It’s always a fine day here when I can see over to Oileán Thoraí, so I won’t stay long here as I should already be on the bóithrín.
Like any well-run household, there are rules here.
The bean chéile has gently pointed out that my booming voice isn’t welcome as I shout and roar during a Celtic match.
Noted a grá.
Noted…
Hence, I greeted THAT overhead kick yesterday entirely through the medium of mime.

My initial reaction was very similar to Arnie Engels!
There is something to be said for having ridiculous rivals.
The featured image is hubris Exhibit A.
When reality lands, they have quite a distance to fall.

Bless him…

Today, the chat among the Ibrox classes is all about the American owners who just HAVE to spend big in the summer.
This is where the disconnect is the most pronounced.
It’s true that the Stateside guys decided in January, quite rightly, to gamble on guaranteed Champions League money via a title win.
It was the smart move.

Now that’s gone.
Consequently, the budget that was “stretched” during the last transfer window will have to be cut.
Remember, dear reader, with those guys safely concealed in the Delaware Triangle, it’s all about the Dollars.
Always the Dollars.
It has been suggested that the atmosphere at Ibrox on Wednesday will be “toxic”.
No change there then…
Yesterday, O’Neill’s men came out swinging.

His team landed a knockout blow to the snarling nativists in the controlled paddock below Police Control in Paradise.
In the second half, Sevco didn’t lay a glove on us.
Celtic now has two games to win in order to retain their title.
It won’t be easy, and we respect our opponents.
For a club created by immigrants in a hostile environment, hubris isn’t a good fit.
Celtic were formed in the face of discrimination and oppression.
In fact, if Andrew Cavenagh looks carefully, he might recognise his own people on the green side of the city.
Ok, I’m away for a dander.
I’m blessed to have my own corner of Cloich Cheann Fhaola.
It’s a day for being happy.

Nothing beats the feeling of a good hunskelping. Great fight and determination from the Celts after going a goal down. If only Offaly had won the hurling it’d have been the perfect Sunday.
Couldn’t remember the specifics, so had to just ask the AI. Seems mid April was the date for existing shareholders to sign up for this summers share issue. Good that they did that then, than for decisions to have to be made now with the end of season woe in front of mind.
Will be interesting to see how its used. Will they use it to pay off the January spend? Given those payments would be spread over multiple years, its likely that only consume a relatively small portion. So whats the plan for the rest? Presumably the payoff to Danny and friends is pretty small since they were only there for less than a season.
Since they’re moving (have moved?) everything to Delaware anyway, presumably underwriting the share issue and increasing their ownership percentage brings little to no further advantage. So the more existing shareholders that sign up, reduces the amount that the new owners need to invest, and they can keep rolling out further share issues on a regular basis as a means of reducing their overall investment.
If I remember correctly, Rohl initially turned them down due to details of ” early termination” .
I assumed severance package was then altered to Danny’s liking.
Like a number of fellow Celtic fans, I spent most of the week fearing the worst re Sundays Glasgow Derby. Not that I think they’re a good side, I mean Celtic have not been great this season but the rangers are honking.
No, I fretted because I knew that they would like nothing better than to come to Celtic Park, and derail our season. So, how enjoyable it was to firstly, pump them 3-1.
Secondly put the final nail in the coffin of their season, and thirdly, consign them to a third place finish, with all the monetary implications of that.
All of that and Maeda’s wonder goal was the icing on the cake. Hopefully Martin and the Bhoys go on to win the double, but you know what. Yesterday will stay with me for the rest of my life no matter what happens between now and the end of the season. Hopefully the club gets its act together going forward anyway HH
You should have watched it in Dixon’s You could have shouted to your hearts content
Visited Toraigh many years ago mo chara. Happy days of summer bliss.
Hope you are keeping well.
Regards from Roscommon.
There won’t be a hostile environment at Ibrox on Wednesday, there won’t be anybody there!!!
Easy win for Rangers as the empty stadium will remind them of their Covid success.
When Danny gets sacked will they say he’s a ” well fired Rohl “.
