The captain of the leaky ship HMS Sevco appeals for calm

This late-night communiqué from Sevco’s captain will probably do little to soothe the Ibrox klanbase.

As the second-half capitulation unfolded, it was apparent that the People were revolting.

After the final whistle, there were even reported incidents of unsurpassed dignity.

If the UEFA match delegate witnessed this Quintessentially British performance art at Ibrox, then it would almost certainly result in a  disciplinary case being opened.

Fair play to the away fans for not reciprocating.

Mr Tavernier explained that Liverpool “caught us trying to play football in the wrong areas”.

Dear reader, that can be taken in several ways.

His apology to the ten-year-old club’s clientele reminded me of this cracker from a few years ago.

It just might be that young Master Tavernier doesn’t like the pressure side of the game.

Well, we are about to find out.

  1. The pen is mightier than the sword Phil and it would be great if you ,as a journalist ,could highlight the rowdy scenes at the end of the match to UEFA to see what sort of a reply you get .
Keep up the good work .

  3. The most surreal action of the night was the sevco players applauding the empty seats. The fans definitely did walk away with some even galloping away. HH

  4. Sevco should thank their lucky stars (and they are lucky…a lot !!) that they reside in this bigoted wee country.
Anywhere else and they wouldn’t exist.
They represent everything that’s bad about the game.

  5. If you read the headline in the daily record you would think that the Liverpool fans were involved with the trouble at the end of the match
The trouble was caused by rangers fans many of them hooded and masked
Many who will be the same mob who are allowed to march through the streets again with faces covered while singing sectarian bile .
These people are not football fans they are sectarian hate filled thugs who the football club welcome into their stadium
The very same group of fans who were seen on social media at the first leg of the Liverpool marching dressed in black faces covered up on way to the ground.
Eufa are quick enough to fine clubs who’s fans who display banners they do not approve of this
It will be double standards if they ignore the violence at this game
It is not unusual at Ibrox for away fans stuck in that corner of Ibrox to have to endure violence and have objects thrown at them .
Ask any SPL clubs fans they will tell you what it’s like
And as ever complain to the police and stewards is pointless .

  6. Firmino’s headed goal was a carbon copy of Anthony Stokes headed goal in the 2016 cup final. Hibs knew he couldn’t defend back then and nothings changed since then.
