I suppose the contrast was too painful for the usual suspects within the Stenography Corps.
This time last year, Glasgow witnessed scenes of serious public disorder.
Police officers and other members of the emergency services were assaulted as the Ibrox klanbase celebrated Sevco’s first-ever title win.

Yesterday all was changed, changed utterly.
Of course, that wasn’t the narrative that the local media wanted to put out.
In fairness, they did their best.

If this had been put out by one of the obedient churnalists on the sports desk, then I would have priced that in.
However, I do expect better from a Pol Corr, dear reader, I really do.

Incidentally, this was the front page of his own blatt last year.
I think someone should have told him.

Any neutral observer would quickly see the difference.
Indeed, the contrast was too stark to find its way into a novel.

The featured image shows happy scenes at Glasgow Cross.
I’m sure that the men and women of the emergency service have a clear view of the respective parts of the “Old Firm”.
Yet official Scotland clings to the false narrative despite the mounting evidence on the ground.
Next up is the feral fiesta in Sevilla.
Two Rainjurzz legends (legneds?) have been wheeled out to effectively beg the Ibrox klanbase to behave while they are in Spain.

Stewart Robertson was seriously professional when he called for the klan to behave in Spain.
“I’d say, regardless of numbers, respect the city, respect the locals…we want the local people to have a positive impression of Rangers and the supporters.”
It was impressive how he could also mention the 2008 UEFA Cup final without missing a beat.
No mention of the worst night of destruction since Hermann Wilhelm Göring send his chaps over the English city.
Judge Blake was certainly evident that he didn’t want to deal with the Bearmacht again.
“The riot police were deployed in full riot gear and struggled to contain the trouble and restore order.
“What followed was the worst night of violence and destruction suffered by Manchester city centre since the Blitz.
“What came afterwards, the damage, the filth and litter was apparent to all who arrived in Manchester the following day.”
The BBC report linked above stated that Scott McSeveney, 22, of Shotts, Lanarkshire, was jailed for three-and-a-half years for violent disorder and the assault on Pc John Goodwin and given an eight-year football banning order.
Mark Stoddart, 27, of Westmuir Street, Glasgow, was jailed for two-and-a-half years for violent disorder and assaulting Pc Regan. He was also given an eight-year football banning order.
I wonder if these two fine fellows will be in Seville?
Everyone can see where the problem is within Planet Fitba.
Yet the local media cling to the Old Firm narrative.
The false equivalence fantasy seems utterly bizarre to outsiders.
They can see that this is not a footie equivalent of a Rorschach test.
I now fear for the good people of Seville.
It’s a beautiful city, and they deserve better than to have the Ibrox klanbase even for a few days.
The detritus of a deceased imperium seething with anger that the world isn’t theirs anymore.
Even in Fair Caledonia, it is apparent that they’re on the wrong side of history.

Two years after Rangers died in 2012, Glasgow voted to leave the United Kingdom.
Sadly, this week in Spain, a lovely place with generous welcoming citizens, will have to endure the trailer trash of a dead empire.
I’m sure they would rather have a re-run of 2003.

more reporters making a clown of themselves, trying to bring us down to there level
It’ll be portrayed as a victory today with the sports direct case being settled confidentially, be great to know the figures
50k Sevco klanbase and 50k Frankfurt mixed with serious amounts of bevy and 30 odd degree heat what can possibly go wrong haha
Hear Hear Phil !
If God’s in his heaven, then Eintracht will win it after penalties with Tavernier missing his. However the world is back to the front at the moment so I see Sevco winning 3 nil since they have already seen off two German teams much higher up in their league. Baton down the hatches, it’s 1966 all over again.
The ‘Bearmacht’ might take heed of Souness et al and behave, thus temporarily mending their tarnished reputation……..but seriously, it’s not just the people of ‘Sevilla’ who will suffer……..so many other parts of Spain will be visited by the Klan en route to their meeting with the “Tochter und Sohne” of Frankfurt.
2 tales of one city.
What’s equally depressing is that the “Grey Brigade” at Celtic Park are unable to evolve and so bereft of new ideas they also hang on the the dead “Old Firm” brand. They think it’s just tit for tat Old Firm liquidation “banter” and can’t grasp the evolution happening right Infront of their face. Celtic fans no longer wish to be associated The Rangers it’s quite simple.
we all know what is going to happen in seville and the spanish costas but because it
wont happen in the stadium uefa will turn a blind eye what odds of a fair play award for the huns???
The Mayor of Seville has been sending out warnings on twitter all week that any disorder (Orange) will not be tolerated, apparently two Onion (sic) Bears have been deported already
It’s also quite funny to see the tweet responses to the official call for calm in Seville.
We all know the headlines
