Now with Mr Giovanni gone, the Stenography Corps can take full advantage of the fact that there are no competitive matches for two weeks.
Training is going wonderfully well, and the new boss has told the squad that they’re winners.
Amazing!
I wasn’t surprised to hear from well-placed source that the basket of assets had initially wanted to settle with QPR on an instalment basis.
However, he told me told that the Loftus Road club wisely demanded payment up front and in full.
It’s almost as if people in football now are aware that Sevco has a habit of signing up for things and then ending up in court over them.
As ever, there might well be a good story to be stood up there.
Follow follow the money.
It is a given that the local media will deliberately look the other way because it doesn’t fit the feel-good narrative that they serve up to their dwindling readership.
What is now observable is the desperation of the Stenography Corps for Mr Beale to succeed in his new job.
One day someone will get a PhD out of how in the end times of the old media in Scotland, there was this suicide pact between sports desks and the Ibrox franchise.
A culture of zero journalistic scrutiny allowed self-destructive policies to go unchecked at the club.
This did for the original Rangers in 2012, and the hacks have remained in their lane since Sevco Scotland was established by Charles of Normandy.
Sadly, this venal pish isn’t confined to the tabloids.
The Herald published a piece today by their business chap.
We are told that Sevco “roar back with record revenue”.
Alan Morrison (Celtic By Numbers) then asked the journalist a series of pertinent questions via Twitter.
I just spoke to him there, and he is yet to receive a reply from the Herald chap.
Just to be clear, Alan’s questions to the Herald chap should be front and centre of any serious journalism on the Ibrox operation.
Instead, there is clickbait about a young player controlling the ball in training!
Dear reader, file all of this under Operation Soothe.
The target demographic for this embarrassing fantasy is the Ibrox klanbase.
As Alan pointed out to me, there are clear similarities between this Sevco squad and the problems that beset Celtic in the Covid season.
There are several players who don’t want to be there, for Ajer, Christie and Edouard; see Kent and Morelos.
Moreover, Celtic’s midfield general and captain Scott Brown had reached the end of his playing days at that level, ditto Steve Davis and Alan MacGregor.
Now, that’s an interesting line for an exploratory piece.
Just don’t expect anyone in the Stenography Corps to go there.
For the record, I have no idea how well or otherwise Mr Beale will do as the new Sevco manager.
As Alan Morrison would have it, there is insufficient data to make any type of prediction on that score.
For the avoidance of doubt, that isn’t holding back the local media.
Oh, dear.
All of this is unstoppable until the football matches recommence.
Until then, the soothing balm will drip off the pages to reassure emotionally fragile folk who think that An Gorta Mór was funny.
The featured image is a reminder of what a functioning Fourth Estate is MEANT to be.
Surely some legal authority has to investigate the length of time it has taken to liquidate Rangers PLC. 10 years so far. It would be quicker to wind down Amazon so what the hell are they doing everyday? It seems to me that they are dragging their heals simply to avoid the day and hour it can be proved without a shadow of a doubt that Rangers are no more and not even in Limbo.
The recent Sky Sports twitter feed says it all – they insist Beale will be fully backed by the board when Ross Wilson’s reply states ” we will TRY and back and back that”. You don’t need to be a journalist to see the “get out clause” there. They are obviousy totally skint.
If Celtic win on January 2nd, and go 12 points clear, or maybe more, the grumbling and rumbling will start immediately. “He’s nae better than Gio!!”
Should such a scenario unfold, there is a real possibility that the title COULD be won before the next meeting of the two at. Parkhead in April. Now that, would cause rumblings and grumblings of seismic proportions.
I don’t think there’s EVER been a season with TWO dead rubbers.
Of course Beale, may just be, the Messiah they’ve been craving …… perhaps……. maybe!!
Incidentally, I agree 100% with the comments made in a previous post by John Fitzpatrick, regarding asthetics. I have personally witnessed this a number of times with guys appointed to positions where they were completely out of their depth.
Absolutely hilarious piece in the Herald this morning by one of their ace reporters no laughing now.
Gushing away about the 6 million profit at Ibrox and them having all the heating on as they all squeezed into a tiny room to hear the new messiah speak .
Apparently the gullible sod seems to think all is well and has been reassured the board .
Oh dear what can possibly go wrong .
I just saw Mick being interviewed I don’t “fink” we have much to worry about.
Awaiting the arrival of a new manager, an old hand once told me …if they come in and the first thing they do is start fking about with aesthetics ie re-arranging the office furniture, then that’s a good indication they don’t have a clue.
“@angers players to go back to wearing suits on matchdays”. That will do.
“We trained hard ……. but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form into teams we were reorganised. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganising, and what a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress, while producing confusion, inefficiency and demoralisation.”

Well, Beale is being set up by the compliant SMSM, not as a rookie manager- but as a magician!
I am fine with that: talk up the new sevco manager, who managed a mere 22 games in the Championship before rushing back to Ibrox.
Beale couldn’t hack it in the Championship.
Ange can simply carry on doing what he is doing.
sevco ‘might’ win a cup this season – at best.
Will the bears accept that?
sevco is long overdue an administration, if not liquidation – and to give Scottish football supporters a laugh. 🙂
Did I miss our Board’s angry response to Ian Maxwell regarding his unacceptable statement on VAR ? I am confident that we will be taking this to the highest level…but wasn’t sure if an opening salvo had been fired in advance. Please advise if you’ve seen it and share it if possible.I’m now away to take my meds.
No data Phil?
1 trophy in 9.
Thsts data.
Insufficient data.
That’s what I wrote.
Insufficient…
Phil:
Does Sevco still have any contracts that send money to Charles of Normandy? I’ve lost track of whether or not those contracts expired (if they indeed have an expiry date).
The shit being peddled by the Scottish media till 2nd January when the knives will he out for Beale if, when, Celtic win the New Year fixture and extend the lead at the top to 12 points, or perhaps more if the Ibrox club falter against anyone else before hand.
If that’s followed by a Scottish Cup reverse in January then Beale’s time at Ibrox will surelybhe up, given of course that the cash is there to pay Beale and his staff off.
