These are trying times for the Sevco High Command.
I’m told that there was an emergency meeting called for yesterday.
The reason for this dignified conclave was to address the current financial situation.
Until now, the extent of the problem has only been known to the Transcendental Chairman, his Stateside consigliere and another quintessentially British colleague.
Sadly, that executive trio had some bad news to share with the rest of the brethren.
First off, the final cost of the Copland shit show will be multiple amounts of the original refurbishment budget.
Dear reader that doesn’t sound much like a “delay in a materials shipment from Asia” to me.
Unfortunately, the administrators of Elite Sports don’t seem to be in the mood to be amenable.
They want the full amount and nothing less.
Then, there are the contractual issues with vendors at Hampden.
No doubt the mood was sombre when it was agreed that there would be no more soft loans and no options were off the table.
It remains to be seen just how wobbly the Sevco Jenga tower is and whether or not that big crane at Ibrox can hold it up!
One wonders how dear Philippe feels about going into season 2024-25 with a squad that has been depleted by an austerity drive.
So much for “the big house , must stay open “
All we need to do is win one trophy and they collapse like a pack of Cards: D King
The SFA should insist on upfront payment…..Sevco look to be a credit risk
I remember in 1 of your articles pre sevco you wrote how a crisis isn’t just 1 problem but several that come at same time de javu
Celtic must not give them tickets for 1st Sep. They will not let us into Ibrox in January
They might not be able to let their own fans into iBrox in January, let alone ours!
Yes, Celtic have great big Dane in goal while The Rangers (est 2012)!have a great big Crane in goal.
This may be the the first season in a while that The Rangers (est 2012) don’t win the close season cup!
Maybe the crane will be the only lift they will have this season
It’s seems there may be rush on for that most enjoyable of delicacies, jelly and ice cream
I’ve been stockpiling mine since the crane stood still.
I think the national stadium may be at risk of being renamed as Scamden Park.
Phil, you’re a terrible man torturing those poor folk, keep it up. Hail, hail.
I wonder who will pay for the turnstiles to be updated to accept the season tickets as well,
You bring up a very good point here. If – and it’s a big if – the Hampden system can somehow be “mapped” to accept the Ibrox season tickets, I can’t see any way that can be accomplished other than by an onerous and costly manual reprogramming exercise.
