Philippe the unsackable?

It wasn’t such a good sabbath for those who worship Planet Fitba’s supremacist franchise.

As always, it is the hope that gets them.

The anticipation of being only three points behind by the close of play at Rugby Park ended up at six.

A sizeable chunk of the Ibrox klanbase appears to have fallen out of love with their glabrous gaffer.

Oh, dear…

In the past, the Brethren in the Blue Room have shown that they are sensitive to pushback from the stands.

Once more, at the basket of assets, we have to follow follow the money.

Last year, Mickey B was cheap as chips to sack.

Consequently,  he was shown the door without any problem.

However, as reported here before, dear Philippe is being remunerated to a similar level as Mr Giovanni.

Moreover, as shown in the featured image, the bloviating Belgian’s new contract has provided him with some security.

My understanding is that to sack him today would entail paying him the equivalent of two and a half years’ salary.

I believe that it would be difficult for the Sevco High Command to access such a quantum without major pain elsewhere in the organisation.

It would also scupper any recruitment attempts in January.

I would highly recommend this quintessentially British output from the Sevco Review yesterday.

It is quite the thing when Neil Francis Lennon’s tactical nous and Ange Postecoglou’s belief in relentless pressing are proffered as solutions to Sevco’s current malaise!

Nice Jonny McFarlane, bless him,  states that Celtic should not be so dominant in the league.

Well, that’s the denial part.

This is not a contest of financial equals.

Celtic starts every season with an approximate £15m advantage, a bigger stadium, more season tickets, and better commercial deals.

Being simply the second best thing is their place in the natural order of things post-2012.

Some of them will eventually get used to it, hoping for an occasional moonbeam.

Others will just Do Walking Away.

Either works for this Fenian.

Have a great week!

  2. I suppose the longer sevco remains CEO-less, [4 months and counting],

the longer Clement remains in post?

This season looks like mainly a write-off for the ibrox club anyway?

Makes sense – and cheaper – to keep Clement for the rest of the season,

    at least…if possible?

Which half-decent manager would come anywhere near ibrox,

to manage a squad rebuild – but without any transfer budget?

Now, sevco has the Tangerines breathing down their neck…! 🙂

[And when are those abysmal, RIFC Accounts going to make an appearance?]

  3. They’ll need to sell Mega confetti to get rid of Phillipe.
He played a binder with that new contract after soothing the bears for the board with his speeches. Shafted by the top brass again. Lovelly.

  4. I also never watch them, however I watched this game as I I had a feeling ( the surface, the weather Kilmarnock desperate for points) .
Really glad that the winning goal was late on, as it produced less time for officials to affect result.

  5. We know R2ngers cant afford to sack him.
The klan now realise they cant afford to keep him.
Maybe, he’ ll be ” Warburtoned”.

Imagine Alex Rae in charge v ManU Spurs etc…lol.

  7. Post-match banter in the studio was hilarious. Boydy began to develop a very noticeable twitch and it got worse as Chris Sutton wound him up even more, finishing with “you must be very pleased that Killie won though?” Brilliant.

  8. The look on their wee faces behind the goal at full time was a joy to behold! All that pain and disappointment cheered me up no end, then Tav and Co went over to wave to them, just to rub it in a bit more! Sevco really are value for money🤣🤣🤣

  9. What a joy it was when we watched this game & i dont ever watch Sevco as i prefer to watch professsional not juniors but I think they & their gullabel fans should accept the fact they are not Rangers anymore as they ceased to exist in 2012 & start to build from the bottom up with no big names players & managers ,then they would be looked upon by fans of all other clubs favourable
