Today I caught up with a well-placed Ibrox source who put me right on several things with some quality scéal.
First off was Sevco’s recent acquisition of Cyriel Dessers.
He said that the “undisclosed fee” allowed the local media to, as it were, speculate to exaggerate.
My guy didn’t feel the need to indulge in such pishful thinking and said that the lad’s signature cost the basket of assets just £1.5m.
Dear reader, this is the issue at Sevco.
They don’t have money but must pretend to their delightful klanbase that they’re rolling in it.
As one came in, the Sevco High Command are desperately hoping that several will leave.
If Barišić, Colak and Kamara were to find new clubs, the cash situation would look a lot brighter, especially with that pesky UEFA looking on.
I would wager that the brethren hope that Mr Let’s Go makes an offer for one of his old Ibrox charges.
A new start at Al-Ettifaq for one of the Gumtree Galacticos currently playing for the Ibrox club could propel Sevco’s bank balance into the Jotaspehere.
Of course, all players are always for sale at a well-run football club.
For the avoidance of doubt, Sevco is not a well-run football club.
It wouldn’t be this time of the year without a title warning emanating from Ibrox.
For those in the green corner of Glasgow, it’s all part of the entertainment.
The SPFL champions and treble winners are quietly going about their business with no reason to pretend, and the main men in the featured image have the resources to implement their plan.
Getting the family silver on long-term deals makes good sense.
I’m told that this one, in particular, was a specific request by the new manager.
I’m sure Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers are also on Michael Nicholson’s list, and new bhoys arriving are also possible.
Ironically Sevco’s Borna Barišić might be leaving Glasgow just as one of his international colleagues, a keeper, is coming in.
Whereas one Croat is leaving the Dear Green Place because of a cash shortage, his countryman could arrive precisely because Sevco’s city rivals have oodles of the stuff.
That nice Mr Bisgrove might just be starting to appreciate what his predecessor achieved in the plate-spinning Olympics.
Now that he has walked a mile in his brogues, he now knows what a Sterling job the Serious Professional was doing at Sevco apropos the constant money issues there.
If there were anything resembling a functioning Fourth Estate on Planet Fitba, they would just follow follow the money.
Pretending to have plenty of the stuff when things are incredibly tight must be hugely stressful.
Indeed, it might cause a lesser man to explode, constantly ranting and snarling at underlings as one bill after another came in the door.
Fortunately, the ever-tranquil chairman, is always an oasis of calm, even when others are losing their heads.
However, he will know by now that the personnel changes he oversaw some months ago have not stemmed the flow of interesting intel reaching me here in Dún na nGall.

Is it true that Rangers are still paying for Kent’s transfer at £1 million a year?
Transfers are usually paid over three windows-so it is unlikely that Ryan Kent’s is unpaid now.
A month or more on and Morelos still has no club.
What the PretendyGers are bringing in only covers those moved out. The question to be answered in time is are the new recruits as good as those they have lost. The first Glasgow derby will enlighten us on that front and/or maybe the games in the CL qualifiers. Can you imagine if they did not qualify, Beale’s spending for the season would cease for sure. Here’s hoping.
I think Brendan can take some of our younger players to a higher level, he has that in him and I hope we tie down the players you mentioned Phil. That would be tremendous.

Hey, we’ve all been there at some stage in our careers: the big boss is a total
nightmare, to the point were everyone tries to avoid them – as they spread their vitriol
across the organisation. Ibrox must be a miserable place in which to work? 🙂
Anyway, Beale the “Football Manager & Acting Sporting Director” has ALL the Ibrox
expectations on his shoulders.
If his signings don’t over-perform from Day 1, then the bears will be shouting for
Beale’s head rather quickly.
If sevco don’t qualify for the CL Group Stage, then the Blue Room will be greetin’
at the lost revenue – and Beale will be getting it in the neck.
BR can calmly oversee the season’s preparations:
Beale is already under sever pressure,
in the absence of reasonable funds to buy reasonable quality players?
But where are they getting even the 1.5 million for Dessers if they’re skint?
This isn’t counting all the other fees, however nominal, paid for the other 7 (SEVEN) players they’ve brought in.
That has to be at least 3-4 million in total at least.
So where is this money coming from?
Football transfers are paid in tranches.

They still obviously have to pay SOMETHING up front so who’s funding them?
Surely as a journalist you can find that out since you have sources inside Ibrox itself?
I stated at the start of this transfer window that MB had £5m-£6m to spend.

Also today’s rumblings are “Rangers have pulled out of a £5m move for 24-year-old Feyenoord striker Danilo” big money target falls through perhaps Feyenoord didn’t fancy being payed in multi instalments or perhaps their offer was never serious but a ploy to make the klan think they are financially sound.
Someone Christened them, the ‘Pretendygers’ when they were originally spawned. I still have a laff still when I see them referred to as the Tribute Act and Triggers Broom FC. ( Calling them Newco and Sevco, doesn’t do annoy them anymore.
Where would R2ngers finish inthe league if they did not have the Lanarkshire Ludge with them let alone the Media and the SFA? … 2nd would be a challenge.

I would say that Big Mike is very happy with the status quo-the devil is in the retail.
I’ve no news on the Elite case and Hummell will be a separate litigation.
Celtic are now motoring along because the current CEO doesn’t think he’s the director of football.

Sevco have the press, the bbc and many friends in Scotlands ‘finest’ and they’re still making a dogs dinner off it, imagine they didn’t have those friends, they’d have nothing, nothing at all.
