A tense conclave discusses Dave

I understand that there was an important meeting yesterday within Planet Sevco.

It was a Quintessentially British conclave, dignified in every aspect.

The gathering was attended by several members of the Sevco High Command, and they discussed their esteemed Chairman Mr David Cunningham King.

My information is that an inter-galactic PR guru tried to squeeze into the room, but he was rebuffed.

I think it is fair to say that they wouldn’t be heartbroken if Mr King stepped down now.

Moreover, if the South African based entrepreneur was followed out of the Blue Room Door by Mr Blair and Mr Gilligan, then these Sevco chaps could cope with their loss.

These dignified fellows agreed yesterday that they would not meet with Mr King on a one-to-one basis.

Moreover, all meetings with him are to be minuted and an electronic record kept of the proceedings.

For the avoidance of doubt, these Sevco chaps were all agreed that they would not provide Mr King with the monies for the share offer.

I think it is fair to say that the time for “over-investing” has finally arrived.

This week could be interesting…

  1. Hi Phil

You sneeky wee bugger how do you do it (wouldn’t they like to know ). Now the others are asking for their meetings with His Glibness to be minuted and electronically recorded I wonder where they got that idea from somewhere south of the limpopo me thinks. When the food runs out cannibalism may look attractive to some.

  2. Love your page Phil. Whilst I understand that King has to offer 20p to the shareholders, due to the In Concert ruling. If no one sells is the matter closed? Excuse my ignorance Thx

    • I think basically yes, it closes the book on that issue, but it will have cost King millions in a prospectus he didn’t need and some people may be tempted to cash in, especially those like super Ally who got their shares for 1p. If he doesn’t get 50% then he can’t bid for the shares again for at least 6 moths or maybe 12.

The complication is if he doesn’t get 50%, along with the 34% the concert party already have, I think he won’t have to pay for the shares as he can make the offer conditional on getting 50%. More than 50% it becomes unconditional and he has to buy all the shares offered to him.

  3. It is said that Nero fiddled while Rome burned… it surely cannot be too long before we hear the musical tones of a violin concerto in the Govan area?

  4. Hi Phil, Your new page is fabulous, What i would like to ask is when the European Football Licence for the Scottish clubs to play in Europe in season 2017/18.
If Sevco receive one would it be up to the team who does not get one to appeal or does EUFA have a say.

  5. Loving the new page Phil.
Also loving the latest snippets re: Sevco.
I still can’t understand why serious, intelligent and highly successful, legitimate business men would ever get themselves involved with such a shambolic business model.
They must know that no one outside the crumbling walls of the Stadium of Indignity will ever swallow the lie that Rangers exist.
The media believe they have a job to do in supporting the lie. All they’ve done is heap ridicule on their own industry resulting in a backlash from a diminishing customer base.
It’s difficult to quantify the enormous debt of gratitude we owe yourself and several others for bringing us true insights into what’s really happening.
Whether Sevco die or survive in some form, they will forever be in my eyes, absolutely irrelevant and just another team.
There is no Rangers, I’m delighted to have witnessed their death. Anything which tries to replace them will never be regarded as Rangers, but rather, just a pretty pointless tribute act.
Back to the Board……perhaps I’ve got the “intelligent” bit wrong.
    Keep up the good work.

  6. Add in the spat thats going on around the resignation of 3 Club 1872 directors.

It would appear that many of the monthly contributors have lost faith in the organisation and will be moved to cancel their direct debits.
Apparently their action has been prompted by the behaviour of one of their fellow elected directors.
In addition some of the membership appear to have opened their eyes to the conflict of interest that James Blair brings to the table, given his roles with both Club 1872 and the football club.

  7. Hi Phil,

    Interesting indeed.

King has to go but how the new club and the SMSM tart it up will be intriguing.Kings ostracization has been a long time coming and well documented by yourself Phil and maybe now Sevconians will admit you once again have been right all along. The EBT participants awaiting brown envelopes in the not too distant future must be a source of vindication and pride also.Six titles in a row all but secured under the stewardship of a much respected professional manager that will ensure we progress as a club and achieve 10 in a row is nothing short of brilliant.I hope Celtic fans do not get bored of winning or ever think we need a strong Sevco. If we remain unbeaten this year it will be remarkable and should be lauded for the tremendous accomplishment it would be 50 years on from the Lions.

    Thanks Phil.

  8. Clearly various outlets and commentators refer to old RFC by its name Rangers and Charles Green’s Sevco Scotland, latterly TRFC, as Rangers.

Same term, two different entities in law.

This is deliberate confusion to make people think it’s the same Rangers but it’s not. It’s two different Rangers legally.

    Rangers weren’t relegated (RFC)

Rangers entered a contract to enter SFL3 (Sevco Scotland, TRFC, a different Rangers).

Allowing the new club to call itself Rangers when it was initially listed in the SFL as ‘The Rangers’ is squarely the SFAs fault.

    • The problem I see is every club in Scotland is up to it’s neck in the the five way agreement and will do nothing about sevco, trifc, trfc or what ever they are called or the way that the SFA/SPFL run or should that be ruin Scottish football.

    • Every time you see Rangers in a sentence or hear it from someone you have to work out which Rangers is being mentioned.

      It’s all rather ridiculous.

      Full of ridicule.

  9. Phil still no word on Glasgow council and the roof repairs. I seem to recall the council asked for information. Was this finally given? Will building control step in?
