It is difficult not to feel for the current Sevco manager.
This is his first big job, and he is definitely up against it.
Firstly, the team he MUST beat has an elite manager who is also vastly better resourced.
It was instructive that when Joe Hart was sent off against Livingston, the camera focused on the Celtic technical area.
Brendan Rodgers was seen calmly reaching for a notebook and pen. He then beckoned over his captain, Calum McGregor, with fresh instructions.
The Irishman wasn’t minded to make a drama out of a crisis.

It was the response of the consummate professional.
How would Mickey react in such circumstances?
This is where the…err…statistical anomaly is a real boon.
I was told yesterday that the order had already gone out from the Blue Room to the Stenography Corps that “Beale is one defeat away from the sack” was now the officially approved narrative.
My settled view is that the Transcendental Chairman would have probably sacked Mickey 24 hours after the recent derby defeat if the cash were available.
My information is that now that Mickey has been in post for this amount of time, if he is sacked now, then he must receive the entire remainder of his contract.
I’m told that if he had been canned earlier in his tenure, the payoff would have only been six months’ salary.
As ever, we must follow follow the money.
The extent to which the Ibrox klanbase want to get rid of the ex-QPR icon is palpable.
They do not believe that Beale can overturn the combination of Brendan Rodgers and this Celtic squad.
For the avoidance of doubt, that’s all that matters to them.
Indeed, even a very decent result against Real Betis couldn’t lift the snarling mood among the unhappy Herrenvolk at Ibrox.
They want him gone.

Moreover, it seems to be their collective view that watching their beloved Rainjurrz at the moment constitutes a cruel and unusual punishment.
That’s why I wasn’t surprised to see that nice young Mr Bisgrove order the stadium expansion squirrel into the air above Ibrox.

Tonight, Mickey B has to navigate a League Cup tie against Livi.
It should be a simple enough task.
Even if his charges play with flair and aplomb, I would be surprised if the Herrenvolk at Ibrox are singing his name.

The second time you’ve written about a great escape this week
A rich club would just give him the money, though maybe they’re letting him do an Alex Ferguson and giving him time to win at least one cup trophy before the ‘glory years’ commence.
But I doubt it.
Personally I’d rather see him kept on, stumbling from one ref assisted ‘victory’ to the next, even after the likely league cup wins though they might well use a failure in the the semi or final as excuse enough to sack him.
But where will they find the money to pay off yer another half baked faker and then also the money for the next half baked faker to take his place?
Who is funding them?
Can rangers afford to pay off Beale can they afford I don’t think they can
If R2ngers were 4 points ahead in the league, playing the same turgid crap, Beale would still be a genius in their eyes( and the SMSM eyes). The football is not as important, or an excuse. The only measurement they use is how they compare to Celtic.
The klan demand better, but in doing so, cause self harm, season after season.
Long may it continue.
Aye, it’ll break my heart when he goes. If he really was the brains behind Gerrard, Stevie boy must be one seriously thick individual.
The look of relief on his face when that second goal went in tonight was priceless. It really was a turgid watch and the score flattered them big style. A clear foul for the first, a keeper who went down in installments for a toe poke second, and an OG for the third.
I wonder if Livi will ask for clarification or demand answers from the SFA over that first goal?
Floating the notion of a stadium upgrade is yet another ploy to kid the gullibillies into believing that they actually have money. And the poor wee orcs, simple souls that they are, WILL believe it. It’s the same as all the players well out of their price range that they’re, “linked” with, but never actually sign.
Slightly off topic, but I see Alex Lowry scored last night. He’s now obviously worth tens of millions, and the Onion Bears are probably already asking among themselves why this World Class striker was sent out on loan while they kept the donkeys in the crumbledome.
Re the upgrading of the stadium in that article fill the tv screen corners then dig down to make more seats available for the10k on the waiting list :))).
Is the stadium not on a flood plain(re the Clyde) meaning they can’t lower? and do we go back to the old flooded pitch from years ago.
I love a laugh at the Herrenvolk as much as the next man – and that latest squirrel is a belter but shaddenfreude comes in many flavours. I’m concerned as a STH about your use of the term elite manager and other sites that say similar, hope it doesn’t come back to bite you. Witness the amount of click bait bhoys celebrating Oden Holms last minute tackle on Tik-Tok Todd. From the end of the game at Ibroke all the way through to Feyenoord!
Keep up the good work though
Is that stadium upgrade before or after the floating pitch ?
Surely if they did dig down the way, they are in danger of ” exhuming” the original club…
