Pesky foreigners.

The quintessentially British football club may be about to be undone by England’s oldest ally.

Any hopes by the Scottish football establishment that the second contract scandal at Rangers can be kept “in lodge” could be about to be scuppered by a Portuguese man o’ war.

I am informed that sources very close to FC Porto are monitoring this story with great interest.

They are, I am told, fully aware that the man with the second contract in the Scottish Sun recently is Fernando Ricksen.

The Dutchman played in both matches in 2005 between Rangers and the Portuguese club.

The Ibrox men triumphed and progressed into the last 16 of the Champion’s League.

If it proven that Rangers fielded an ineligible player in these games against  FC Porto under Co Adriaanese then there is definitely a case to answer.

My Portuguese colleague is confident that the club will act if the second contract allegations against Rangers are proven.

Developing story.
