Compromising positions in the Ibrox love affair

As I hiked up my bóithrín today, a buddy reminded me of what I had said to him at precisely the same spot on Friday.

I had opined that I wouldn’t be surprised that Celtic might be the beneficiaries of some bizarre refereeing decision in the cup tie against Morton.

Sadly, I cannot say that he was dismayed at such cynicism in one so young.

For the avoidance of doubt, I’m certainly not young, but I am utterly cynical about those tasked with running the national game in Fair Caledonia.

I’ve repeatedly stated that to build trust; you must first remove doubt.

As I reported yesterday, my understanding is that the SFA could not give any explanation to Celtic about the vagaries of VAR in matches involving the Hoops.

Well, the chaps at Hampden should be eternally grateful that they no longer have to deal with the Bunnet.

The bottom line is that if corruption has no consequences, you’ll almost certainly get more of it.

What the late Jim Farry did was corrupt the process he was entrusted with safeguarding.

I’m guessing that while Fergus was in charge at Celtic, there were no more issues with the timely registration of players heading for Parkhead.

Jim Farry wasn’t part of any labyrinthine conspiracy.

Instead, he merely conformed to the central objective of his culture.

It is now a matter of public record that the love of the Ibrox brand can compromise even members of the judiciary.

The RTC Blogger, a winner of the Orwell prize for journalism, has this interesting take on the strange case of Sheriff Lindsay Wood.

I had not connected those two events, the takeover bid by Dave King and the botched investigation that led to the taxpayer having to shell out million in damages.

However, I CAN confirm that Big Mike has not left the stage.

As ever with the foot soldiers of fascism, the Ibrox klanbase remains jaw-droppingly credulous throughout it all.

So, my challenge to the succulent suspects in the Stenography Corps is this:

If a judge can be compromised because of his love of the Ibrox club, how can you be so sure that part-time match officials are somehow immune?

I suspect that, rather like the SFA, they will have no answer to that one.

Moreover, they KNOW that their paycheque is at risk if they even pose that question.

Instead, they tie themselves in knots to adhere to the officially approved narrative.

A sort of staunch Kama Sutra.

It’s all very comprising when viewed from a mountain road in Donegal.

  1. I see the Scottish media are in full agreement that Darvel’s win last night was the biggest cup shock in Scottish history, really?
Have they failed to notice that the current Aberdeen team is one of the worst, if not the worst, in the club’s history?
Funny how that Berwick Rangers defeat of their Glasgow namesake in the cup back in the 60’s seems to have been forgotten.

  2. Desperate stuff from Jacko today in the Daily Ranger.
Hugely bigging up young Cantwell who can’t get a game for Norwich!

  3. The fact that the Lord Advocate, Wolffe admitted malicious prosecution to a Court,
has to be one of the biggest scandals in Scotland since Devolution – and maybe even longer.

But if your source of info. was the SMSM, you might think this was just an unfortunate, legal, technical cock-up?

Nobody at the COPFS was fired.
Nobody at Police Scotland was fired.
Nobody has been charged with any offence – or even reprimanded, as far as we know.

However, us taxpayers have to foot the multi-millions bill for their admitted incompetence and/or corruption.

Nothing has changed: nothing will change.

  4. Sad that it takes a Tory MSP to try to hold Sturgeon to account. 10 years of SNP govt silence on this scandal. Why has no SNP Minister resigned or apologised for losing £50M of taxpayers money? Why has the law not changed to stop such grotesque payouts? Silence from Bute House.

    • I’m not sure the blame can be laid at the politicians door, politicians act on the advice of the paid civil service, if they’re lying to all and sundry including the politicians to cover up criminal activity of the very people charged with preventing criminal activity what chance do we have?
This was at the same time as the Salmond fit up and the rigged Independence Referendum, remember Ruth Davison knew the outcome of the Postal Vote even before the votes were counted, there is a reason why Rangers, the Orange Order & more Masonic Lodges per capita than the rest of the World exist in Scotland & it isn’t just to benefit a fitba team, that just happens to be a by product of keeping the Unicorn in Chains!
