Tomorrow, the Ibrox klanbase will be back in the stadium John Brown played for.
Since the league game a week ago, I’ve spoken to several people who were there to watch the score draw.
When Sevco scored the second goal, one source told me that the eye test suggested more than 30,000 quintessentially British voices were extolling the exploits of the Glasgow street gang led by Billy Fullerton.
What is noteworthy is that this racist performance art hasn’t been a story in the mainstream this week.
Fullerton was a self-identifying fascist and member of the Ku Klux Klan who led a group numbering around 800 at its height.
His men terrorised Glasgow’s Irish Catholic community in the inter-war years.
They also did some patriotic work for King and Country during the General Strike of 1926.
This included slashing shop stewards.
For this heroism, some members of the Billy Boys received commendation certificates from the Secretary of State for Scotland.
Consider this, dear reader: will there be any other football stadium in Britain tomorrow celebrating such a character as Billy Fullerton?
I’m told that the image of Daniel Day-Lewis as Bill Cutting has reached the American owners.

Although the deployment of Scorsese’s creation was meant as a clever workaround to evade UEFA sanctions in August 2023, it might end up being a Hollywood own goal Stateside.
Of course, one thing that Sevco’s new owners can rely on is the obedient silence of the Stenography Corps apropos the racism of the Ibrox klanbase.

Should read a tone, not a time, that is threatening
Hi Phil
I don’t understand why UEFA do not see this as anti Catholic and a time that is threatening ,all they have to do is read the words
All that is missing is the white cloaks and hoods. Surely, the American owners did due diligence, and would have seen that they were buying into the ancestors of the KKK.
Your absolutely spot on regarding the vile and ILLEGAL content of the songs being sung by the ibrox fanbase, every body and their dog is well aware of what’s coming, what’s more concerning to me is, our board can blithely ban the most vocal of Celtic support yet, seem to have no issue with opening Celtic parks door to these people, tbh, it’s beyond belief .
The klan were singing about the billy boys before kick off never mind when the game was underway.. their club and the SFA won’t utter a word about it. Nothing to see here.
… And the continued silence of the Celtic PLC board. That is the biggest concern to me, why are they not fighting the corner of Celtic (or at least that of their customer base?)
Some great points there Phil. I just wish someone would do an article on the current row between the board and the GB.
I would love the GB to take legal advice as regards the ongoing row with the board .
I’m quite sure after taking advice they’ll find they have grounds to sue the arse off those charlatans in the boardroom.
