The week end of the Old Firm cup tie earlier this month  was meant to see all the SFA top referees out in Spain for their bonding get together thingy.

Last year it was a happy gathering near Marbella with Hugh Dallas in charge of his officials.

The Away End podcast

The Away End was the brainchild of a group of journalism students two years ago. Initially planned as a print magazine, it has developed more as an online production, looking to evolve with the changing world of new media; producing online magazines and supplements, podcasts, videos, and soon to be exclusive documentaries.

Dave King, the man who wants to own Rangers FC, hasn’t been having it all his own way recently.

In October last year the judgement of North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria stated that King was a “glib and shameless liar.”

Last week the company “Ben Nevis” dropped their appeal against the contention by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) that the company and Dave King were, effectively, one and the same.

I recently had a useful chat with a senior Scottish sports journalist in the media centre at the AVIVA stadium. We were both there for the Carling Cup.
