Slán abhaile Mickey B

The official announcement that Michael Beale is no longer Sevco’s manager will not have surprised my readers.

My contemporaneous account of the dignified machinations in the Blue Room was published yesterday at 16:59.

You can read it here.

My thanks to Yogi Junior for acknowledging the veracity of my reporting.

As one would expect, the official statement exuded unsurpassed dignity.

The interim team is undoubtedly imbued with the correct credentials.

Messrs Davis and Rae, in particular, are a reminder of happier times for the Ibrox klanbase of the glory days of EBTs and indemnifying side letters.

Watching the putative, “quintessentially British club” go through managers the way that the Brits dispose of their Prime Ministers is highly amusing for this Fenian.

Lettuce Pray.

I admit that I will miss the Cockney Caixinha, especially in pressers.

He was capable of some genuine David Brent quality in his endless bloviating.

Now, for an inconvenient fact.

Steven Davis, MBE, has never managed a football team.

Undoubtedly, the Stenography Corps will do its best to get Operation Soothe back on track.

After all, it’s what their dwindling demographic requires of them.

Let fun commence!

  1. Did Davis not do walking away when the old Rangers plunged into liquidation to sign a lucrative contract with Southampton. That doesn’t look very staunch to me.

  2. Similarly when slippy came in he needed someone with a Euro license to manage, I belive McAlllister covered that base. If I recall correclty Gerard failed the written exam at least once.
Be interesting to see how long this management team are in play.
I’d put a wager on Beale’s severance deal hitting the courts.

  3. It justh gets better and better!! Rangers News has thrown its weight behind McInnes as a Mickey B replacement. Basically their logic is very simple. Knocking us out of the League Cup was a better result than Mickey B has managed against us in his entire time at Ibrox. They’re also saying, “He knocked us back in 2018, but we’re in a much better place now, and he knows that he won’t get a third chance.”

  5. A snooker star from yesteryear takes the reins at Sevco…..Will he pot the green.?

Snookered…………….Oh wait it’s the EBT recipient with a subbuteo licence….

  6. I was looking at some Rangers sites earlier, to see who the bears want as a new permanent manager now that Del Boy has left the building.
The ex manager of Brighton and Hove Albion and a Chelsea has some staunch advocates but I’m assuming that just as the old lot couldn’t afford to pay the face painter this crew definitely won’t have enough cash to pay a Potter.

  7. Does Davis or A Rae have a Euro license, maybe why the latter has been drafted in.
Really surprised Bennet and Bisgrove did not appoint themselves as new management team.
Between them they have taken over responsibility for every job vacated at board level.

  8. Does a manager not need coaching qualifications to manage a team both in the spfl and the eufa competitions. Hope The management has the right qualifications, wouldn’t be the first mistake this mob ha e made.

  9. Just out of curiosity. Since they are still playing in the Europa league, does their main man not need to have a european coaching licence, or will this slide past Uefa? Im just guessing from your comment that “Steve Davis, MBE, has never managed a football team” might not have this appropriate licence?
Can you can give us any feedback on this Phil?
    Thanks
