or if the TP would need to pass down a further judgement. Anyone know?
The original enquiry and appeals took 2 years. Looking at previous cold shoulder hand outs it was at least a year from the dates of the decision, but other sanctions would apply much earlier, i.e. application to disbar as a director and general unofficial cold shouldering from the financial institutions.
NOTHING has happened fast in this saga before so don’t think it will suddenly speed up now.
signing up
The peepol have bought in to Kings pish about a bankrupt Sevco participating in the next Europa League competition….mighty stuff.Doncaster and Regan will need to get the old measuring tape out and order in some steel security roller shutters because the klan will be a calling.
Won’t happen. The Dynamic Duo are already loosening up, so when the time comes, no backs will be put out in thier haste to bend over.
All very very likely..
But the sad truth is that the ‘feel-good pish’ and sevco-spin imminent in the next couple of weeks will be successful in its intended purpose.
‘The People’ will believe, ‘The People’ will see their wee club as a ‘challenger’… And ‘The People’ will buy season tickets. They will dream of buying that mythical ‘Full Orange Kit’ as the ‘Going for 55’ mantra is brazenly wheeled out for another season.
Glib and shameless Mr King surely is… But he certainly knows how to play ‘The People’ and have them dancing to the tune of his flute.
I applaud the meliflous elegance of the final sentence of your piece. I look forward to the coming weeks with the childlike optimism of one who has been promised a train set for Christmas
