Why the good guys in Scotland still need gallant allies in Europe

Oh dear, this is somewhat awkward for the Sevco High Command.

Indeed, to use their own words, “frankly embarrassing.”

Here is the whole thing from Statement O’clock today, for posterity, just in case it ever goes offline.

The UEFA match delegate was Mr. Targo Kaldoja of Estonia.

It might be safe to assume that he is unaware of the cultural references within that favourite anthem of the Ibrox klanbase, “The Billy Boys”.

One can only wonder what his final report would been like had he known that they were singing about a street gang led by a self-proclaimed fascist and member of the Ku Klux Klan.

The problem with the Everyone Anyone PR campaign is that it ultimately conflicts with the core belief system of the Ibrox klanbase:

nativist hostility towards the  Catholic Irish Untermenschen.

This hatred had become one of the central organising principles of Scottish society by the Edwardian era.

In many ways, the stadium that John Brown played for is one of the few remaining places to hear what was mainstream in Fair Caledonia a century ago.

Of course, tackling this herrenvolk worldview should be a core priority of the local Fourth Estate in Scotland.

However, when I consider their attitude to the anti-Irish racism at Ibrox since the Famine Song controversy in 2008-9, then “frankly embarrassing” is a fair summation.

  1. They do like a wee statement over there. Imagine the drop in attendances if the Govan loyal and the likes were to actually disassociate themselves from the latest version of the all embracing politically correct rangers.

It’s never going to happen. The religious bigotry and rascism embedded within their fanbase got a good old public airing once again at Celtic Park on Sunday. It’s part of the Kulture over there. They’re stuck with them and no amount of strongly worded statements will change that. Which is bad news for the rest of scottish fitba

  2. My first though was ‘they are desperate to sell to USA folks’.
What I cant understand is, why are USA investors associating themselves with such a backwards, reactionary organisation ?

  3. “Keep woke foreign ideologies out – defend Europe.”

The Ibrox Imbeciles outdo themselves yet again, as Europhiles is not the first thought that springs to mind regarding them.

Although not an adherent myself, Catholicism is a major component of European identity for a significant number of its people, although obviously not The People.

The Undead have as many brain cells as the un-Woke of the Cessnock cesspit.

  4. Perhaps this is to appease the new owners.
For a study in cognitive dissonance, get the popcorn ready for when hordes find out that their new owners are one of the most prominent Catholic families in America! LOL

  5. “For the avoidance of doubt….Rangers is not the club for you”
A ‘ Gerald Ratner’ moment, if ever there was one!
99.9% of the fan base would have to disassociate themselves from the club.

  7. If UEFA hadn’t got involved this latest statement would not have been forthcoming.

Are they trying to appease the incoming owners?
